I'm after a proper old fashioned denim mini (not too mini though!) skirt, straight not A-line and no buttons. I realise that this is far from being 'in' but I like them.

I also want some really lovely big scarves - ideally a burnt orange one, a bright pink one and a red one.

Also, a pleated red skirt and the perfect grey v neck jumper.

You?

That's annoying remus

I tend to get most of my white company from eBay anyway, might be worth trying on there?

Floisme · 25/08/2016 18:59

Lord above, I'm a Whistles fan (although I never pay full price) but they're having a laugh with that camisole, surely?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2016 20:40

It puts me off even looking in Whistles tbh. Bonkers.

I am feeling v virtuous. Just sorted and culled my wardrobe, so everything is looking all A/W ready. It is, as always, an awful lot of black and grey! Wardrobe gaps confirmed as a long grey cardigan, at least one shortish but not too short skirt (hopefully the M&S kilt or something similar), black mid-heeled ankle boots, and brown shoes (maybe brogues or something low heeled and a bit clumpy).

Things I'm looking for.

Ankle length, A-line black and white striped cotton skirt, must be full, stripes must be vertical and narrow. Impossible! I've seen pictures, but can I find one? Ha!

Black silk shirt that doesn't cost a fortune.

Black leather combat boots.

Long lace skirt, white is good, off white even better.

Khaki green t-shirts, TU had a nice one last year but sold out before I could buy any. I don't mind scoop neck or v-neck, as long as it's pure decent quality cotton and I'm only willing to pay up to £6. And no pockets.

coppergrey · 25/08/2016 21:13

H&M have some nice khaki t-shirts in at the moment, Sapphire - I nearly bought one the other day but resisted as god knows I have enough t-shirts. Scoop neck, very soft, no pockets.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2016 21:47

Somebody posted a nice khaki t-shirt on here a while back. I think it was from Cos.

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2016 21:48

Almost certainly more than £6 if Cos!

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2016 21:49

M&S have one for £6.50 here

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2016 21:52

Cos one here £12 but the quality is probably v good.

Yay! Thank you lovely people. Smile

WeetabixLorry · 25/08/2016 22:03

I want Christmas jumpers to stick around for another few years Blush

Actually, jumpers in general... I want good, thick, warm jumpers with full length sleeves, ideally in a material that doesn't get bobbly too soon, but not too synthetic either.

Some years you just CAN'T find a decent winter jumper unless you look in the men's section. Last year it was fine but the year or two before that, it was all 3/4 or short sleeves (what's the point? if it's cold enough to wear a THICK jumper why would I want half my arms exposed?!), weird zips or buttons on the back, hole-y design, deep low cut neck (again... cold) etc.

At the same time I dont want it to be completely frumpy. It's just so hard to find the perfect jumper sigh.

My favourite jumper from last year was actually a cheap, thick poncho from Amazon. Sigh... So cosy. I am secretly excited about Autumn arriving so I can start wearing my snuggly poncho, boots, and opaque tights again.

DailyFailAteMyFish · 25/08/2016 22:34

Hermione, where do the brown brogues come from?

HermiioneSnape02 · 26/08/2016 07:56

Thanks Remus.
I have been wanting a pair for ages but I've been put off by not knowing what to wear with them.
I'm wearing them this morning with ankle grazer jeans and white tshirt. Pretty plain but hopefully classy?? That's the look I'm trying to go for now. I've spent so many years trying to follow fashion trends and not quite getting it right Grin
So now I've given up.
Daily - they are from New Look. Real leather in their sale £20.99, the reason I thought sod it And bought them Smile

Gillybobs · 26/08/2016 08:49

Boden have lovely relaxed v necks in their clearance. Just bought a gorgeous poppy red. They are a nice wool mix and don't bobble ( I bought a full price one months ago)

coppergrey · 26/08/2016 09:20

So it turns out I did actually buy the khaki t-shirt from H&M... Blush

Wearing it today and it's lovely! It was £7.99.

SapphireSeptember · 26/08/2016 12:26

copper I do that too! Usually with make up or nail polish. I've taken to making lists of the things I want, so I know what I haven't bought yet.

Feedback as promised- very nice heavyweight winter fabric, I'd ordered both lengths thinking at 44 the 18inch might be too mini (5'4"), but actually it looked much more stylish than the 21inch. Tried with both a burnt orange top and burgundy one, although it looks quite orangey in pic, the red hue went much better with the burgundy. Also 20% off skirts so rather pleased.
Flowers for original link Remus
Also found sought after charcoal opaque's in John Lewis. Win win day!

SpaghettiMeatballs · 26/08/2016 18:55

Haven't bought anything for AW yet as I have two weddings in the next fortnight so been buying for them.

I think I will want some low heeled ankle boots and a smart coat with a hood for starters.

DailyFailAteMyFish · 26/08/2016 20:54

Off to new look! Thanks Hermione!

EnidButton · 26/08/2016 21:14

Great feedback Nearly. How tall are you? I'm 5'6 and tried holding the tape measure against my thigh to check lengths but wasn't sure if the 18inch wasn't about two inches too long for me. I need to just go and try it.

calzone · 26/08/2016 21:26

I'm looking for a navy dress.

Classic
With sleeves
Good length
Not frumpy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/08/2016 21:47

Great to hear that the mini is a winner. Am going to try it on tomorrow.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/08/2016 21:49

How did get 20% off, Doc?

OP posts:
Nearlyadoctor · 26/08/2016 22:08

Enid I'm 5'4" and probably wouldn't want it much shorter, especially as it's a line, but that's probably down to personal preference.

Remus 20% was on M&S Sparks card offer.

The only thing I didn't mention and it may just be that I didn't look close enough at the web image, is that the grey mini is on a navy base not black as I first thought.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/08/2016 22:25

Grrr. All Sparks has given me is money off food I don't buy and dressing gowns I don't want!
