Never good when you have to ask this, but is this dress awful or nice?
zara dress

And let's assume it is acceptable, what would you wear with it?

Thanks Grin

I think this is horrible but it's your own personal style what ever makes you feel comfortable. You don't dress for anyone else only for you

RockinHippy · 03/10/2016 23:55

I'm guessing as you say the dress colour would suit you better than the model, that you are darker skin/haired ?

I think this sort of shape would work much better on you. It has a similar smart casual feel, nut would suit your size & bust better. If you are dark skin/haired you could carry off this colour well too. Dress it up with the same sort black opaque tights & flat black boots & similar jewellery too, though you could contrast the jewellery in a bold colour, or wear a printed neckerchief, even leopardskin would work

RockinHippy · 04/10/2016 00:01

Dont think my link worked properly... THIS

Amethyst81 · 04/10/2016 00:46

No its not nice, don't like the print or the neckline/shoulders. I think it wold be hard to style this time of year.

PoppyPicklesPenguin · 04/10/2016 00:52

For me it would be a no, am tall with a large bloody enormous bust

Think you would have to be tall and flat chested to carry that off...or a quirky type

I'd love to be like that just shove anything on and look cool.

Fabellini · 04/10/2016 01:00

I think you should buy it and try it on - styling it as you want to wear it. Zara's website is notorious for making their stuff look awful....I don't know what they're thinking half the time!
You can always return it if it doesn't work for you, but I'm willing to bet it's a lot nicer in real life than it looks in the pic.

thehugemanatee · 04/10/2016 01:03

Looks like a long skirt pulled up to the shoulders with added sleeves. Nice print, horrible style

Lweji · 04/10/2016 01:17

I think it's cute, if you're young.

I wouldn't wear it to work.

This is one of the few I'd definitely say black opaques and flat ankle boots, or even brogues.
For extra warmth, maybe a turtle neck or a scarf (plain colour).

SlottedSpoon · 04/10/2016 04:23

I can't make up my min either. Confused

It's an awkward dress to know how to wear. It could look lovely with black leggings and chunky boots and a big scarf or chunky necklace, but then if you were doing that it would be winter and your shoulders would be cold.

I don't like it worn on its own like in the photo. Plus beige is not an easy colour to wear for most skin tones.

Nearlyadoctor · 04/10/2016 07:02

Horrible - very cheap looking.

RebelandaStunner · 04/10/2016 11:10

I really don't like it and agree it looks cheap. But if you want it...

Loyly · 04/10/2016 11:12

Sorry, I agree that it's nasty and cheap.

BitOutOfPractice · 04/10/2016 11:13

It's a no from me too. Plus the model looks such a mess too - her hair is a mess which doesn't help imho

CatNip2 · 04/10/2016 11:14

I don't dislike it, but as other posters have said, its OK for a teenager.

Sparklesilverglitter · 04/10/2016 11:14

I don't like it. To me it looks like an old sack, and I can't imagine what body shape it would look nice on TBH

burnishedsilver · 04/10/2016 11:17

It's a bit 'Clueless'. You'd need to be their age to wear it.

This dress - horrible or nice?
polyhymnia · 04/10/2016 15:46

Horrible in lots of ways. And, even if it was perfect in other respects, I think the cold shoulder look has been well and truly done to death through the summer and now looks both tacky and boring.

testing123testing123 · 05/10/2016 08:07

Definitely not going for the dress so don't worry! Rockinhippy, I'm not a huge fan of that shirt dress, sorry. The quest continues
