Bare minerals lipstick
-Tarte mascara- done
Body shop camomile cleanser
Liz Earle body lotion
-RM DNA renewal eye cream- done
Talika day cream
-Philosophy shower gel- done
-REN retinol night cream- done
Bourjois pink liquid lipstick
Elemis apricot toner
Rodial facial oil
-Light blue perfume- done
-Tata Harper mini rejuvenating serum-

Finished the Tata Harper serum last night. Love the feel and smell of this but can't justify the cost sadly.

Ememem84 · 26/09/2016 21:42

Took some minatures into work. Loads of hand creams. Will rotate.

MrsDilligaf · 27/09/2016 08:06

Still love the rose oil (be still my beating heart...)

I treated myself to a facial while I was at centre parcs and it was a (very generous full size) freebie.

I have hidden it at the back of my shelf in the bathroom because knowing DH he'd find it and use half of it when he does his weekly ritual of coming downstairs to tell me he's moisturised!

I wholeheartedly agree - this thread is about getting joy from using things, and for me, because I am focusing on using a product up (and therefore using it for quite some time) I am finding out which ones are real holy grail products and not just things I've bought because of the fancy pants packaging. It has been quite a revelation in some cases.

Another one done! The Elelmis apricot toner. I like this but am always sceptical of what this stage (post acid toner) actualy does, but I enjoy it.

I'm glad this is gone as I fancy a change, think I have another in the cupboard but have opened a caudalie spray that I bought in a pharmacy binge in France this summer.

dogdaydisaster · 27/09/2016 10:02

I have also just polished off an almond mini hand ream from L'Occitane. Love this; it came from last year's advent calendar.

Ememem84 · 27/09/2016 18:58

Started a clarins travel size hydra quench cream. Feeling all sorts of run down so have done a home made facial.

IPokeBadgers · 28/09/2016 10:21

Another voice to agree that the thread has become about joy: I know that in the months this thread has been running I have changed many of my habits relating to spending on beauty "stuff" and toiletries. I am definitely using my products much more consciously and really enjoying them.

Mind you, I am now entering the danger zone of Autumn when I (for a number of reasons) tend to overspend as an emotional crutch....plus all the lovely Christmassy gifts start to appear and I like to get "value for money" so tend to take advantage of discounts etc.

But even taking that into account, I am definitely not pissing away anything like the amounts of money that I used to on stash/hoard building....and my savings account is definitely a testament to that! Smile

FiveShelties · 28/09/2016 18:14

I thought I was doing really well, but have just moved into a small apartment before moving again next year and I have lots and lots of stuff. It was all over in the house, in bathroom, shower room, wardrobes etc etc an now have hardly anywhere to put it so it looks what it is ---- a lot! Determined effot now for the next six months to get rid of it all (well a lot of it anyway). Grin

kwick · 28/09/2016 18:27

Well said mrs!!!

I wish my savings account had improved badgers

FrustratedFrugal · 28/09/2016 19:20

FiveShelties that happened to me too - we moved house last year, I found hidden hoarded stuff and we have much less cupboard space, and I realized I will stay on this thread for years. Blush

But I really enjoy the joyful vibe here.
I like my old stuff more, I like each new purchase more, and I am slowly but steadily gaining shelf space and cupboard space!

MrsDilligaf · 28/09/2016 20:40

Frugal I wouldn't worry about being on here for years - I think we all will be Grin

I am having my hair cut tomorrow. And I mean cut Shock It is currently around bra strap length (maybe a touch longer) but I am in need of a change and since DD has taken to pulling it, I am chopping it off.

This drastic change does have advantages - I will need to wash and style my hair more frequently so my hair products stash will shrink and because I will be doing my hair, I'll wear more make-up. And because I am wearing more make up I will be double cleansing more often. Oh my god! The stash will disappear Grin

That's the spirit mrsdiligaf. We are all about joy. The joy of products and smelling delicious! I'm slowly cutting down but also heard that lush have released their Autumn/winter specials and I love their bath things! Arghhhhh

kwick · 29/09/2016 06:15

Happy Thursday!!!
Quite a few empties here today:

  • Molton Brown templetree bosy lotion travel size - not too keen on smell
  • Bodyshop Rainforest Balance conditioner for oily hair travel size - ok but very hard to get out of bottle Angry
-Oral B pro expert travel size - my lovely dentist keeps me stocked with these so I have a stash
  • Tonymoly nutra energy foam cleanser - lovely feel but a sachet and Korean so I have no clue on the ingredients
  • Nivea body moisturiser in-shower sachet - love this stuff and the lovely person who gave me a whole stash of them, great for when I travel like now
AnotherPinkiePieStory · 29/09/2016 19:48

Nice work kwick.
I've another plan. By the deadline of end of this week I'm going to bin the rubbish make-up that I've tried and tried with but just looks bad! Most is prob out of date too!
I will post on here but figure that life is too short to keep trying stuff that is rubbish. Not obvs stuff like shower gel that I've grown bored of but stuff like the Kiko eye shadow that I own 4 of (sali Hughes recommended) but that creases like crazy and makes me look 90! Will post list so you guys can avoid too!

kwick · 29/09/2016 21:52

Sounds like a plan another!

Another empty:
Trial size Decleor aroma cleanse tonifying lotion - meh

kwick · 30/09/2016 06:17

Two more empties!!!

  • Decleor aroma cleanse cleansing milk trial size - nothing to write home about
  • Creme de la Mer reparative skin tint trial size - the first I used this I did not like how it went on, dragging the skin. But this time I had a lot of moisturiser on and it went on fine. Lets see if I come out in spots as I normally do after using la mer products
MrsDilligaf · 30/09/2016 07:04

kwick you're doing so well. When you have finished your hoard come and stay with me for a week and give me a hand Grin

Today I am going to bin a nail polish. It is nowhere near empty but I can't get a perfect finish with it. I have 4 coats on - the first coat gave a wash of colour, 2nd was very streaky, 3rd evened things up slightly and the 4th coat just filled in the gaps. Quite honestly who has time to do a 6 coat manicure? It's going in the bin!

I am a bit surprised as it is an Avon polish and I generally find them to be reasonable.

OP posts:
FrustratedFrugal · 30/09/2016 08:02

Yes bin that polish!
I used up a men's anti-dandruff shampoo travel bottle that has been littering our shower shelf forever.

Dreadful stuff but the travel bottle is actually great and I'll keep it.

kwick · 30/09/2016 09:24

You see thing is mrs one side of me is saying "give me your hoard" but the other is saying "your flat is overunning with beauty products and you need your space!"....
I have been in Germany all week and had planned to visit an amazeballs drugstore called DM, but in the end time has not allowed (bloody work work work) - probably a good thing.

usernameinfinito · 30/09/2016 21:01

MrsDiligaf I have the same problem, I tend to stock up when there are 'sales'. I am aware now that they are always on 'sale', so I only buy what I need. However, I needed a concealer, so I have bought a NYX concealer and it has worked beautifully.
I have finished a vanilla soap bar, a papaya hair mask, a REN cleanser sample bottle and a 50ml Fragonard Jasmine Perfume.

I have used up 18 items since I started posting here. Smile

kwick · 30/09/2016 21:08

Well done user!
Where did you get the NYX concealer from?

kwick · 30/09/2016 21:11

I have another empty - one from my 13 by Halloween: Botanics lavender oil... best before date september 2012....!!!!!!

FrustratedFrugal · 30/09/2016 21:15

Will be in Greece tomorrow. Korres & Apivita danger zone... and I like Greek sun products too.

The best thing about travel - hitting exotic, tempting drugstores and discovering local beauty brands.

usernameinfinito · 30/09/2016 22:21

Thank you kwick!
I got it from Boots www.boots.com/en/NYX-3c-palette-conceal-correct-contour_1779472/
It does not have good reviews, but I have a friend who is a make-up artist and she uses that, she recommended me this product. It worked for me. Smile

woodhill · 01/10/2016 08:23

I did buy a night cream and skin oil in M&S yesterday half price.

Cancelled beauty box for a while.

Used up shower Creme and Clinique serum.
