Jasmine's Bridal Replica Makers - big no no!

Since the wedding dress I wanted was haute couture and impossible to lay my hands on I decided for a company that makes replicas of wedding dresses, Jasmine's Bridal. They are based in China and in hindsight i should have thought twice since I stopped ordering clothes online from Chinese websites due to poor quality, but Jasmine's had quite good reviews online. It seemed like women all over the world used them.
Now I got the dress and I just broke down and cried. First I even thought they sent me someone else's dress. Because it doesn't even remotely look like the original. Instead of a knitted dress they have sent me a cheap silk-imitation dress with the patterns sown on top. Added to that the upper part of the dress is totally transparent so there is no way one can wear a bra under it. I asked them what on earth were they thinking? They replied that it SEEMED the original dress looked like this.
1200 pounds wasted. I am an idiot.

Not Jessica's but my friend did similar I'd keep pestering them as it's clearly nothing alike to what they promised.

Well yes that wasn't a great decision. Write it off to experience.

I've just checked out their website and it says not to order online, any chance you've got a fake Jasmine dress because it says you order from trunk shows?

What is the dress you actually want? Maybe we could find something similar?

You paid £1,200 for a dress that you ordered off the internet from China? FML. I'd be asking yourself what you were thinking, not them.

Well luckily I had a back up plan so I am already in contact with a designer close to where I live.

But yes, 1200 wasted, and I don't mean 120.... This store claims to make replicas from scratch, you send them the photos of your dress, even if it's what the princess of norway wore to her wedding they'll make it. What i got WOULD have been wearable if it wasn't for the fact that half the dress - i.e the top - is transparent. I said what on earth were you thinking? They said I can always wear a nubra, when i already told them my size is 30G - there's no way i can wear anything but a real Curvy Kate bra. The original is NOT transparent I have to add...

Just googled Kate Twigley's dress. The top part does look fairly exposing. Not exactly demure. Potential for a lot to go wrong in a copy.

Ah, that's what you meant by knitted. I can see how that wasn't going to be replicated really, that whole dress is about that fabric.

Also, How are you supposed to wear a proper bar with that dress in the first place?

Oh, and doesn't look like Kate Twigley wore a bra with hers so I think you maybe are just not built for that kind of dress, OP. What's your backup plan.

Well, I asked them before: are you able to make this dress? They said, let's get back to you in a week, and then they said: we have checked with production team and we are able to make it. But well, it's anyway my fault, and apart from wasting 1200 and all this work done in vain i just wanted to warn others since if you happen to stumble on their website it looks like the perfect deal... but of course they don't post all the angry customer's letters

That is a beautiful dress but when you are busty (I'm a 30H myself) you just can't wear things like that.
Even if you had it made by the same person as the dress you wanted copying you wouldn't have been able to wear it without showing your bra.
That said the company should never have said the could copy it, they would have needed the fabric.

Isn't it so well known that these companies are awful that there is a Facebook page dedicated to photos of what it should have looked like compared to what it turned out like. A bit like the nailed it baking photos.

Hope you get the dress you want, FWIW I don't think the woman in the picture (no idea who she is), is wearing a bra. And I bet that dress is really uncomfortable, all those big chunky bits would surely be at the very least a bit distracting.

Just had a closer look, the sides are transparent and it's really low cut. The only bits that wouldn't show a bra are the embellished plant / flower / leaf things.

I have to say that since you've attempted to engage in direct intentional theft of someone else's intellectual property I'm not hugely sympathetic.

That said it is a hell of a lot of money to lose so I'm sure you've learned your lesson. Good luck with finding a reasonably priced replacement for your wedding.

You definitely couldn't wear a bra even with the original so the fact the replica is nearly transparent is not really the issue.

Looking at this it looks like it's got some kind of built in boob support, so although I don't think she was wearing a separate bra, I think there was one in the dress.

I'm guessing yours isn't like this op?
