Is this a highlight disaster?

I decided to go back to blonde after being my natural colour for a couple of years, asked for highlights (as that's what I'd always had before) and left feeling pretty unsettled. Some hair seems to be ginger and and my roots seem rather big to me. Is this the norm or should I go back and complain?

Please excuse the red scalp, it's always looked like that.

Oh forgot to mention, my hair was done 3 days ago

This is not the norm - you'd be well within your rights to complain! X

BumbleNova · 14/06/2016 11:34

Nope - thats a really dodgy job. definitely complain!

Ilovetoast12 · 14/06/2016 11:36

Thanks for your replies. Ironically I spent the most on my hair this time and it's the worst it's looked!

I'll go and complain ASAP.

Thanks again.

Yes, you should definitely go back and complain.

WellErrr · 14/06/2016 11:46

Oh dear! Yes, complain and get it fixed Smile

twobambinos · 14/06/2016 11:52

Awe op sorry not a good look. I have had plenty of hair disasters myself too so I know how you feel. Hope you get sorted soon

TealLove · 14/06/2016 18:06

Bad job!

Littleorangecat · 14/06/2016 18:12

Yes, the roots look grown out to start with. Get them to fix it .

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/06/2016 18:17

Go back, get a refund and then go somewhere else!

prettywhiteguitar · 14/06/2016 19:12

I had this done, unfortunately I was too scaredy cat to go back and ask for refund. I did however find a really great hairdresser who fixed it.

Yes complain. I've had to complain about dodgy hair twice (different salons) and they rectified both times.
I wasn't really embarrassed complaining. I'd have been more embarrassed walking around with terrible hair that looked as if I'd done it myself for 8 weeks.

Good luck. They may offer you the same person (they did me!) but I asked for managed to fix it.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 14/06/2016 20:11

Some toner would really help with the brassiness. Look for a purple shampoo in Boots to lift the blonde.

Patterkiller · 14/06/2016 20:16

I have that regrowth but it's been eight weeks since my last visit. You've just reminded me to phone tomorrow. But yes well within your rights to complain.

ilovetoast12 · 15/06/2016 15:27

Tried to go back and complain today but the salon was shut! Ggrrr. Will try again tomorrow and in the mean time try the Silver shampoo. Smile

Thanks for everyone's help, it's much appreciated Smile

Did you go back today?

ilovetoast12 · 16/06/2016 21:31

Yeah, I went back and spoke to the girl who coloured my hair. She was quite apologetic but didn't know what to do so she asked her boss. The boss shrugged nonchalantly, said "redo it" and walked off. I arranged with the girl to go back another day but seeing the boss' attitude I felt uneasy about returning, so have since been to another hairdressers. They looked through my hair in its entirety and found multiple problems, so will get it fixed there and ask for a refund from the original place. Cannot wait to get it fixed and stop wearing hats and hoodies! Smile

Good, there's no way I'd let a salon who messed up my hair re do it, they wouldn't get a second chance!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/06/2016 11:20

Get the refund first !

You don't want to go in there with nicely redone hair. You want them to see your hair in its 'glory' and get your money back.

Good Luck.

Toxicity · 17/06/2016 13:31

Please go back and get a refund - you never have to go there again so why not? The colour is not great and the roots are terrible, if you get a refund you can go somewhere else and get it fixed!

I once told a hairdresser I only wanted longer layers but the idiot put so many short layers in my hair. I was fuming. I spoke to the manager and told her I was really upset that he had not done what I asked. She offered to fix it but I said no (as she couldn't fix layers that were too short) and asked for a refund which they gave me. I had to tie my hair back for 3 months Sad

Good luck!

Got my money back this morning! Rang ahead hoping they could refund me over the phone seeing as I'd already been in and shown them the issue but they said I had to go in and collect the money. So, I did! They argued with me as they couldn't understand why I didn't want them to fix it but I didn't back down. I'd have thought the current state of my hair would be proof enough! What a relief! Getting my hair down properly elsewhere next week, phew.

Thank you everyone for all your help Smile

That is great news - well done for sticking to your guns and getting a refund! Good luck next week - let us know how it goes.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 17/06/2016 15:44

Great!!

Bananacabana · 25/06/2016 15:54

It went even better than expected! My new do looks so much better Smile It looks very blonde now, not brown and ginger stripes like Tony Tiger Wink
