I've just put some on my toes. I fear it's a bit "ooh I'm crazee me".

Mum boot - boots your dear old mum would wear.

FanSpamTastic · 26/06/2016 23:09

Look - if it was me you saw - yes I have 5 different shades of blue on my nails. My dd wanted some blue nail varnish because she is going on a school trip and is in the blue team. We went shopping - she wanted to try them out but had painted her nails already. So she tried them on me. And I let her cos I love her and soon she won't want to go shopping with me anymore. Don't judge - you very rarely know the back story.

HoneyDragon · 26/06/2016 23:15

I'm trying copper, I'm bored of grey.

If I do blue I nearly always take it straight off again Grin

JackandDiane I love blue anything. Fear nothing, you of all posters can fool people into believing that you're hanging on to your sanity regardless of your nail polish colour Grin

(Put a pair of Fly London sandals into recycling today though Confused)

LBOCS2 · 26/06/2016 23:36

Do you ever spend a long time looking at something so it looks all wrong?

I was inspired by this thread, so did my nails blue. I tried to take a photo to show the shade, but I think I looked at it too long and now my hand looks weird.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 26/06/2016 23:43

Toes look great painted blue. I'm not so sure about fingernails sometimes (unless they're navy).

Please show us your photo LBOCS2

My toe nails are blue. Love them

ParadiseCity · 26/06/2016 23:49

My toe nails have been blue for 25 years. My eldest is 11 so it's not from being a mum, however, I suspect I just hit mum-style before my time. I used to have a lovely top until I saw Jane wearing it in Eastenders cafe!

LBOCS2 · 26/06/2016 23:54

Blue nails!

They look beautiful and elegant LBOCS2, nowt wrong with them.

I have seen Ronnie in EastEnders wearing a Mint Velvet top I have. She looks dreary a lot of the time Sad

LBOCS2 · 27/06/2016 00:12

Thank you. It is a fab colour, top three right now.

It's my fingers. The two middle ones are bizarrely close together compared to the outer ones. Or, possibly, I've been looking at them too long and am overthinking this.

CaptainWarbeck · 27/06/2016 05:30

You're over thinking it Grin I like that navy.

I've got dark purple on my toes. Black cherry I think the bottle says. Couldn't care less about toes, hands are more on show.

SarfEast1cated · 27/06/2016 06:21

I have an OPI matt top coat which I put over my blue nail varnish on my toes, makes it look like I have denim nails which I like. Weather is so rubbish though I doubt anyone outside home has noticed them...

MrsCampbellBlack · 27/06/2016 06:35

I think the navy looks chic especially on toes.

I can't do grey but wear a lot of beigey colours on my fingernails - chanel particuliere being my favourite as it lasts really well and doesn't show tiny chips. Now that is proper 'mum' thinking.

KitKats28 · 27/06/2016 09:40

It says a lot about my blue nail varnish habit that I knew what brand niminy was wearing before she said it. Barry M blues are all lovely.

And now I need The Serpentine although I'm not a big fan of NailsInc formulation.

Diddlydokey · 27/06/2016 13:55

mum boots: www.hotter.com/gb/en/womens/womens-boots/danville-boots

Note the 'comfy' heel

I think the important factor of not caring one bit what they look like

Last year, some folk on here were saying that Chelsea boots were Mum boots but I think that's OTT

AmberNectarine · 27/06/2016 14:10

I've never really got on board with blue nail varnish. I like navy on others though.

Like MrsCB I enjoy a bit of particuliere for my hands. I always, always wear Rouge noir on my toenails because I keep painting over the layers

BoSelectaBigBiff · 27/06/2016 14:50

Oh, bother these threads. I'm not supposed to be spending anything more until next month, but after reading this and realising I needed both a navy blue and a grey colour for my toe nails, and then discovering it was buy one get one half price at Boots, well, it seemed a bit rude not to order a couple of Essie colours.

I am quite proud of myself for only ordering 2, though(!)

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 27/06/2016 15:20

Id wear those hotter "mum boots" and that's the first time I've ever seen anything from Hotter that I'd possibly wear. In the colder months I'd mum them up big time with my navy jeggings, and khaki parka. Right now I'm wearing glittery pink falsies (my girly and younger by 10 years sister left behind) on my fingers and electric blue Avon polish on my toes. I really don't belong here do I? :o

cosmicglittergirl · 27/06/2016 16:22

I love Barry M for their blue nail varnish. And mint green which I wore on my wedding day.

LBOCS2 · 27/06/2016 17:08

KitKats, the Nails Inc one was a replacement for a much loved Rimmel varnish which I had many years ago and lost. They may still do it in some shops - I'd start there for a dupe :)

Rimmel Punk Rock is a really good grey too BoSelecta. As modelled in the attached picture (I clearly spend too long taking pictures of my nails...)

My fingers are doing that weird thing in that picture too...
