Lady Tash - How Do You Tame Yours?

It's not quite on a par with Nigel Farage's Enoch Powell look (yet), but I do get fed up with the fur that insists on growing on my upper lip. Over the years I've tried creams, waxing, electrolysis, shaving (yes!) and now I'm plucking.

Have I missed anything out?

I've always waxed mine. There's not much left now really so I had a go at threading it today. Seemed to work well, I just need to get the knack and develop some of that patience stuff.

I'm a wimp. Tried waxing various times but now I used facial hair remover cream. Same result no pain.

I burn mine off with chemicals.

What is an epi stick? Does it feel like epilating or threading? I use an epilator on most other hair I want removing but it hurts too much on my top lip for some reason.

I'm a hairy Mclary too, but whatever I do to my tache ends up looking worse, as waxing/hair removal cream brought me out in a red rash!

Lordamighty - Epi Stick? I've just searched for them on ebay. I vaguely think I might have tried them in the past but couldn't work out how to do it. Can you explain in words of one syllable for me how you do it? Did you get the knack straight away?

I bought a Tweepi from Amazon on the advice from the Mrs Gloss FB page.

DO NOT buy this thing. It will make you want to die. Beard or no, it is an instrument of Satan himself.

Gets me lovely and smooth but I have to be scuttered on gin before I dare have a bash, and occasionally (all the time) I realise the following day I twizzled off only half of the lady beard.

Thanks for the warning! I get a few stray beardy hairs on my chinny chin but I absolutely LOVE tweezering those. I get the most amazing sense of satisfaction as I yank them out. I almost beg them to grow so that I can show them the tweezer. But tash hairs are a different beast - no satisfaction there at all. I'm getting bored of plucking. I'm seriously hoping MN can come up with the perfect solution.

I've shaved, plucked, creamed (until that was bringing me out in a red rash), investigated IPL (couldn't have that as on photosensitive meds) and I'm now 18 months into electrolysis that I'm not entirely sure has been worth the cycle of pain, 1 week of looking a state because of redness, swelling and scabs, then a week of looking ok before the regrowth starts.

BUT it is starting to pay off now. But I don't even think I'll have a beautiful, smooth upper lip.

I have got PCOS and am having mine done with laser at end of month so will report back afterwards

Have tried waxing and electrolysis but cos of my hormone imbalance it hasn't been brilliant result so far

Wax strips from superdrug, do it every month or so.

I have an epi stick which is awesome but find it hurts too much on my lip so save that for my chin since weirdly the wax strips really don't work there very well!

I use a NoNo, brilliant on my moustache. It works on my arms and legs too. A bit pricy, but it doesn't hurt and, if you keep to the rule of only going over the same area three times, there are no side affects

Epi stick - you bend it into an inverted U & then twirl the ends. Same effect as epilating or threading. Hurts like hell the first time you use it but less so with regular use. Strangely compulsive.

Dont laugh.... I shave mine with little shiseido razors I bought from amazon.
I was initially shitting it that I would end up looking like a big hairy bloke; but nope. Perfect!

I've just been checking my Amazon purchase history and I did buy an epistick in 2015 but I remember me and it didn't get along.

Maud I bought some Eyebrow Razors from Amazon and ended using those on my MO and they were quite good, but needed endlessly re-doing (so glad I'm not a man). Are the Shiseido razors similar?

Yes very similar. I bought the other brand as some beauty guru was raving about them. Lisa Eldridge was saying she shaves her entire face. Im not brave enough for that im afraid.

Was using an Epistick but now my Lumea has just about killed the tache :) def lasts for ages and less to lose each time.

Philips lumea, expensive but does loads more than just the taste, would recommend to everyone!
