Sick of perfumes just fading away in seconds, please tell me the good, strong, bold long lasting ones so I can finally find one!!!

OP posts:

Lancome Poeme in a bad way, I think, contrary to what a pp thought. Massive headache.
Diptyque Philosykos lingers on clothes, I find. I have occasionally picked out a scarf I haven't worn for months, and it's still there, smelling lovely.
Donna Karan Black Cashmere lasts for yonks, getting warmer and more resinous, like a sunny forest walk.
Miller Harris Fleur Oriental, Noix de Tubereuse, L'Air de Rien and Un Petit Rien also have remarkable staying power. I love them!

ShatnersBassoon · 09/08/2016 22:58

That's true about the Duty Free! Grin

storynanny · 09/08/2016 23:01

Calvin klein obsession

Jmangel · 10/08/2016 06:20

God Cabotine - I'm now 25, not a care in the world - sigh.

StUmbrageinSkelt · 10/08/2016 06:45

Francis Kurkdjian Oud. I don't like ouds much to begin with but this one is disgusting. And lingers and lingers.

MissBattleaxe · 10/08/2016 10:42

The three longest lasting perfumes I have ever owned ( and still own are)

Tauer Carillon Pour Un Ange- 15 hours minimum and once, even 24 hours.
Papillon Tobacco Rose- 15 hours.

And here's the cheap and cheerful- Panache. I love it. It lasts about 14 hours on me and is a terrific aldehyde that doesn't get enough love these days. If you like Rive Gauche, you'll very likely enjoy Panache too ( at 4.99!)

whattheseithakasmean · 10/08/2016 13:07

The smell probably isn't fading OP, you can just no longer smell it - I bet everyone around you can still smell it and wishes you would tone down your perfume! Seriously, excessive strong perfume use is vile for other people - it should be so light, someone needs to nuzzle you to catch a whiff. Most of those mentioned on this thread can be smelt in the next building - and that is not good.

lasttimeround · 10/08/2016 13:08

Guelain Samsara - I love this but careful big sillage
Chanel - Coco
Piguet - Fracas be v v careful v overpowering as the day goes on. I don't recommend actually wearing this
Poison

Jayne266 · 10/08/2016 13:09

Fragrance oils from body shop I used to get a coconut one you can still buy online. I always get comments on how nice they are throughout the day.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/08/2016 13:10

Lancome Tresor, in a very bad way. It has a lovely warmth and would be great if it was about a fifth of the strength.

In a good way, Buddhawood Box by 4160 Tuesdays. It seems to have impregnated itself into the wrists of my cashmere cardigans and it's lovely and woody.

lasttimeround · 10/08/2016 13:12

I think big sillage isn't really work (or other enclosed space appropriate) what you want is a perfume that lasts on the skin but doesn't carry so far. Some big sillage perfumes you can achieve that by mixing with oil and using the fragrance oil. Sounds wierd but I do that with samsara which I love but is too loud. With the oil it stays closer in so I get what I like without carrying a loud trail of scent. Altho i do notice dh and random people leaning in for a good sniff Grin

Igottastartthinkingbee · 10/08/2016 13:15

Coco mademoiselle Chanel. Lasts all day, I can't smell it by the end of the day but DH can.

expatinscotland · 10/08/2016 13:19

Chanel, all of them. 24 rue Faubourg. Samsara.

NotAQueef · 10/08/2016 13:21

Dior Addict. A tiny bit goes a loooong way. I love it

MUjunkie · 10/08/2016 13:21

The original juicy couture! That's the one I always go back to! Or Thierry muglers womanity! It hangs around for days but it's either a love it or hate it one!

Cockblocktopus · 10/08/2016 13:22

I don't think all the expensive Tom Ford perfumes last that long tbh. Tobacco Vanille and Plum Japonais both have great longevity but Cafe rose was terrible. Very disappointing because it's expensive and smells great. But wtf the point if it's gone so quickly.

Chanel 5 lasts for ever.

Jo Malone is awful. Good for summer when you want something light but it's gone so quickly so I won't re buy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/08/2016 14:37

No idea about all of the Tom Ford expensive ones, but sample sprays of Tuscan Leather have lasted over 24 hours, even with showers!

MyGirlDaisy · 10/08/2016 19:25

Another vote for Coco Mademoiselle here - I wear it everyday only need a tiny bit and the bottle lasts for ages.

WaitrosePigeon · 10/08/2016 20:08

Anything from Chanel.

Cockblocktopus · 11/08/2016 05:37

YY Remus, Tuscan leather lasts ages! I think it's all the original TF expensive ones that last well. More recent scents from the label have been disappointing.

101handbags · 11/08/2016 14:45

And another vote for Poison. I wore it all the time at uni. I don't wear it any more but I do still love the smell of it. Trouble is, it's just so distinctive, like Flowerbomb and Angel (two other strong ones). My sister wears Flowerbomb, I love it but people do stink out my train carriage with it Smile

cressetmama · 11/08/2016 16:43

I can't think of any other real stinkers to add. But I would like to know how to make the Prada scents some find long lasting last longer on me! I moisturise, but it doesn't make much difference.

JuneBalloon · 11/08/2016 16:50

Vaseline on your pulse (perfume) points before you spray will help it last - plus using eau de parfum instead of eau de toilette will really help. I'm a big fan of more 'heady' scents (tho draw the line at poison or lulu!) like amber, patchouli and oud which also helps the perfume to last the distance.

imreallyamermaid · 11/08/2016 16:53

Hugo deep red by Hugo Boss, i've worn it for years and i still love it and it's longevity!
Clinique happy seems to linger on me quite well also.

RoosterCogburn · 11/08/2016 16:57

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille & Tuscan Leather
Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle
