my clothing rut is...

My name is leedy and I am a serial repeat buyer. Things I've realized I keep buying (and, in fairness, wearing):

• red bras (does anybody actually need five red bras?)
• olive green/khaki coats and jackets (only realized this the other day when I counted them. Six. Whoops.)
• identical straight leg jeans in slightly different washes
• stripy tops

Anyone else?

So basically we will recognize each other by our grey cardigans, stripy tops, and ankle boots?

We definitely need to think about this as knowing what clothes we like and what suits as, rather than being stuck in a style rut .

Grey.
Navy.
White.

Stripey tops. I'm an embarrassment in my everlasting search for the ever elusive perfect stripey top. Much like the ever bleddy elusive perfect foundation. And bra.

Ankle boots.

Too much navy stuff and no navy shoes!

Dark skinnies
Ankle boots
Cashmere cardigans and jumpers in every colour that suits me but all quite plain in style
White/cream/grey/black/navy plain t shirts
Plain linen shirts
Wrap over jersey dresses again plain eg black navy cobalt blue
I can't stop buying diamonds but that's another story............

Oh fuck that is actually me .... I hate it but we don't ever look stupid unlike some of the girls I used to work with who looked ridiculous ie in fashion

Dresses. I stopped counting at 75
Vest tops. I wear them under everything
Various grey tops. T shirts, jumpers, vests... All grey

Pencil skirts. They're not even practical for me (sahm) but I just love them.

It's me too pissedoff!! I vary the jeans with naby or burgundy chinos, and vary the colour of the stripey top, usually shades of blue in thinner and fatter stripes.

I had two massive enforced culls moving to and from Australia .... I will never again buy any formal wear, highly unlikely to go to any balls these days and three pairs of jeans really is enough for anyone per year.
It's actually very liberating clearing out all the cupboards and literally just keeping a nice few things that you luv

White t-shirts. I'm slightly obsessed with finding the perfect white top, which I then never wear because I'm too busy wearing...navy clothes, especially t shirts. I started buying a bit of navy because I realised I wore black all the time .

I only have three grey cardigans, I'm a bit behind!

White and cream silk t-shirts. I bought another one the other day. When I tried it on at home dd said, searching desperately, O yes mummy. It's exactly like all your other ones!'

I can't help it. I find myself in shops genuinely thinking each time, 'ooo that's nice! Just the thing.'

Grey cashmere jumpers. Pale grey.

Vests in every hue imaginable. Converse. At least 6 pairs.

I have a whole shelf of Breton tops.

I went through a pale pink top phase for a while (colour suits me and goes with everything..)

I also have about 10 gilets and countless jumpers with stars on due to a mini obsession.

I am getting a grip of late though

Pink Bras (not even a big fan of pink!)

Running gear and shoes.
Oh God and the jeans - endless jeans (I actually wear about 2 pairs)

And I still eye up new ones with longing. Also have I navy cashmere cardigan, but in my defence I have lent/given it to my sister as I have decided i can't wear cardigans any more for some reason.

Oh, forgot the summer linen one.

I have loads of bloody black skinny jeans and black ankle boots with fine knit merino tops in black and navy.
I don't look like a YSL model which I think was the original aim!

Liked a jersey dress in M & S last month in sale half price so bought one in green and one in navy. Have worn them both with leggings. Yesterday saw the navy one slashed to £6. What would you have done ? Of course I bought it.
