Ascot - help with shoes for this dress please!

So I have this dress for my day at ascot. We are in a box to I want to look tip top!

It doesnt seem to me to be a classic Ascot dress, but its all I have and I can't afford to buy anything else. I just need shoes and perhaps a hat / bag combo.

I have no idea where to start. Please help!!

Love the dress - just wanted to add that you don't need to fret too much about a hat as there is no Royal Enclosure except for the Royal Ascot meeting (last month), so the stricter dress code won't apply. Sounds like you will be in one of the posher bits though, so good excuse to wear a hat if you fancy it.

Yes there are no strict rules. Don't have to wear head gear. But would be nice to partake! I've never even gone as far as a fascinator before!

Thank you! Love the DP and Nine West ones, although prefer the blockier heel to stilletto. So you think gold would be nice, with my salmon pink clutch?

Yes I think gold would go well with the greeny colour on the dress. And IME it's hard to find white heels that don't look a bit cheap so I'd pick gold for that reason. Also gold could be tied in with jewellery.

Maybe something else to tie in the salmon pink. I'm picturing a gold necklace with pink stone, like this? But it may be the wrong pink.

Thanks Symbollocks. Love the bag but think it might look too busy with the dress. And the fascinator is the same colour as by clutch but is it too big?? I've never worn anything on my head and think I might feel a bit daft!!

Not sure about the shoes...the strappy things that go up your leg - my calves are big and I don't want to draw attention to them!

How about some kind of hair jewellery rather than a fascinator? Lots of lovely gold headbands, jewelled combs etc around, especially if you look at bridal stuff.
