COS - are they going to have a sale soon?

I've seen a dress I really like in Cos. But it's quite expensive (well, it is for me anyway). Does anyone know if they will be having a sale soon?

I don't need it for another 4 weeks or so! But I do love it. Help me decide what to do, lovely Mnetters.

phoolani - I agree, though I only just discovered it, and then only in a concession in a department store, not an actual proper, dedicated shop so you know way more than me. I still spent ages trying everything I could on! Some things are quite baggy - a couple looked like I was drowning in a tent - but others are really quite a lovely cut.

One of my friends just texted me to say Mint Velvet are similar but cheaper. Looking at their website they do have a lot of stuff that is too pretty-pretty for me, but some things I do really like. Sale on right now, too! Again, there is no shop close to me Sad

Yes I thought a bit Amish too - not sure I could pull the look off at work

its devastating when you see a dress that you absolutely love.... although iv found that shopping online can always save you a few quid instead of shopping in store. have a look for some discount codes maybe. i managed to find a 30% off code for next last month at buzzcouponcodes.com it can certainly help with affording THAT dress :-) good luck.

I've no idea why I wrote "wear" twice instead of "where"....getting close the end of term here in Scotland! Confused

Mrs - I wear it for work and casual. It's a rare day when I'm not wearing at least something cos. Not all their clothes are 'out there', they do a lovely line in plain jersey Ts and a lot of white shirts in different styles for example. I do have issues with their website though; the way they style everything and the models they use (stand up straight for god's sake!!) it all does look Amish or a bit modern hippy! My only issue with them at the moment is that they have no straight or slim tapered trousers in - it's all those bloody wide legged culottes which take about a metre off my height and add a good stone to my weight.

mrsdane · 15/06/2016 12:50

I wear a lot of COS stuff because I find it fits me really well - I'm almost 6' and they definitely make longer tops etc. I think they make a lot of their stuff with their home audience of Swedes in mind (although their designers are based in London).

shove All Saints but cheaper....now you're asking! Urban Outfitters? Can get a bit hippy though, which I don't think is what you want. AS often have a very good sale, so maybe wait for that? To me, it's a kind of hipster/Shoreditch vibe (that's where it all started). Do you live in/near London? Spitalfields Market would be your idea of heaven I imagine...

Mrs9C · 15/06/2016 12:57

Shame their website does nothing for them really. I do follow a 'girl' on IG who can carry off their style of clothes very well.

Lndnmummy · 15/06/2016 13:11

I wear COS almost exclusively to work, pretty much everyday I have a COS dress on. My casual days are very casual so more GAP than anything but COS for work almost always. They fit me (and I am the home market Swede demographic although a short one at 5.1)

shovetheholly · 15/06/2016 13:22

mrsdane - No, I'm in Sheffield - miles away! Sad I will look out for the AS sale! Thank you so much for your help.

Those who wear COS regularly - does it wash well?

Shove I always think Mint Velvet is a bit like All Saints was a few years ago, so that might be worth a look. The price point on AS is ridiculous now, even in the sales imo. They have outlet stores if you're passing by one, they sometimes have good offers on top of the discounts.

Re Cos, I find in general their stuff washes really well. The only issue I have had was a viscose shirt dress and that shrunk a bit despite following the instructions. I wear something from there every day though and have had no other problems - it's good quality generally.

I live in Cos dresses for work (all bought in the sale) and have a couple of tops and jackets that can be worn for either work or casual. I love the place! You really must try things on though unless you're repeat buying a style. I'm a 5'5, 10-12 pear, so definitely not Amazonian.

OP, try Whistles.

shovetheholly · 16/06/2016 12:35

Thanks so much dragon - I LOVE the All Saints stuff, but even the sale seems expensive (though I suspect I am working on a concept of clothes pricing that is about 20 years out of date). I'll look out for the outlet stores, though I'm not sure there's anything much near me in Sheffield!

Thanks for the info on washing, too - I do worry about some clothes in the machine, so good to know they are robust.

Off to check Whistles now!

Really good range of whistles on ASOS!

SuperFlyHigh · 16/06/2016 12:52

All Saints sometimes do nice reductions like 30% off. I got a nice jersey dress from there and a t-shirt/top thing - 2 of the cheaper items.

would not pay full price or for the more expensive items.

Also why did they discontinue their jewellery? just bought fab pair of earrings of theirs on Ebay and bidding on another pair from them there.
