How has she done it? With a crimper? I used to crimp my hair in the 90s and I'm pretty sure it never looked like that Confused

Plaits and sea salt spray donit

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 16:31

Do it*

Mybeardeddragonjustdied2016 · 01/10/2016 16:31

I can get my hair like this by plaiting it damp - lots of little ones - and leaving it to dry naturally. In no way is my hair naturally wavy either!

P1nkP0ppy · 01/10/2016 16:32

Loosely plait it when wet, leave to dry overnight?

hollyisalovelyname · 01/10/2016 16:32

Definitely not a crimper

Hastalapasta · 01/10/2016 16:32

No idea, but I plait my daughters hair at night and it looks similar before I brush it. She is only 7 so not rocking that look for school just yetSmile

GinAndOnIt · 01/10/2016 16:33

How big should the plaits be? Do I need to tie the bottom of every plait? That sounds like such a faff.

Sea salt spray I have. My hair is naturally wavy, but not nice waves like this.

I do 4 in mine. My hair is long as well

GinAndOnIt · 01/10/2016 16:36

Is that four on the same level, or divide hair into two and do two plaits on bottom layer and two plaits on top?

OP posts:
GinAndOnIt · 01/10/2016 16:37

And are we talking French plaits or just normal?

OP posts:
DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 16:37

That's what I got after 15 hours in plaits

Not wishing to be a cow, but isn't that type of hair part of a whole look? I see women with long grey hair exactly like that, or dyed red hair etc but it's not got the same vibe....

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 16:38

Side by side French plaits

If don't want your top half wavy then do it from ears

SouthWestmom · 01/10/2016 16:38

Cross posted! Doesn't apply to you op

GinAndOnIt · 01/10/2016 16:42

What do you mean, noeuf?

I like that the lovely blonde lady has the top half wavy so I'll try French. Thank god I haven't got to buy a crimper.

OP posts:
SouthWestmom · 01/10/2016 16:43

I don't know how to explain it exactly.

Like, my 'look' would make that hair just look like messy straggles.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 16:43

No crumpets don't do that Grin

Just spray with sea salt to toughen them up a bit

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/10/2016 16:44

Crimpers*

GinAndOnIt · 01/10/2016 16:48

That I can do. My hair is at least good at staying however I style it for days

Plus side to non shiny hair I suppose!

OP posts:
GinAndOnIt · 03/10/2016 14:15

So. I French plaited my hair four times. I sprayed with sea salt spray. I left to dry. My hair looks nothing like that lady. I think my hair is too frizzy and thin :(

OP posts:
GinAndOnIt · 03/10/2016 14:17

I'm going to replait them before I go to sleep, but maybe more plaits. Perhaps the mistake was washing hair this morning - hair is too clean maybe to hold the kink.

NantucketNightbird · 03/10/2016 14:19

I French plaited my hair last night (hair is half way down my neck in a choppy Bob). It definitely gave it some body which it usually lacks and it has a slight wave.

GinAndOnIt · 03/10/2016 14:20

This is how it looks...
