Chanel Cristalle - daytime
Acqua di Parma - daytime

Georgio Armani Si. Was given a free sample on holiday last year. Loved it so bought a bottle at the airport on way home. Also love Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I used to be a Chanel devotee but don't enjoy wearing it anymore.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 29/07/2016 10:38

I like perfumes that smell like very old ladies' handbags BlushGrin The type of perfumes that linger on your clothes.

I wear L'Aimant in bed each night. Chanel no 5 Eau Premiere is my absolute favourite day time perfume but I only have a teeny bit left as its so expensive.

In winter I wear Paloma Picasso. I also like Lush Karma. For Christmas I adore Gloria by Cacharel but it's not available and very £££ so I wore Opium last year (it smelt a bit Frankincense and Myrhh and I liked it, it was a sample so I'm deciding whether it's worth saving for to get for this Christmas).

At the moment I also wear Deseo by JLo which I was Hmm but it was recommended by the perfumistas on here and I love it, especially the price! A summer perfume. If it's very hot and I'm camping (I have very specific uses for my perfumes Smile) I like Paul Smith Rose.

I have a teen DD who has inherited The Perfume Love so I also have Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely so we can "share" it.

PinkissimoAndPearls · 29/07/2016 10:39

It's interesting that so many people wear Jo Malone, I love the smells but they all smell like air freshener on my skin. It's very odd.

VenusRising · 29/07/2016 16:56

I think you have to find the one that suits your skin pinkissimo
For me I have oily, acidic skin, no wrinkles and I sweat when I'm hot, so a perfume lasts but changes.

I like the first and second part of a perfume to be strong, (not high, acidic, in your face like cabochon) but strong enough to be heard, then the perfume has to ease off on the base notes or they just last and last on me, and it smells unbalanced after a while. I tend to burn off the top notes quickly.

I tried florabotanica and rosabotanica by Balenciaga (Coty)recently, and the next day I honked... all the lovely green and floral parts had disappeared, leaving something that smelled like church pews, and wet dog. yuk.

Pity as I love Balenciaga Paris, with its strong top and mid notes. I got that one as a gift and I'm rationing it! I have a tiny amount of opium from the 90s left, and I love the oriental vibe in Autumn... A tiny bit goes a long way.

It's essential for me to try them out.

Strangely, I like womanity by Thierry mughler (it's quite leathery) but Angel and alien are too strong in the base, and last for days... Same for fumes like L'aimant... I find them suffocating and cloying. Let's not mention red door.

For someone with dry skin, who doesn't sweat at the drop, or rather the rise of a degree, maybe these base strong ones would suit? except for red door, which suits no one

Does anyone know if there's a dove perfume yet? I really like that smell: Milky/ creamy floral musk, without the tuberose.

Indecisivejo · 29/07/2016 17:02

These are my faves that I wouldn't hesitate in buying....
*bvlgari femme
*noa
*elizabeth Arden green tea

PinkissimoAndPearls · 29/07/2016 17:30

Venus my DD loves Dove, there is a smell alike sold by Perfume Parlour. It's actually very good.

You're right about the skin, Alien is definitely one I cannot wear. DH almost retched Grin I like it on (selected) other people though.

EllenDegenerate · 29/07/2016 17:35

Dior Addict
Dior Miss Dior but only le parfum. The way de parfum/eau de toilette are absolutely vile.

Very Valentino

YSL Paris

hollyisalovelyname · 29/07/2016 18:30

I really dislike Coco Mademoiselle and as you dislike it now perhaps your taste will be more like mine.
I wear Chanel Jersey.
Coty Wild Musk
Rituals Yin
Ted Baker Polly
Body Shop Red Musk

dementedma · 29/07/2016 20:31

I love Dove too!

balkanscot · 29/07/2016 20:35

I adore Mitsouko by Guerlain during Autumn/Winter. Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford for Summer. I loved Isabella Rossellini's Manifesto but sadly it had been discontinued some time ago. Sad

Roystonv · 29/07/2016 20:38

Hermes Caleche, Estee Lauder Private Collection and for every day the Bronnley citrus range of eau de toilettes - orange and jasmine, lemon and neroli etc

Footle · 30/07/2016 07:18

Venus, I used to love Opium too.
I still have some ancient Mary Quant Havoc which I like to sniff occasionally, though I don't actually use it.

pinkmagic1 · 30/07/2016 07:28

Dior Addict, Givenchy Hot Coture and Jean Paul Gautier Madame. My all time favourite was Givenchy Fleur d Interdit that is sadly discontinued. I have a vintage bottle but sadly it has turned a bit. I tend to like most Givenchy perfumes.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/07/2016 07:34

L'Air du Desert Marocain, by Andy Tauer. Deliciously filthy.

brightnearly · 30/07/2016 12:17

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine&Basilic - delicious (if you like citrussy scents, that is).

I much prefer Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria range over Jo Malone.

Clarin's Eau Dynamisante and Eau des Jardins (again, if you like citrussy frangrances)

La Prairie Midnight Rain (delicious fruity/vanilla/powdery) and Silver Rain (cool and very mysterious). But those are expensive...

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/07/2016 12:58

I'm currently wearing Philosykos by Diptiqye.

I love, love, love it.

Sixpencenonethericher · 30/07/2016 16:14

Lush Karma, I've worn it for years. I used to equally love their Orange Blossom perfume but it's been discontinued.

AMR123456 · 30/07/2016 16:22

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. Fell in love with it. Nothing else matches upto it. Expensive but soooo worth it X

VenusRising · 02/08/2016 00:22

What are we like sniffing old bottles from long ago!

Very evocative I find.

I have an old bottle of dune which brings back memories, as does ysl champagne.
Still classy, is that a fig? What do you think about the roger and gallet fig? Or the loccitaine fig and Osmanthus? I like the loccitaine one.

I tried some jo Malones the other day, and came away with one arm sprayed with pomegranate noir, and Amber& ginger lily, and the other sprayed with cardamom &mimosa and also earl grey &cucumber. All absolutely true and lovely, even later. Of all of them the mimosa one faded most.

The cucumber and earl grey tea became this gorgeous creamy smooth smell (a bit like dove) The amber one turned into a delicious dusky golden drop, and the pomegranate was a fruity spicy warm breath. Pretty good in all.
They are pricy though.

HearCerseiRoar · 02/08/2016 00:49

Another one for Chanel Allure and Givenchy Very Irresistable. I also like Givenchy Hot Couture because it's my mam's signature scent and brings back a lot of childhood memories (sitting on her bed watching her get ready for parties).

My own signature scent is Naughty Alice by Vivienne Westwood. I also like a little sprinkle of French rose water now and again, and I have a pot of natural amber rock that I rub between my hands and on my wrists, smells gorgeous!

Tartyflette · 02/08/2016 01:20

I love citrus scents for the summer, my favourite is Dior's Escale à Portofino, which, unusually for me, has good staying power although it's a bit in your face. Love Chanel Cristalle too.
Eau de Guerlain and Eau Impériale (also Guerlian) are both classic citrus colognes; good but lighter and more fleeting.

Eau de Givenchy in its Les Mythiques range is a lovely fresh summer floral but the price has shot up recently, it is over £90 in Harrods, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.

notamummy10 · 02/08/2016 01:28

Jo Malone - Cardamom and Mimosa, Peony and Raspberry & English Pear and Freesia.

Thierry Mugler - Alien

Giorgio Armani - Si

Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle

Ralph Lauren - 4 (the oriental scent in the purple bottle)

Vera Wang - Rock Princess

Marc Jacobs - Daisy Daydream and Dot

The Body Shop - all of the Musk perfumes (Rose Musk, White Musk and Black Musk).

I think that's it!
