Calling any Didriksons' coat owners

A recent coat thread drew my attention to this brand. They look fab but i know nothing about the fit and pros and cons. If yoh own onw would you recommend it and why? Conversely are there bad points? I am an 8-10 on top, would a 34 or 36 be thd best fit?

I'm a 10-12 and I have the 40, I would say a 38 would also fit me. Plus points are that I am 6ft and the sleeves reach my wrists and they are nice and long, so not one to consider if you are shorter than 5ft8 I imagine...

They are very warm. I love mine. I think they come up big but can't remember for sure as bought it a couple of years ago.

Ha ha...the reason I love mine is that they are made for the Swedish market...I.e taller than the UK

I love mine. I've had it for about three years. It's wearing really well. Still looks good and I wear it continually from October/ November til April/ May. Live in Scotland but pretend it's Sweden! It's warm and waterproof and people often comment on it.

Also I'm pretty short too 5ft 3

Just checked I have a 40 could probably get away with 38 but tend to wear lots of layers. Arms are long come to end of fingers but most things do on me. Length wise it's good. Looks better with jeans but works well enough with short skirts and boots. I don't think it looks too big or long and many things do.

I'm 5ft9ins and love my Didrikson Mary - long enough and fully waterproof. The hood comes properly over my big head too.

But my shorter friend (5ft 6) and her slightly shorter mum and petite friends love their Angelina and Mary parkas too.

I'm 10 on top and 12 on bottom and have a 38 Mary

I would buy for your bottom half rather than your top - you can layer up on top but you don't want a tight bottom!

They are sooo warm but not too thick or puffy/bulky.

I love my Didrikson coat. I can't remember which one it is, but it's worm brilliantly and four years on it still looks good.

I'm sure I read on here that you no longer need to size up as they've changed the sizing. It might be worth searching some past threads or calling Viking Kids to see if they can advise you.

Thanks. I am actually bigger on top than on the bottom. 8-10 on top and 6-8 below. I hate my coats too tight though. Yes I do fancy a parka!

I was an 8 -10 when I bought my Didriksons jacket and I bought the teenage largest size, age 14 I think, saving pots of money by doing so.

Still fits and is marvellous now, 6 years later.

It's brilliant, I'm really happy with mine. I'm not cold in it, even on the coldest days. It's done school trips, to the beach in March, 4am poorly dog walks in winter etc.
Nice that it can be shoved in the washing machine too. I should probably do it whilst I can easily dry it actually...
Also lots of useful pockets.
Sorry, can't remember what size or style I went for but don't seem to remember it being vastly different to my own size?

Also, much better fit than a previous North Face coat.

I sized up a couple of sizes to get my down jacket under there amongst other layers. I bought after the sizing had changed (2014 from memory).

DD has got the teenage coat. The large size would fit an 8-10 if you didn't have long arms. Colours are generally limited to navy or black or purple in the girls styles ime.

Love my didriksons mary. It is the warmest coat ever and the big hood makes every other waterproof coat I own pale into insignificance as nothing measures up. Quite looking forward to getting it back out the wardrobe actually!

Definitely the warmest coat I own. It has been washed (following instructions) and is still waterproof. It's fabulous- wind proof and waterproof.

I am a 12-14 and have an old Taylor from 2013 that's a 40 and an Ida from this year that's a 42. I would have been OK in the Ida 40 but I think they changed the sizing in 2013 - I'd definitely call Viking Kids for advice.

I always look forward to winter so I can wear my parka again! I have my eye on the Vega in black for this winter - £180 is a lot of money but I've worn my others so much, and been so warm and dry, that it feels like money well spent.

Another tall person who loves that Scandi sizing! Can't remember which parka I have as it's a few years old but it is lovely and warm and properly waterproof. The only downside is that the fur trim looks a bit cheap and is held on with loops and buttons that are easily broken. But they might have changed that.

I bought mine earlier this year after searching high and low for reviews. I don't regret my purchase, pricy as it was(!). I have the Angelina parka, it's very cosy. Mine is a 38 (12), I got it from Viking Kids, they had already sized it to be true to size, so I didn't have to work out if I should get the 38 or 40. I love the long sleeves, all the pockets.

My fur trim is held on with buttonholes and buttons, I've taken it off until dark winter arrives, doesn't seem like it would break too easily on mine.

Would anyone know where I could buy a spare metal button from?
I've lost the button keeping my hip pocket closed but can't remember where I bought my parka from.
