Where do you buy your jeans from?

During my student days and post-graduation days, mostly due to finances, my jeans were from Next, Red Herring, and Miss Selfridges. I'm petite so length is an issue.
Is it worthwhile investing in jeans from a specialist brand such as Lee or Levi? Where do you buy your jeans from?

In the other way around I would only wear Levi's but these days the next slim and shape jeans are my Best Buy - I have most of the colours in skinny.
I have all saints bits and pieces though I would definitely consider their jeans but it's all about the fit that works best for you

leedy · 20/06/2016 16:49

Anywhere where they fit me! I have a small waist and a big bum so a lot of brands gape hideously at the back. For a while Gap were pretty good but they seem to have changed the cut that worked well for me. I have better/more consistent luck with specialist jeans brands like Paige, J Brand, etc. but they tend to be pricey - I try on in department stores and then stalk them for sale prices/Ebay.

UhtredRagnorsson · 20/06/2016 16:56

H&M kids.

KenDodddied · 20/06/2016 16:56

I buy by mine in topshop, nice and stretchy. I never wear anything else from there as I'm probably a bit old for their target audience but I had a pair of their maternity jeans, loved them and then bought the non mat version. Like leedy said, I'll go anywhere they fit.

UhtredRagnorsson · 20/06/2016 16:56

Also, Urban outfitters. But the H&M kids ones are the best. Also the cheapest.

NorbertDentressangle · 20/06/2016 16:57

My last pair were M&S (jeez shoot me now, there's no hope!)

I always bought Gap ones but they changed fit (although actually maybe it was body that changed the further past 40 I got). Before Gap I was a Levis gal.

Floisme · 20/06/2016 17:02

M&S Autograph, H&M.

Used to like Gap but they closed my local store and I'm not buying jeans online as need to try on loads first.

Rinceoir · 20/06/2016 17:10

I've also got a small waist/big bum and buy any jeans that fit me. Last few pairs have been oasis, joules, topshop and John Lewis. Topshop are really stretchy and wash well. People on here always say Next Jeans are huge, but I just find them big around waist but no roomier below that than any other brands so I think it's shape dependent.

SuperFlyHigh · 20/06/2016 17:24

My last few pairs of jeans have been:-

Italian cheapo brand from a local boutique
H&M stretch
H&M stretch (but then they changed the fecking style!)
Top Shops black and dark blue skinnies - one high waisted other not, forget exact styles

I really really really don't bother with Levis etc.

Did have some James jeans with diamante on back pockets but rarely wear them now and probably too fat for them!

SuperFlyHigh · 20/06/2016 17:25

Rinceoir - the one thing I forgot about Top Shop skinnies is they stretch... so size down.

Of course I have now piled on an extra stone so they fit snugly...

hollieberrie · 20/06/2016 17:50

Gap Girlfriend Jeans
Topshop Leigh Skinnies
Fat Face jeggings i quite like too (they are more skinny jean than jegging even though thats what they call them).

Autumnchill · 20/06/2016 17:52

French Connection and my last Petite leg Levis lasted 5 years, I loved them.

Avoid Mint Velvet. I've had 2 pairs in 7 months and both have split on the arse when I've squatted down to pick something up Shock

MsMims · 20/06/2016 17:54

I also have the waist to hip ratio issue and hate looking for jeans. Levi bold curve jeans were a miracle on me, wish I'd bought more before they were discontinued.

Picked up a couple of salsa pairs reduced in house of fraser a few weeks ago, they have a bit of stretch to accommodate my hips/ bum but do still gape a bit at the waist unfortunately.

KittensandKnitting · 20/06/2016 17:55

Opposite issue to you OP 36" legs so the only place I can get mine is top shop...

Am at the top of the "size" range and feel like an old elephant going in to purchase so do it on line :)

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 20/06/2016 20:10

It depends what type of jeans I think.

Skinnies it's not worth spending shed loads because they will stretch and also if you don't have a thigh gap you're likely to rub holes in them.

LikeASoulWithoutAMind · 20/06/2016 20:12

Oasis.

Polkadot1974 · 20/06/2016 21:24

My last skinny jeans have been sainsburys - love them

bearofnothingness · 20/06/2016 21:31

Love Zara jeans

AnyFucker · 20/06/2016 21:34

River Island, always.

MadeinBelfast · 20/06/2016 21:39

I got some petite jeans from Monsoon after seeing them recommended on here. They're pretty good but I wish I'd sized down as they get a bit baggy after wearing them for a few hours.

burnishedsilver · 20/06/2016 22:02

I've had such good luck with jeans from mint velvet. They just suit my shape. I've got 5 pairs.
I love gap girlfriend jeans, and I have a great pair of straight leg jeans from levis.
I have also had a few horrible jeans from gap. The worst jeans ever were from Boden.

poppym12 · 20/06/2016 22:04

I've got several pairs from next. I'm never really happy with the fit (actually, I'm not happy with how fat I've got Blush) but my best fit jeans are from gap. Sadly the store has closed now and buying jeans online is never a good idea for me.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 20/06/2016 22:10

I've just bought two pairs of Zara jeans and aside from the fact they're about six inches too long I love them Grin

Nice thick denim, reasonably high waist.

poppym12 · 20/06/2016 22:16

Also, I used to be able to get non stretch jeans from gap. Can't get them there now. Any idea where I can get 100% cotton jeans ( in a size 16) ?

TheNotoriousPMT · 20/06/2016 22:21

Tk maxx. I go in and grab 7 or 8 pairs in my size, try them all on, usually find a decent fit. Last time I went I got a pair of Lees and a pair of J Brand, for a grand total of £45. Admittedly, I was feeling lucky that day.
