Make up wearers - How often do you touch up of a day ?

I have a new colleague who is older but a classic beauty, perfectly groomed and made up .So I've stalked her and seen she she takes a little tote on each trip to the loo and touches up as well as hot brushes her hair with a battery brush thingy, tops up deodorant , perfume and brushes her teeth.
Excessive ?
I'm game to add at least some of the rituals as always just do am makeup and on occassion top up lipstick meaning I look crumpled and crap by the commute home.

Top up of powder and lippy.

April229 · 07/07/2016 17:27

Wow. I don't touch up. I put a numeral lip colour on and after that's gone I just use a tinted balm that I can apply at my desk. Use and expensive foundation that still looks good at the end of the day.

Abominablebride · 07/07/2016 17:32

Lipstick lots mainly because my lips feel dry without it

Powder maybe once more in the day with a brush.

Quick extra brush of hair and a spritz of perfume

I'm considered the 'made- up' one amongst my friends

twoboots1 · 07/07/2016 17:52

When i did nights and 80 hour weeks in a really dry environment, i used to brush my teeth, spray on some deoderant, brush my hair and slap on some tinted moisturiser and lip balm just to feel human- 2-3 times a day or night.

Now I work 12 hrs, 4 days a week and officebsed and the habit is down to 1-2 times a day

Heyheyheygoodbye · 07/07/2016 17:54

Literally never. On a big night out I might powder my nose and put some more lippy on but that's it!

NameChanger22 · 07/07/2016 19:37

I put makeup on the morning. Sometimes I wash it off in the evening. That's as much as I can be bothered to do.

AnotherPrickInTheWall · 07/07/2016 19:39

I wear a full but light make up for work. I choose a good foundation; Max Factor lasting performance, a slick of mascara, gel blush and lip stain as it lasts. No need to top up.
I find decent deodorant works for the entire day. I might spritz with a floral scent ,but never reapply.
I think it is important to well groomed at work; it doesn't have to involve a lengthy process unless say you work on a cosmetics counter.
I have done some really dirty/ physical jobs but have never skipped on the slap.
Hair wise, I just rub in some leave in conditioner for afro hair and spray with cheap hairspray to tame it.

I might manage make up for the morning school run, but then it does not get re-done at all.

If I don't manage it in the morning, I might put some on for the afternoon run. I also might not, like today! Totally make up free.

I could not be bothered with the routine your colleague seems to have going on. I have always worked in care until recently, so barely even time to go to the toilet, let alone all that faff!

Patterkiller · 07/07/2016 22:57

Never touch up. Burts Bees tinted lip balm at a push but just if my lips feel dry.

BerylStreep · 07/07/2016 22:57

Never

tidyfairy · 08/07/2016 00:04

Hey Flumplet. That's me too.

MyHouse2011 · 08/07/2016 07:46

violetbunny what are the eye drops?

Diddlydokey · 08/07/2016 08:35

We have a cabinet in the ladies for our make up and san pro. I brush my hair a few times as it is fine and gets straggly easily. I might touch up make up a little bit if I am going to see a client but generally don't bother. I wear EL Double Wear and that stuff doesn't budge!

Believeitornot · 08/07/2016 08:40

Since I got a decent primer then I don't need to touch up unless it's really warm and my oily face gets out of control.

I don't wear lipstick. I have quite full lips and think I'd look silly although I try every now and then. Then rub it off Grin

I think less make up is more if you want to look groomed. Heavy make up is for nights out!

MadisonMontgomery · 08/07/2016 10:36

I don't touch up my makeup - I reapply hand cream and lip balm throughout the day and that's it.

dudsville · 08/07/2016 10:43

I keep my lipstick in a pocket and touch that up. I check the make up on my nose hasn't gone weird. I might "zush" (spelling for this technical term?) my hair or check my clothes.

farmyardmud · 08/07/2016 10:48

I touch up lipstick but only after eating. I carry a powder compact with me but rarely use it except for the mirror, I used to be quite shiny and have to repowder but my skin has settled down as I've got older. I use clear lip balm through the day as well. I never do anything with my hair once I'm out the house.

WanderingNotLost · 08/07/2016 12:02

I take my concealer in my pocket or stashed in my bra if I have no pockets and touch that up if needed, and frequently re-apply tinted lip balm... that's pretty much it.

WanderingNotLost · 08/07/2016 12:05

That said, my morning make-up always includes the bloody brilliant Benefit primer and equally bloody brilliant Estée Lauder double wear foundation which tends to stay put unless I sweat like a pig...

ggirl · 08/07/2016 12:07

Never touch up.

Hardly have the time to have a wee.

teaandcake789 · 08/07/2016 14:15

Sometimes I redo my lipstick and I do take deodrant in my bag and use if I feel I need it (if it's very hot or I've had a meeting etc). I don't brush my hair as I never wear it loose. If it was loose though I would brush it constantly otherwise I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards

AlpacaPicnic · 08/07/2016 16:51

I barely manage to put makeup on most days. I don't touch up during the rare times I do though. I don't even brush my hair once it's done in the morning - but it tends to be up in a pony most of the day.

Maybe I should get a wee brush for my bag...

JigokuShojou · 08/07/2016 17:27

I don't have children, I'm just easily entertained.

Considering the weather here in HK. is unremittingly humid, hot and given to extreme summer rain storms in addition to my stressful, 10-11 hour job every day working with children, I bring a sizeable bag of makeup with me to work because I need to take any and all available opportunities to make sure that nothing has disappeared. I have a beauty shop nearby but I'd rather I didn't have to buy something if I needed it. I have a waterproof pressed powder but I alternate between sweating at shivering at work plus I feel ragged after I leave so it's nice to touch up.

JigokuShojou · 08/07/2016 17:29

I've tried waterproof loose fixing powder and setting sprays and (supposedly) waterproof foundation but they never really work.

becciandbump · 08/07/2016 17:49

I don't wear any makeup to work just if im going out or at weekends my skin is much better for it
