Lady Tash - How Do You Tame Yours?

It's not quite on a par with Nigel Farage's Enoch Powell look (yet), but I do get fed up with the fur that insists on growing on my upper lip. Over the years I've tried creams, waxing, electrolysis, shaving (yes!) and now I'm plucking.

Have I missed anything out?

I pluck daily but covet a Lumea. The price!! Shock

Hassled · 01/09/2016 21:21

I've tried just about everything but the wax strips seem to suit me best. It takes seconds and doesn't leave any redness. Only downside is the pathetically small number of post-wax wipes to strips ratio - why? Why do they think that's OK?

carrie74 · 01/09/2016 21:55

Boots' version of the Lumea for me after a few years of waxing. It's great!

poppym12 · 01/09/2016 21:56

I bought a lumea compact to use on my facial fuzz but I think it's been out of the box once. Must stop wasting money on things I think would be the best idea ever but the reality is I can't be arsed to use Blush. I don't even think I have suitable hair and skin tone for the bloody thing to work.

maggiethemagpie · 01/09/2016 22:53

I've been using boots facial hair removing cream for years. 5 mins in the bathroom, then wipes off clean.

ageingrunner · 01/09/2016 22:57

The epi stick takes a bit to get the knack of, but when you've got it it works really well. I think I watched a video on YouTube

soupmaker · 01/09/2016 23:13

Have just purchased an epistick. I have dreadful amounts of chin hair. No tash, but I have a beard that needs more than tweezers.

EnidButton · 01/09/2016 23:35

Epi stick did nothing on me. I was using it correctly but nothing much happened. Anyway I use those eyebrow shaper things now. The Lilibeth of New York ones. The Shiseido ones were too sharp and made my face sore.

OlennasWimple · 02/09/2016 03:13

Is tash treatment one of those things that once you start, you have to keep doing? I'm fair but starting to get a bit Hairy McClary, but worried that once I start it's going to be another addition to the beauty regime (that I'm already pretty crap at)

joangray38 · 02/09/2016 03:27

Epi sticks are a form of torture and they don't always work! I'm using and having success with a combination of electrolysis and home ipl with a comfort lumea and at last it's going!

HandmaidsTail · 02/09/2016 08:02

Carrie what's the Boots version of the Lumea called please?

blibblibs · 02/09/2016 10:02

I have tried almost everything on my beard but without a doubt the Phillips lumea is the best thing ever. I waited and waited to buy it and I'm now kicking myself I didn't get it before. It's the first time I haven't had to shave eveyday in nearly 20 years Blush

Mymouthgetsmeintrouble · 02/09/2016 10:07

Im lucky that although im fuzzy im blonde i just use wax strips every few weeks

carrie74 · 02/09/2016 11:55

Handmaids I think it's called SmoothSkin. The current version looks great, much quicker between flashes (mine is a 5sec wait between each which is a bit tedious). It's great though, I've now got hardly any leg, bikini or armpit hair.

Marmighty · 02/09/2016 12:05

Threading for upper lip and eyebrows - find it the least irritating for my skin and regrowth is relatively soft and fair. Have to get it done every 3-4 weeks. I tweezer my big bristly chin hairs - so satisfying.

nickEcave · 02/09/2016 15:21

Epistick is brilliant for fine fuzzy hair but won't deal with anything bristly, I still have to tweezer my stubborn chin hairs.

HateSummer · 02/09/2016 15:33

Philips lumea here. If you've had a life time of thick hairiness, then a lumea is what you need.

FurryLippedSquid · 02/09/2016 21:21

Carrie
Is this the Smoothskin thing you have?

It looks bloody brilliant.

I got mine threaded in Superdrug of all places today. Am now the owner of a l9vely smooth lip. I have an epistick but threading serms to be much more efficient.

Mrs9C · 02/09/2016 22:15

FurryLipped I thought it was just me who got that satisfaction from the painful pull out of the chin hairs! Very satisfying, and I also will them (it!) to grow just to pull it out Grin

EmpressTomatoKetchup · 02/09/2016 22:40

Jolen, jolen, jolen, jolen, I'm begging you please just bleach my tash....

Waxing, plucking or using a creame just gives me spots.

Sarah7510 · 02/09/2016 22:48

Lumea. Fab everywhere except legs where it's only mediocre (for me)

Rainatnight · 02/09/2016 23:03

I misread this thread title and thought it said how do you name your tash Grin So to answer that question, Frieda, like Kahlo.

PoshPenny · 02/09/2016 23:12

Threading has sorted out my embarrassing facial hair issues. So much better than waxing.

carrie74 · 03/09/2016 00:44

Furry, mine's an even older version of that, but a similar price, has been marvellous!
