For those that love designer bags, if money was no object way bag would you treat yourself to?
Or which bag are you hankering after at the moment?

My DH bought me a mulberry Anthony satchel for my birthday (it is only new to me - offve eBay) but I absolutely LOVE it!! Grin

I am lusting after this by Bottega Veneta. It's the perfect shade of blue for this Autumn and winter.

I love this one as well, also Bottega Veneta. Love the colour, it's gorgeous.

Love this thread!

I've really got into bags in the last few years. Love Mulberry, I have an oak large Antony messenger which I don't love but it's practical for days out. I also have a small east west Bayswater in purple patent, haven't used that one for a while.

Last year I treated myself to a grey mulberry for passing a course I was studying for. I can't remember the name but it's fairly compact with 2 compartments and a metal bar between them. I really love it, it was around £700 which is about the most I could justify spending on a bag.

Now I would love a mulberry mini kite in navy which was reduced to £450 in the sale but I dithered and the sale's finished now Sad

I don't know if coach counts as designer but I bought a scout hobo in tan half price in the sale Smile

Dancergirl · 14/08/2016 04:32

My grey mulberry is a mini Kensingon in mole grey - gorgeous bag.

Ahh, I have found my people!

I love bags, I always have, they're most definitely my 'thing'. It's only recently that I've been able to afford more high end bags; I've currently got 5 Mulberrys but am planning on selling the 2 I use the least to buy either an LV or a Chloe Marcie.

If money were no object it would be a Bottega Veneta Roma .

I use mine all the time; I think it's a shame to keep them "for best". My bags make me smile every time I use them, my favourite out of my Mulberrys is probably my large DZ Bayswater tote in Hibiscus. Such a bright and happy colour!

A Chanel reissue with silver hardware.

Not going to happen while the kids are small though

JinkxMonsoon · 14/08/2016 10:29

I used to love Mulberry, when they were "affordable" (i.e. when a Bayswater was under £500). I used to have about eight, most of which I bought preloved. But I ended up selling most of them because life with kids meant they just didn't get used.

But I still have my Bayswater and Roxanne as a reminder of my days with disposable income Smile Also have an East/West Bayswater (now discontinued), a Marc Jacobs Stam, a MBMJ Groovee, and a little Balenciaga.

If I had infinite money I'd definitely buy a Birkin or a Kelly. It'll never happen Grin

NisekoWhistler · 14/08/2016 13:43

The birkin and Kelly are certainly hankered after, can totally understand why. Thanks for all the ideas.

The most useful that I own by far is the large Bottega intrecciato tote (about £2.6k). I have the grey version, so so good for flying (I travel a lot), takes a deceptive amount of stuff and always looks good (it gets beaten up a fair amount!). I'm waiting for the midnight blue to be reissued but the Bond Street store said it should be soon.

I used to work in a super corporate job and labelled bags always seemed wrong there so I used Valextra mainly, outside of work was a different matter!

Now I'm in a corporate creative role, I use whatever I like. I had a birkin but didn't like the weight. I have two Kellys which I love but I don't get on with the other Hermes bags.

Chanel jumbo maxi is very useful, but you have to try it in person or you may look wrong proportionally if you're not tall. Other sizes of she 2.55 or reissue I use a lot. I don't like the Boy, not me. I also love the Antigona, Fendi 2jours (the wear well), LV Sofia Coppola bowling bag, Saint Laurent bowling (the leather is a little sensitive though), Celine saddle bag and the new SL satchel (used a lot this summer).

I'm not great with small shoulder bags, unless it's for the evening, as I tend to carry a lot. I did get a Chloe tooled bag this season and using it quite a bit. I'm looking at the BV one up the thread but in burgundy for this season.

Clutch wise I love the McQueen special editions and Fendi embellished over to you or baguette. I bought a Bottega knotted clutch in gold/bronze metal this season, which has been very useful. For summer I love Alaia bags (cut out tote and clutches are very pretty).

I love style, fashion, design and interiors so I can't really say I'm a bag person really, I'm more an everything person..

My all time Balenciaga bag, Sienna Miller was very fond of hers too

Canters15 · 14/08/2016 19:02

Chanel flap or Chanel boy. Such lovely bags but don't think I could ever justify the cost.

I have a number of lovely handbags but don't seem to spend beyond 400-500, apart from my mulberry Bayswater which was a wedding present from DH. Quite fancy the older style alexa (with long strap so can be worn cross body) and may actually end up buying that later in the year...

verite · 14/08/2016 19:09

I've got a mulberry bayswater, a lily, a del ray and four others that I don't even know name of (bought years ago in sales). Also have an alexander mcqueen and an old fendi (which I don't like any more). I use them all the time - best way to get your money worth. I don't particularly lust after any bag. Quite happy with my haul.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 14/08/2016 20:46

Very similar to you Verite! I have Mulbery Bayswater, Lily, mini Bayswater, Del Rey and Cecily. Also have an old Fendi I don't like any more (my first ever designer purchase)! A couple of Vivienne Westwood, a Gucci Disco and a lovely nude YSL clutch. One of my faves is my Prada Grab Bag in a cornflower blue. All my bags are out on display on shelves and I change them around regularly. I have promised myself a Chanel one day but when the opportunity came up recently I somehow managed to talk myself out of it!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 14/08/2016 20:57

My favourite is an old Loewe which I've had for 17 years.

That and the Roxanne tote, loved that bad, don't wear it anymore, but keep it.
