my clothing rut is...

My name is leedy and I am a serial repeat buyer. Things I've realized I keep buying (and, in fairness, wearing):

• red bras (does anybody actually need five red bras?)
• olive green/khaki coats and jackets (only realized this the other day when I counted them. Six. Whoops.)
• identical straight leg jeans in slightly different washes
• stripy tops

Anyone else?

Bretons and cardigans

Bretons. I don't even intend to stop

I would like more cosy jumpers.

Cosy grey jumpers (too many cashmere...) and navy work trousers - have 6 pairs. Silly silly.

Black skirts. I had millions, in different styles, fabrics & lengths

TheNotoriousPMT that did make me chuckle! Name very fitting??!!

2nd vote for navy dresses, drawn to them for some reason and hadn't realised until now... don't think I've even worn them, just like the look of them on the hanger but not so much on me!

Black sleeveless tops. Microscopic chest, nice arms as a consolation prize, so I hit upon the sleeveless top wheeze. I have millions of them.

Ballet pumps for walking to work in. Somebody will tell me off for it shortly, I am sure.

Grey cardigans. I have found my people on this thread.

Black skinny jeans, who needs ten pairs
Converse, trainers, gym leggings and earrings. I wear the same pair of diamond studs approximately 364 days out of 365 but own about a million pairs.....I don't know why!

Going out dresses. Usually bodycon and expensive. In fairness, I do go out quite a lot, but I still have loads.

I have loads of flowery dresses...yes even after I got rid of 60'this winter.

Black coats/ jackets/ boots and shoes.

I do wear lots of colour with them though. As in flowery dress that has a hint of black in it then teamed with black jacket and black boots...as its always fufn winter here!

5 fufn degrees today!

And I was wearing black boots, black and white long sleeved knitted dress with black long sleeved top underneath and black half slip...and black coat and red scarf!

Like a fufn black beetle!

I want summer!

When in Tenerife we were in a mans shop...springfield maybe when shiny new husband came striding over with an excited look in his eye bearing a striped Breton top.

You can't have that I said..it's the mumsnet uniform.

He dropped it pretty damn quick...without a murmur of protest for once ;-)

Black ankle boots for work (own 6 pairs)
Navy macs - I have 4
Levi Curve slim or skinny fit jeans ...until they were discontinued (have 6 pairs in varying shades of blue)
I really DO NOT NEED another 'nude' coloured handbag, either (own 5)

Black blouses and dresses, can't remember how many because it's too many!

Cardigans in lots of different colours and styles
Vest tops - I wear them under everything all year round
Ankle boots - I can walk in them, they go with dresses, skirts and trousers and they keep my feet warm

Strappy tops and cardigans. So many cardigans!

Straight leg coloured chinos
Straight leg jeans (massive calf muscles won't fit in skinnies, I get V excited when I find trousers that fit)
Brogues - I have black, navy and silver
Duffle coats
Stripey socks

Ankle boots and biker jackets.

Summer dresses, I have a wardrobe full
Battered look skinny jeans, five pairs
I too am guilty of overbuying Breton tops, I must have seven or eight. No wonder they're in every shop!

Uggs, black, tan, leather, more tan

Great slouchy jumpers
Black t shirts
Long black vests

I'm so bloody boring!

But the problem is boring clothes look good on.

Great thread - making me want to go shopping immediately.

I am extremely guilty of buying the same thing in a million different colours.

Examples of this are:
Boden lightweight tees - more than 10
Fat face pointelle jumper - I think 4
Stripy tops (a common MN problem!)
Converse lows
Hollister boyfriend cardies
French connection Jersey dresses
