Never good when you have to ask this, but is this dress awful or nice?
zara dress

And let's assume it is acceptable, what would you wear with it?

Thanks Grin

I like the shape and print, but am not keen on off the shoulder/cold shoulder things personally, especially now it's getting colder. If I had to wear it I'd dress it down with opaque tights and flat boots.

MoreGilmoreGirls · 03/10/2016 22:43

Awful I can't imagine where you could wear it.

MandyFl0ss · 03/10/2016 22:45

Horrible

123beanie · 03/10/2016 22:45

I can't make my mind up Grin

RaeSkywalker · 03/10/2016 22:45

Not my thing- if I had it though, I'd go for opaques and black ankle boots.

pictish · 03/10/2016 22:46

It belongs on a cheerleader.

crayfish · 03/10/2016 22:46

Horrible. I don't really get all this off the shoulder stuff in the shops just now, but then again I'm old...

pictish · 03/10/2016 22:47

Ooo though black opaques could work. If you liked it.

PippaFawcett · 03/10/2016 22:48

If the model can't make it look nice, what chance do the rest of us have?

milkysmum · 03/10/2016 22:48

Well I quite like it

EllenDegenerate · 03/10/2016 22:49

Arms are a very bizarre length indeed.
In fact it just looks far too small for the model, and completely unflattering to her skin tone and I just can't get past that.

I think that there are probably thousands of not vet dresses in the world.

If I had to wear it I'd pair it with black velvet over the knee boots, a black fedora and a long crimson scarf.

But really I'd just wear something nicer.

EllenDegenerate · 03/10/2016 22:50

*non vet supposed to say better Hmm

Queenbean · 03/10/2016 22:53

Looks like a fake Burberry that's been bought for £1.99 off a market stall

calzone · 03/10/2016 22:56

Awful

But black tights and flat boots

Penvelopesnightie · 03/10/2016 22:56

Only a 16 yr old could carry that off and look good.

RockinHippy · 03/10/2016 22:58

It really depends on your shape. If you are slim & have a boyish frame as does the model, then it could look nice if styled well. It would look great on my DD, definitely not on meGrin

I like the print & tunic shape, but agree the bare shoulders are silly for winter, but you can minimise that

I would dress it with opaque black tights & flat boots & would put a black tank/vest top under it to fill in & minimise the bare shoulders, add a nice chunky ivory necklace, some black & ivory chunky bangles & ivory earings. Maybe a black or pinstripe trilby too

DavetheCat2001 · 03/10/2016 23:07

I think it's hideous.

Sorry OP.

testing123testing123 · 03/10/2016 23:20

I was thinking opaques and flat / chunky heeled boots. I think the colour would suit my skin tone better than the model's but I'm going to go with the majority and forget it I think. Can never find anything I like Sad

Queenbean · 03/10/2016 23:26

What kind of thing are you looking for op, maybe we can help?

rockin what kind of ivory items are you suggesting? I can't imagine how that would look nice at all, I'm picturing something quite bizarre in my head!

testing123testing123 · 03/10/2016 23:36

I'm holding an event, hoping to be featured in local papers, and want something cool and interesting in case I end up with my photo taken! I'm early thirties 5ft4, size 10- 12, big of chest. Help!!

OP posts:
Lilacpink40 · 03/10/2016 23:38

Really don't like it. Sorry.

winkywinkola · 03/10/2016 23:38

It's awful even on the model.

RockinHippy · 03/10/2016 23:40

Chunky beads in an ivory colour, which would sit better as a contrast to the black vest/tank I suggested wearing under the dress & chunky bangles in a mix of the 2 colours - thats presuming the dress main colour is ivory as it looks on my screen

RockinHippy · 03/10/2016 23:42

OP, you sound a similar build to me. If you are busty, you really don't want to be wearing this style, it wouldn't sit well on a bigger bust

AGruffaloCrumble · 03/10/2016 23:46

Definitely not a good style on a big boobed lady.
