COS - are they going to have a sale soon?

I've seen a dress I really like in Cos. But it's quite expensive (well, it is for me anyway). Does anyone know if they will be having a sale soon?

I don't need it for another 4 weeks or so! But I do love it. Help me decide what to do, lovely Mnetters.

Which one is it? I never get excited about the cos sale, they never have anything in my size. Ever 😡

Saurus72 · 10/06/2016 19:53

Well, as a Cos stalker, I've noticed over the past few years that & Other Stories tends to start their sale the day before Cos. However, the isn't the case this year it seems - & Other Stores' sale started a coulee of days ago, and there's still no sign of Cos'. Boo...But probably for the best, there's NOTHING I really need.

This one! www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Dresses/Pleated_raw-cut_dress/46881-41024580.1#c-22755

Maybe I should wait a couple of weeks and be patient??

I'm sure they will do so before the end of June.

dragonsarebest · 11/06/2016 12:02

I predict it will start on Wednesday. I am stalking watching a few things too.

CaitAgusMadra · 13/06/2016 10:28

Just noticed that some items are reduced on the website this morning Smile

mrsdane · 13/06/2016 11:29

Just had the mail - subscribers can shop it online now (or anyone, by the look of it) and it starts in store on Wednesday. Good detective work dragons !

Lndnmummy · 13/06/2016 13:54

It has started

JohnCheese · 13/06/2016 15:19

has it started? How come it's not coming up on my phone? Got no email either the scoundrels.

CaitAgusMadra · 13/06/2016 15:32

I didn't get an email either. Only certain items (pretty limited tbh) showing as reduced on my phone

dragonsarebest · 13/06/2016 22:12

I did get the email, but the things I wanted aren't in it so the credit card is safe. Anyone else get what they wanted?

shovetheholly · 15/06/2016 07:49

Thanks for the info - impressive predictive skills dragon.

My dress sadly isn't in the sale Sad

They normally add some extra things after a few weeks, maybe the bits we want will be included then. Fingers crossed!

shovetheholly · 15/06/2016 08:28

I really hope so!! I need it fairly soon for a holiday, so I'm going to have to take a deep breath otherwise! Smile

I can't look at Cos clothes now without thinking of a poster on here describing them as "gulag clothes"!

unhelpful

Grin
newlabelwriter · 15/06/2016 08:34

I think it must be starting soon - there are already a few reduced bits online.

shovetheholly · 15/06/2016 08:38

Hahahahaha! I guess they are a bit gulagesque!

I like things that DH describes (disparagingly) as 'architect clothes'. Tailored, dark, asymmetric. But I am crap at clothes shopping. And I mean really, really crap. All the things I see and love are in very high end places that are way out of my price range. So right now I literally own 3 dresses and 7 pairs of leggings. From Primark. I don't even like them. Sad

I would like to get kitted out with some better clothes, but I pretty much hate 98% of stuff in shops. Finding Cos was a bit of a watershed moment because they are reasonably priced and they look quite tough. I am sure there are other shops out there that sell clothes for 30-something women that aren't Boden (too girly) or Hobbs/LK Bennett (too lawyerly) or Karen Millen (too shiny) or Ghost (too floaty) but I haven't found them because of aforementioned rubbishness at shopping. Suggestions therefore v v v v v welcome!

Jigsaw, Banana Republic, J Crew, Reiss...?

shovetheholly · 15/06/2016 09:55

Maybe I should have a look at Jigsaw again - I associate them with soft and pretty! J Crew/Banana R I find too preppy - I am struggling to put into words what it is that I like (this may be part of the problem - I am illiterate in fashion!). I like sort of edgy things with zips and asymmetric cuts (not the pretty kind, the geometric ones) and unusual necklines. I basically like clothes that look a bit like origami Grin.

All Saints is the shop for you!

shovetheholly · 15/06/2016 11:04

Ooooh, YES - I looked them up and their stuff is lovely!! Thank you!

Is there anywhere that offers the same thing but cheaper? Or is All Saints as inexpensive as this stuff gets?

Also, is there a word for this look, for future reference?! Grin

Never heard of COS before - Im petite I think the clothes would drown me!

phoolani · 15/06/2016 11:28

I'm petite and I love cos - about 80% of my wardrobe is from there - but a lot of the clothes are quite 'architectural', which you either like or you don't, and everything has to be tried on because things can be a bit voluminous. And Japanese women clearly love it and they tend towards the petite.

phoolani · 15/06/2016 11:29

Shove - if you do find the all saints look cheaper, let me know. I've been looking for years and haven't found it yet 😫

Mrs9C · 15/06/2016 11:40

Wear do people wear Cos clothes to, work? casual wear? Genuine question...had a look on their site and found this Amish dress Hmm If I wore that wear I live I'd get very weird looks!
