Things you wish were true - kind of

I often look at ball gowns and full black tie regalia and wish that life involved these more often.

I am well and truly a jeans and hoodie girl who rarely wears makeup. But still wish I could swoosh around more often.

Posted too soon! Meant to add are there any things that you wish were part of daily life?

Clothes? Crazy make up? 80s hair dos?

I wish having nicely 'done' hair was part of everyday. Like a salon blow dry. A gal can dream.

That I could wear beautiful red lipstick and matching red nail varnish and go about my daily life.
I cannot

Though 80s hairdo........................bring it on. I am seriously considering a heavily cropped undercut and long upper layers next haircut. I need to find a hairdresser who will say "Yes, I see your vision" not "Really? Is that how you want to present yourself to the World?"

Lol go for the wacky younger ones. The hair dressers more willing to try things.

I would also like to add blue eyeliner to the list. I want blue eyeliner and I'm only 26.

That I could strut like a sexy diva in high heels, instead of stumbling along looking desperately for a seat...

Sequins and diamanté. I wish I could wear them all day every day and sparkle like a disco ball.

I would like to dress like 70s disco queen at all times. Puffy shoulders, nipped in waist, swishy skirt and full on farah fawcett hair.

Heels, I wish I could wear heels and that they would make me look elegant and ladylike.

Instead I look like a man in drag unless I'm having a very skinny day (unlikely in the holidays, at Christmas and times in between).

Hats and gloves, 1940s/50s style. Soooo smart!

Wish I could wear these everyday.

Wish I could wear lovely undies, stocking/suspenders etc for everyday stuff without either feeling like a kinky strip-a-gram or a trussed up turkey.

I've always had a longing to wear tiaras. If only they were an everyday jewellery/fashion item in the same way that wearing a nice necklace is...

lurking, if tiaras ever become everyday fashion items, you're going to have to fight me for first place in the front of the queue...

Tiaras are a great call. I also like the gloves and sequins. Ooh sequinned gloves?!

I'd like to dress like a Georgette Heyer heroine every day. Fancy myself in a lovely regency ballgown. Would probably only slam it in the car door all the time though, or something else equally inelegant.

In theory, I'd like the Georgian style dress bodice that has a really firm grip on your boobs. Anything to keep the buggers still.

I love the pride and prejudice bbc one dresses. But I always wondered if they dropped things down there during lunch or even used them as head rests if they fancied a snooze

YY to Pride and Prejudice dresses, but can I also have a boob job so I've got the figure to fill it out, please - or is that cheating?

Ps. Also want a Regency-style ladies maid to get me dressed, do my hair, make-up, pass on salacious gossip, etc.

Am getting carried away now, but I really want the natty little riding habit Lady Mary wears when she goes fox hunting in the first series of Downton.

Do you remember it? She had a little top-hat, worn at a jaunty angle, plus a birdcage veil. Very glam.

And if we're talking wish fulfilment, a beautiful chestnut mare as well please, to go with the outfit. Plus hunky, strong silent groom to care care of it ....

Flares or at least boot cut pants. Every two years all the magazines say they are 'coming back'. Every two years everyone still wears their skinnies. I look ok in skinnies. But I look great in something with a wider ankle. Can't wear them now without looking frumpy in the style stakes. Still. Whatever it says in Grazia.
