Those riding boots of Kate's

So I've coveted those Penelope Chilvers boots Kate M wears for ages. Is there a good quality alternative I can look at as I assume they are wildly overpriced due to the publicity?

Looking for a flat, comfortable knee high boot in brown (doesn't have to be very dark, but not tan). Which will look nice in the pub but also out and about walking in muddy puddles....

Any chance of a picture Monzeitia?

Take them to a cobbler and they'll stretch them for you but first measure the circumference for reference for the rest of us Grin.

I have Dubarry Galways and they're great but those Penelope Chilvers boots are absolutely gorgeous! Darn you OP, what have you done 😉

Monzeitia...please let us know how they fit as I am the same size as you and have been lusting after them...then found this thread so am poised to order! My feet are fairly slim as are my calves...Clarks can be on the large side so am a little concerned that everyone says they come up big.

I did find an English website for boots but the mark up seems v high....again. I do LOVE boots...getting excited now!

Yes please, please post the calf measurement. I am a 6 too but historically have chunky calf issues Blush which always seems a bit odd, I am a size 12 so not nearly as slim as Kate but no where near overweight. V average tbh!
Scared of ordering then being unable to zip them up. Does anyone know how much a good cobbler can stretch boot calves? Huss there are limits!

Guess not Huss Blush

Just sitting up in bed noodling on Mumsnet and have ended up spending £120! I'm blaming you lot (for the fact that I'm weak willed and just couldn't resist)!

Thank you for that site, the mark up is so much less! I'd be really interested to see how they fit as I've got big feet and I'm chunky of calfage.

Calf measurement on my size 38s is 14 inches/35.5cm. Snug but not uncomfortably so on my sturdy calves, but no prospect of tucking in anything more than leggings.

Hello again, my calves sizes are 14.5 inches size 6, the boots calf size at the top with the sip on is 15inches
I'm wearing them with light jeans and today I can zip them ok.
Don't take any notice of those around bits at the top of the boots, they don't stick out like that, I just forgot to place them inside for the photo.
Also they are really comfortable and not heavy
I hope this helps 😀

They look great. Are they the bota Kate? Did you order from Spain? How much in total including delivery?I'm really tempted but don't want to make a mistake when returning would be expensive. I'm usually a 40 but not sure whether to size up??? Decisions!

Monzeitia · 07/10/2016 13:34

Yes they are the Kate boots, link from Botemp, first page of this thread. Thank you BorempSmile
I paid including delivery £173; I don't usually pay that much but the boots are truly lovely and the quality is outstanding, they also send you a small container with wax in it.
I would say go for it, order your normal size, I have big calves due to years of running and today I can zip them up with no problems;I'm wearing mine today and they are so comfortable and really warm; I know I'm going to be wearing them a lot, I just moved to the country and they are just perfect for everything really, oh and the boots look much better in real
Now I want a black boots I've seeing in the same place, need to saveGrin

febel I'm pretty sure that you've found the 'new' version of the company that I bought mine from. The dates work. The founder seems to have moved from Kings Langley to Abbots Langley plus a very simple name change. Well spotted.

I just ordered them from this link. A Paypal notification email just came for £121, but no email from them. Why is the amount different??!

I hope I haven't been had!!!

Thank you so much for the info. I will definitely order, just need to decide between the 40 and the 41.

To avoid confusion I linked two different pairs on the same site. The first at €99,50 excl shipping with flat soles and the second I linked are with the profiled soles like the PC ones and the one Monzeitia is modelling that are € 160 excl shipping. Hence the price difference.
