Best everyday MAC lipstick

I haven't shopped at MAC in a while so feel a bit out of the loop. I have got some vouchers that are burning a hole in my pocket so want to purchase a new lipstick (or 2).

I prefer Matt / longer lasting as I'm rubbish at remembering to reapply and likely to smudge anything glossier.

Recommendations please!

I've loved taupe sim be the 90s and it's still a great shade that looks good on everyone.

I came on to say Patisserie but it's lustre finish so not matte or long lasting. So I would also suggest Twig.

I love MAC's Touch, a kind of mid brown neutral, though not sure if it's an 'officially' long lasting one or not (think it was from their regular range).

Twig for warm colouring, Mehr for cool colouring. Both pink natural shade but twig more browny pink, mehr more bluey pink.

I think Velvet Teddy might be a bit dark for me, I haven't tried it but have seen swatches. I know it's super popular tho so maybe I should take the plunge and try it out?

Has anyone tried the new (I think?) longwear lipstain markers? On paper they sound great, but I fear they will be pretty drying?

Creme in your coffee is one of my favourite every day colours, pinky brown.

But I think it has a bit of sheen and I do tend to reapply

It really depends on your colouring - I wanted a Mac nude colour and bought Honeylove based on recommendations - it was way too pale on me and makes me look ill, as if I've plastered concealer on my lips. I have olive skin and usually look as if I have a bit of a tan, so maybe I need a darker 'nude' than your average person?

I now have Velvet Teddy and it's the perfect nude for me - like no lipstick but much better.

By the way, if anybody wanted to do a swapsy for my Honeylove lipstick (used a couple of times), for something else, I would be open to offers!

BTW if it doesn't have to be Mac, Bourjois Rouge Edition in (04) Rose Tweed is also a lovely nude with a bit of pinkyness in it.

LaConnerie is right. I bought Hue as an everyday colour, and it made me look jaundiced! Whether you have a cool or warm skintone, and pale, medium or deep will influence which colours suit you.

I've got Fanfare, Mehr and Twig sitting in my basket. Going to see if my vouchers will cover all 3. They're a mix of finishes so fingers crossed I'll find one that works.

Brave is a nice pinky nude matte. However I have recently bought an Urban Decay vice lipstick (backtalk) which is a similarish colour and also matte and I much prefer it over Mac.

I wear viva glam v everyday. It is my favourite
I bought velvet teddy based on the recommendations but hated it. Was far to dark for me, but everyone is different. Best to go to a Mac make up counter and try them out

Creme in your coffee is great for a wearable neutral (I'm warm complexioned). Love Mac lipsticks.
