Just that - yes, or no, hate or love?

I like both of them, which isn't much help. Sorry! The snakeskin one might clash more with clothes though, depending on what you tend to wear of course.

BananaChew · 18/06/2016 18:33

Like the first, not the second. Sorry!

Different budget, but I ordered this today: uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_1.7/9891942200 I saw it irl last week and it's really lovely. Massive, but I have a big purse and always carry a book and make up and spare pants and swimming goggles and half-eaten bananas

Cheesecake53 · 18/06/2016 19:12

Thanks, that's a really nice bag, Banana! I am seriously considering replacing mine!

Blueberryblueberry · 18/06/2016 19:19

I prefer the first, it's lovely! But depends on your style really. If you're quite smart (e.g office wear, heels, more structured clothes etc), the snakeskin would be fine but if you're more casual/laid back style and want to wear it with jeans/converse/sandals etc definitely the brown Smile

polyhymnia · 18/06/2016 20:32

My style is definitely the former - ie laid back, low key, etc, though trying to be reasonably stylish.

I like the first but do not like the second.

First would go with so much more.

Pisssssedofff · 18/06/2016 20:38

Do they ever do discount codes i wonder ? I have four I would like on that site but they are the same price as Kate spade, I feel a bit hard done by

timelytess · 18/06/2016 20:39

Bags 1 and 2 - imagine you saw them on a sleazy market stall for £14.99 each. Would you buy them? No, they look dog rough. So why pay a fortune for them?

The Accessorise bag is much better. Find one a lot like that for £250 and you'll be happy. Also, you will look like a person with a modicum of taste.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 18/06/2016 20:40

I prefer the first one, the second looks an awkward shape for carrying cross body, which is how I have to carry bags. Prefer the silver version though!

polyhymnia · 18/06/2016 21:00

Sorry, timeless, don't quite understand your point. I'm not so stupid I need to spend £250 on a bag to feel happy . Nor were either of the bags I posted £250. Whatever your point is, I'm sure you didn't mean it to come across as snarky. And I do like the Accessorize bag but it's a tote and I'm not looking for one at moment.

HopeArden · 18/06/2016 21:38

They are both horrible and seriously overpriced for what they are. Sorry, I feel rude saying that but they both look like they should be a lot cheaper than they are.
For nearly £200 you could buy a lovely classic tote bag like the accessorize one.
Have a look at Grandala for bags around that price - I have one and it is very well made and would last a long time I think, as an everyday bag.

HopeArden · 18/06/2016 21:39

Sorry, just saw that you didn't want a tote.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 18/06/2016 21:44

I like both. I think the snakeskin one just has the edge for me. It's a lovely shape and size.

Liiinoo · 18/06/2016 21:50

The tan looks cheap. The snakeskin is nicer but they both look small for an everyday bag. I would need something big enough for phone, power pack, purse, kindle, make-up, keys, Oyster card, hairbrush, Filofax, anti histamine tablets and cream, cuticle oil, hearing aid batteries.....ad infinitum.

polyhymnia · 18/06/2016 21:53

No, not this time. Tbh, I have no particular brief for no. 2. The brand was actually recommended by someone on here and I've never seen their things in RL. That was the type of bag I wanted and no other colours appealed so I just threw it in for reactions.

But I have been shopping at R and B for many years and have always found their quality very good. In RL, the bag may look wacky but not cheap and nasty. And, yes, I do have taste.

polyhymnia · 18/06/2016 21:54

Sorry, not this time refers to me not wanting a tote!

OP posts:
Agadooo · 18/06/2016 21:56

Sorry dont really like either. You like anything in fossil or on tk maxx website?

badg3r · 18/06/2016 22:18

Not a big fan of either, sorry. The tassle one weaving reminds me of cheap bags I had as a teenager. What do you need it for? How big? Is it for taking to work etc? I recently got a fjallraven tote bag (sorry, don't know how to link!). It is amazing. V casual but not too bulky. I know you're not after a tote but it has tote and and normal handles too and can be a tote or backpack too.

polyhymnia · 18/06/2016 22:29

I have looked at every bag on the Fossil website and not found one that has everything I want. Also Coach and Kate Spade. Went to shops of those last two. Found one style in each I liked but not any colour I wanted. So wasn't sure I wanted to spend the £250.

The one I posted was something less 'sensible' that caught my eye on impulse and appealed to my less 'sensible' side.

phoolani · 18/06/2016 22:48

I like the snakeskin one and it'll go with way more than the brown. And if you're happy paying what it costs, then that's nobody else's business!

goingmadinthecountry · 19/06/2016 00:01

Snakeskin is something my 12 year old wouldn't even touch - looks really cheap and horrible. Used to like R&B bags - have a few old ones - but they've got far too much shiny stuff on them. Plaiting is not that great too - if you want something to last a few years I'd go for something a bit less blinged up and more stylish. Has to be leather though - leather look is not a look. Accessorise are really expensive for what they are imo.

polyhymnia · 19/06/2016 00:10

Don't agree on snakeskin - but I think it is a marmite thing. I like it in moderation as do several stylish women I know and some stylish posters in here. Others don't.
As for bling, ironically I don't like it and wouldn't go near, eg, M Kirs for that reason. The Modalu Pippa also too blingy for me. But think I can forgive it on the one I posted because I find the bag fun.
Also I do like plaiting and think it can be tasteful. I agree there's a question as to whether that plus gold plus tassels can be!

OP posts:
polyhymnia · 19/06/2016 00:11

PS also only like real leather.

OP posts:
crje · 19/06/2016 00:16

Snake skin isn't nice imo
The brown is nice but a very particular style.

I think you should keep looking
