Blimey, Strops, what a drama with DD. But as you say, it's a very clear lesson in how things can go awol very quickly if she misses the meds, and hopefully she is mature enough to realise this. Well done for escaping to France, and I hope your tension-bum-ache slowly diminishes as you relax into your (very much deserved) break.
BTM - DH had a similar "fail" this morning, when he forgot to set his alarm to take DS to his bakery job. Luckily they managed to scramble out of the house and, with a bit of speeding, were only three minutes late. I will explain to DS later that "my dad overslept" generally won't wash as an excuse for being late for work, and he needs to own a bit of the responsibility and set his own alarm in future. Oh, the challenges of being a grown-up....
Meanwhile I will be waiting for the phone to ring over the next few days, as yet more aunts and uncles threaten to fall from their perches. Will it be DSM, to tell me that her younger brother, UncleP, has succumbed to cancer? Or will he be beaten to it by DM's sister, AuntyS, who is now very low, with MacMillan nurses in residence. DM is in pieces.
DSM philosphical; she went to say goodbye yesterday, although UncleP is largely unconscious now.
