Recommendations for girls' underwear

In particular, ones where the gusset is wider than a toothpick!

We've got some great Carter's ones we bought in the US a couple of years ago, but some are starting to get tatty. DD is nearly 7, tall and slim. I've looked in Asda and Sainsburys and their girls' knickers are like backwards thongs.

So before I go to every bloomin' store on the high street, where is good for girl's knickers that actually covers what needs to be covered?

Dd has Next knickers and they are lovely. They last better than any other high street ones we have tried in M&S.

Boden are by far the nicest in terms of quality but are £££.

Both of the above give good bum and gusset coverage.

DD has H&M undies, the shorts ones, and they fit really well.

H&M, especially the shorts style ones.

I think shorts will be quite flappy around the leg openings, her legs and bum are pretty slim

Any particular JL ones?

Another vote for Boden, nothing else seems to compare. Normally buy with 20% off or £10 voucher

I've never seen pants for girls that young like you describe, where on earth are you shopping? DD is 6, she has Disney pants from Mothercare and My Little Pony pants from Sainsbury's. All perfectly good on the coverage front.

The H&M shorts are good, my DD wears them under dresses. They fit quite snug. M&S are good too.

Gap - size up. I get them in the sales. Great big chunky knickers they are in great colours.

Gap are good for coverage but they have the biggest labels in them

Dd likes "big" knickers and is in Sainsbury's own. Not sure what they stock in your sainsbos.

Petit bateau are excellent quality. Good fitting and never get tatty!

We also buy from Next but size down if your dd is skinny as they are very generous size-wise!

I doubt it, DD is very slim and they are a perfect fit she wears size 4-6 ( she's age 6) The "normal" h&m knickers are elasticated around the leg holes which also helps?

I remember dd having this problem with 'shorts' style knickers like these They use to have!
I got her some that are actually little shorts like these which are much better.

Primark do similar ones too, even better if you can get them are the h&m and vertbaudet/ laredoute ones that are cotton.

For my dd I use Sainsburys I find they cover well and stay in place, never any hint of them moving at all but I suppose it's like anything they won't fit or suit everyone.

Gap are really good but as pp mentioned they come with labels nearly as big as the pants! We just cut the labels out and they last well and have fun designs

Boden. They are pricey but last well and very comfortable. I've bought a year up so DD gets 2 years out of a set. I wish they would do an adult version!!

Biden ones are the best. Good thick fabric which washes really easily. They last forever too.

Boden- nice thick material and really good quality. Wait for a discount though!

Boden, best by far. No gaping gussets...bleurgh and really decent material, haven't found any that compare unfortunately. I stock up in the sales as they are.pricey.
