I think you have to find the one that suits your skin pinkissimo
For me I have oily, acidic skin, no wrinkles and I sweat when I'm hot, so a perfume lasts but changes.
I like the first and second part of a perfume to be strong, (not high, acidic, in your face like cabochon) but strong enough to be heard, then the perfume has to ease off on the base notes or they just last and last on me, and it smells unbalanced after a while. I tend to burn off the top notes quickly.
I tried florabotanica and rosabotanica by Balenciaga (Coty)recently, and the next day I honked... all the lovely green and floral parts had disappeared, leaving something that smelled like church pews, and wet dog. yuk.
Pity as I love Balenciaga Paris, with its strong top and mid notes. I got that one as a gift and I'm rationing it! I have a tiny amount of opium from the 90s left, and I love the oriental vibe in Autumn... A tiny bit goes a long way.
It's essential for me to try them out.
Strangely, I like womanity by Thierry mughler (it's quite leathery) but Angel and alien are too strong in the base, and last for days... Same for fumes like L'aimant... I find them suffocating and cloying. Let's not mention red door.
For someone with dry skin, who doesn't sweat at the drop, or rather the rise of a degree, maybe these base strong ones would suit? except for red door, which suits no one
Does anyone know if there's a dove perfume yet? I really like that smell: Milky/ creamy floral musk, without the tuberose.
