I'm after a proper old fashioned denim mini (not too mini though!) skirt, straight not A-line and no buttons. I realise that this is far from being 'in' but I like them.

I also want some really lovely big scarves - ideally a burnt orange one, a bright pink one and a red one.

Also, a pleated red skirt and the perfect grey v neck jumper.

You?

Ah thanks Remus. That's the exact colour I am looking for, but I think it may too short for me. I'm carrying a bit shitloads of baby weight a year on from giving birth so not feeling overly confident about my shape, hence needing something knee length. Perfect colour though

ChoccyJules · 28/08/2016 22:46

Where is all the nightwear hiding?! Tried Joules and Boden but hardly finding anything on their search, almost like the pages are down, White Company don't cater for me (size 18) and Cyberjammies have either very warm or very cool (cami tops). I would like a couple of nightshirts (actually long t shirts), ie short-sleeved and cover my btm, maybe to mid thigh. Have I got to go to M&S (where I got my last ones several years ago)?! Was hoping for more style...if that's possible.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 30/08/2016 14:43

Remus
Haven't read back over the thread again so you may have already discounted this denim skirt from M&S.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/08/2016 15:42

Thanks, Pizzas.

I had previously tried and discounted it, but ended up buying it yesterday! It's a bit sticky outier at the back than I'd hoped for, but it looks okay with tights and is short enough to be short without being indecent. I think it will be fine with a jumper, tights and boots.

I bought the darker denim one, as the light one is too light. I'm still going to keep on looking for a mid-blue one.

Just bought a couple of things.

this dress

jumper

And the photos are Betty Barclay tops out of the sale.
I prefer layers as I overheat a lot even in the winter so these will be great with a nice chunky cardigan. Has anyone seen one? Preferably oatmeal/cream or navy blue.

Winter coat hunters - TK Maxx have had a delivery. Our local branch isn't so great these days but even here they've got Jaegar, French Connection, North Face, Michael Kors and more black leather jackets than you can shake a stick at.
I'm hoping I can find my rainy day walk to work coat somewhere in that lot.

Mumstudentbum · 30/08/2016 22:43

I'm looking for
some nice cashmere jumpers that are low neck
some skirts that cover my huge bottom and don't look too short on my 5ft9 body (knee length)
Tan ankle boots that are not suede and are wide fit
A black wool coat, again knee length with a bit of shape and pref a hood

Any ideas? Grin

doctorboo · 31/08/2016 14:05

Just had a look on M&S and the denim mini's are down to £6.99

I'm going to be asking for some longer length cashmere jumpers and cardigans for my (December) birthday.
I love my cashmere poncho but it's only good for dry Autumn/mild winter days.

Cellardoor23 · 31/08/2016 14:10

I REALLY want a mulberry satchel in oak. I've seen one on one of the 'pre-loved' sites and they are genuine. Do you think £579 is too much? Or should I just go for it? I don't know! Blush

EnidButton · 31/08/2016 15:40

Any jumper dresses around yet?

I got a brilliant one from Gap last year. Wine colour, thick ribbed stretchy wool type material, very fitted but looked casual. Great with opaque tights and booties. Would love more like that.

EnidButton · 31/08/2016 15:41

Cellar If you want one with a capital really and you can afford it without using every penny you have then I say get it. I can't afford one but would if I could as I love them too. You'll still want one next year so get it now. Grin

QueenSpartacusOfTheAndals · 31/08/2016 16:38

I saw the M&S tartan mini yesterday but it looks a lot duller instore :( Also it has blue rather than black tones and I always wear black tights or leggings.

DailyFailAteMyFish · 31/08/2016 17:06

I seek an oatmeal/bicuit coloured top or cardigan. Preferably for around £20.
Also, what colour shoe with navy tights?

Cellardoor23 · 31/08/2016 17:32

buttons I can afford it I'm just worried it will be a frivolous purchase (which i suppose it is) I'm just tired of lugging my changing bag around, I want to be a bit more stylish! I have a Pacopod so I was thinking of just using the pods and having a cross body bag for me. Urgh I don't know. I feel like I'm having one of those midlife crisis' but an after baby crisis if that makes sense lol

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/08/2016 17:47

Queen - I'll wear the M&S tartan mini with black tights/tops anyway. I wear pretty much every skirt with a black top though!

OP posts:
EnidButton · 31/08/2016 18:14

Cellar It is frivolous on that you don't need it but it'll make you feel good when you use it, it's something just for you not baby related and if we just bought things we needed then imo that'd be boring. Life's too short to have a bag you just like rather than the one you love.

EnidButton · 31/08/2016 18:16

Saw someone with a really nice red tartan mini today. The fabric looked really thick too. Considered asking where it was from but it wasn't really the place.

Cellardoor23 · 31/08/2016 18:33

Ok buttons I think I'm going to get it! Problem is there's another small Bayswater in burgundy which is really nice as well. Or do you think I should just stick to the oak?

doctorboo · 31/08/2016 18:57

Cellar I'm not sure what style bag you should get but you should definitely treat yourself. It's nice getting a lot of use out of something which also looks pretty Grin

my youngest is 14 months and I've ditched the nappy bag and use a mid size leather bag which can hold my stuff plus a few nappies, wipes and a bottle for DS3.
This is my bag currently holding my paperwork plus hidden baby stuff.

EnidButton · 31/08/2016 19:11

I think oak if that was the first one you fell in love with. Feel like it'll get more use.

EnidButton · 31/08/2016 19:13

Although I am a burgundy fan in general.

Cellardoor23 · 31/08/2016 19:13

Hi doctorboo I'm after the smaller version of the Bayswater. I think the bigger one will be well, too big lol. But the one I'm looking at is the small Bayswater buckle bag. Is it possible to attach a long strap to it? As I prefer to have them hang a bit lower or cross body.

DailyFailAteMyFish · 31/08/2016 21:01

Someone was looking for a burgundy cord skirt I think? Tescos have them with buttons down the front.

Buttonmoonb4tea · 01/09/2016 09:12

Daily it was me who wanted the cord skirt. I've ordered an M&S one from eBay. Hopefully should arrive today or tomorrow, thanks for the heads up on tesco though

doctorboo · 01/09/2016 12:09

cellar is this the one? I looooove it.
