Yeah, MrsS, what the hell? Your fault, obviously, that you are talked over Angry.

Tired and weepy here too.

Big wave to Rudy!

Rosebag · 01/07/2016 10:51

Racing in...big weekend ahead. Busy shoving rubbish out of sight, into cupboards

MrsS like I said, ball rearrangement. KOBO. You are worth 50 of them.

Hello Rudy waves. Hope the headache lifts....and please keep checking in Flowers

DS2's verdict on Prom..."could have been worse." The supreme accolade.

Am bracing self for a weekend of Family. Hmm

bigTillyMint · 01/07/2016 10:54

Rudy, I think there is some truth in the synchronising - when I was a student and shared with 3 other girls, we often were synchronised.

I have just changed HRT to a continuous one (which contains notheristerone or whatever it is called) as the GP said I could as I have been on HRT for over a year, despite still having periods. But I am having a periodSad

When will the whole palarva end?Angry

hattymattie · 01/07/2016 10:56

Rp?andom question - how easy is it to cook whole salmon - is this something I can mess up?

hattymattie · 01/07/2016 10:57

Oops - need to cut nails - obs they are skidding over the keys.

herbaceous · 01/07/2016 11:04

My mum used to cook a whole salmon in the dishwasher. Wrap it up first, though.

OP posts:
hattymattie · 01/07/2016 11:06

Herbs Grin - I don't think I dare do that.

magimedi · 01/07/2016 11:17

I'd be worried about the rinse aid flavouring it!

I've cooked one in the oven using Delia's method

It's rare that Delia has ever let me down!

Rosebag · 01/07/2016 11:20

I have cooked a large side of salmon like this....I season it with salt and pepper, and sprinkle on some dried tarragon. Some people add knobs of butter..( I don't think it needs it as farmed salmon is fatty) and wrap in a huge foil parcel. The oven bake/roast at gas mark 5 or equivalent until just cooked through...maybe check after about 25 mins. Beats using a fish kettle which makes the whole house smell of for weeks...

Blackduck · 01/07/2016 11:28

I vote for Herbs way of making impact.......

MontserratCaballe · 01/07/2016 11:47

Did you know that you can make flavoured vodka in the dishwasher? I am going to have a crack at clementine vodka for Christmas this year. Or chilli vodka, to cheer up a bloody Mary.

Whole salmon - in big roasting tray in oven. Delicious and very impressive. New potatoes, couple of salads - job done. I have just made pregnant Jools' pasta from Jamie's 30m meals and it is delicious. A very good way to cheer up a packet of sausages.

Hugs to you, Rudy and MM. Sorry to everyone who is feeling weepy and low. I am actually doing OK at the moment so am offering my capacious bosom and general shoulder to anyone who needs Smile.

Off out to lunch now with my friend who had the mastectomy at Christmas. She is now through her chemo and has bought herself an Eff off pair of diamond earrings to celebrate it all being over. Just brilliant.

Later, my lovelies....

bigTillyMint · 01/07/2016 11:56

Yes MM, I made sweet vodka in the dishwasher last Christmas. It was a bit sweet, but the girls liked it I am going to take some rhubarb from our garden at work to try a friends rhubarb gin/vodka recipe next.

Have a lovely lunch!

bigTillyMint · 01/07/2016 11:57

Oops, Monty, I meant!

hattymattie · 01/07/2016 12:23

OK ladies - so I just order a gutted and skinned salmon, wrap it and bung it in the oven. Monty - will do the potatoes and salads with it.

herbaceous · 01/07/2016 12:28

For true 70s feel, you have to lay slices of cucumber on it, in the manner of scales.

Off out for lunch with DP. It's his last day today (I thought it was last week), and no one from his work has even emailed to say goodbye, even his boss. So we're having our own leaving lunch. < blows raspberry >

bigTillyMint · 01/07/2016 12:46

Oh Herbs, that's rubbish for your DPSad
Glad you are cheering him up.

CointreauVersial · 01/07/2016 12:56

The only way to bugger up an oven-baked salmon is to overcook it. It should be just done, possibly still with some dark pink bits. Depending on oven temperature etc. will take no more than 20-25 minutes.

We eat it all the time, as it's a huge family fave; often I bung on some sort of interesting topping (you name it, I've stuck it on a baked salmon).

And yes, the syncro-period is definitely a thing. Imagine, if you will, 18 girls sharing a dorm at boarding school, all with raging PMT at the same time. Shock

I'm also feeling a little bit jaded and headachey today - no idea why. I went for a (drizzly) ladyjog this morning which usually perks me up for the day, but it doesn't seem to have worked.

I'm sure your weekend will go swimmingly, Rose. I have a two-party weekend myself: friend's 50th tonight (I'm driving, DH is drinking), then BIL's 50th tomorrow night (vice versa). I have just realised I have bought neither cards nor gifts, so will have to hot-foot it into town later. BIL is tricky to buy for at the best of times......

motherinferior · 01/07/2016 13:26

I am once, twice, three - no, four times a Ladyjogger this week, though am still a space hopper.AngrySad

Rosebag · 01/07/2016 14:15

Tilly which one are you on? I switched to FemSeven Conti quite a while ago as I didn't want periods any more. There was a bit of spotting in the first few months but that died out. No periods is brilliant. I'm still a fat, headachey, moody bitch at times often though.... Grin

Herbs Sad That's horrid.

Back to tidying up and hiding all our tat in cupboards...Hmm

Rosebag · 01/07/2016 14:16

but you are not a space hopper.... MI

herbaceous · 01/07/2016 14:49

I've got an interview for the HLTA ELA job! (High level teaching assistant with English as additional language pupils, for non-jargon fans.)

On the interview panel is the deputy head, a friend from school, who when I didn't get the last job at that school said 'I'm really sorry you didn't get it - would have loved to work with you'. So. Shoe in.

Herbs, that's great! Fingers and all crossed for you.

TFIF - We have had the day from hell here and I am so looking forward to someWine with friends tonight.

addle · 01/07/2016 15:12

Fantastic, Herbs! What happens when now?

herbaceous · 01/07/2016 15:57

Well, the interview is next Thursday. At which I will have to teach 10 little darlings with various first languages, for 25 MINUTES. I have to introduce them to a Seamus Heaney poem.

I'm imagining I'll do a bit of vocab - matching key words to pictures, perhaps some rhymes used in the poem (emphasising different word endings), and, er... that's it so far! Then I have to write a 10 minute presentation on something yet to be declared. Then have an interview! Anyone would think this was for a high-level CEO post.

OP posts:
motherinferior · 01/07/2016 16:07

And I've got an interview for the publication I bid for too! Not even deadline time yet...
