I'd have to ban Crocs, unless they're on small children.

Impulse body spray..stinks

Anyone else?

Those hair donuts- they always look revolting, always

nylon clothes

tunic tops

overly made up faces

all crusty/new age clothing. It looks dirty.

Badders123 · 07/04/2016 13:28

I agree with a lot on this thread
Bit I also wear some of the stuff too Smile
I only have 2 absolute no nos;
Culottes
Ponchos
They can just fuck off

MmeGuillotine · 07/04/2016 13:29

Itgoeswithoutsaying They are amazing and definitely worth getting - especially if you're a bit geeky! I have a wardrobe stuffed full of them, which is a bit embarrassing but they look SO good.

I'm a UK size 12 and 5' 3" and usually buy Medium but can also fit into a Small without any problems. They're made of nylon so they're super stretchy and forgiving. I've attached a photo of my latest acquisition (which is a Small actually, come to think of it) so you can see the length but they come to just above my knee. I think the models they use are realllly tall!

Women - body con dresses - nooooo! I love my body con dress - it holds all my lumps in and makes me look shapely in a good way (or maybe I'm kidding myself)!

Men - short sleeved shirts - nooooooo again! I love my DH in short sleeved shirts - but then he does have lovely big strong arms and shoulders.... maybe they could be banned on the weedy-armed types?

Sorry to pick on you btw squoosh - nothing personal, yours were just the first I disagreed with!

LaConnerie · 07/04/2016 13:48

mme I am so with you Grin

I love 50's styling - actually half my wardrobe comes from Lindy Bop.

Should I leave now?

hazeyjane · 07/04/2016 13:50

I thought Style and Beauty had imploded at the sight of my cröcs (cheapy Ikea crocs) - if anyone cares what the rest of my ensemble was, it did involve a poncho.

ItGoesWithoutSaying · 07/04/2016 13:54

Thanks MmeGuillotine! A small would probably be best for me. Bit skint at the moment (kids and Easter Holidays), but will definitely get one in a couple of weeks.

BTW, you look lovely in both your photos!

MmeGuillotine · 07/04/2016 13:57

hazey I really like your style!

Itgoes No worries! They're really ace and I definitely recommend them! And thank you! Star

MmeGuillotine · 07/04/2016 13:59

LaConnerie If we fifties styled, silly haired, tattooed, animal print wearers are all going to Room 101 together then at least we'll be in good company! And at least there'll probably be decent music and gin there too! Grin

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 07/04/2016 14:02

cathartic thread!
All of these!
And waterfall cardigans.

MizK · 07/04/2016 14:06

Haha EVERYTHING I wear has been banished. Today I'm wearing ripped skinny jeans, fringed ankle boots, a Joules striped top and a long cardie.
My greying hair is dyed blonde (well, balayage actually so some brown too). I am wearing fake tan. And I think I look perfectly good😀

I wouldn't banish anything tbh, but my least favourite looks are: converse worn with boot cut jeans, those big puffy gilets teamed with rugby shirt, real fur, bedazzled leisurewear, tankinis, any form of heels with swimwear, button through a-line denim skirts, jazz shoes especially when teamed with voluminous skirts.

notquitehuman · 07/04/2016 14:19

Spudlet - I nominate pristine Hunter's wellies too. You often see women in Chelsea wearing them and they look bloody stupid. Unless you've come straight from mucking out horses to Anthropolgie there's no excuse.

Moustaches, skinny jeans on men, and those big ear holes can all be banished. It's bad enough when the teenagers round here do the hipster look, but there are too many middle aged people trying to get down with the kids.

We can't banish the 50s look. Once you're a retired goth you move onto rockabilly. I'll put cherry print into room 101 though. It looks cheap and awful.

LazySusan11 · 07/04/2016 14:21

Wait! How has no one yet banished the onesie?! Especially the ones with the ridiculous hoods with animal ears.

I have an issue with those high vamp shoes with the Queen Mother block heels that all the bloggers are raving about.

Those cropped flares Ming too and are usually worn with aforementioned shoes.

I like to see a bit of quirk and flair when it comes to sartorial matters but they are a step too far.

KatharinaRosalie · 07/04/2016 14:38

Culottes were surely invented as a joke. They are not flattering on anybody.

Cap sleeves. Why? Either do a sleeve, or not do a sleeve, this thing is neither. Looks funny if you put a top underneath, but still too naked and armpit fat flashing for office.

Badly fitting bras - if you have to keep stuffing your boobs back into them constantly, and have strap somewhere around your neck, do you really think that's a good fit?

YaySirNaySir · 07/04/2016 14:43

Well my Uggs are safely packed away until next winter, but the fake tan is coming out soon so as I don't blind anyone with my legs Grin

rightknockered · 07/04/2016 14:43

Ive had enough of jumpsuits too. I had one when I was 5, enough said

BennyTheBall · 07/04/2016 14:44

Massive buns, worn on the top of the head, usually with HD brows and foundation in the wrong shade. This renders everyone that does it very ugly, when almost all of them probably aren't.

Those Lindy Bop dresses - shudderingly awful.

BrendasGotABaby · 07/04/2016 14:46

I love LOADS of stuff on this thread Grin

I only really get snotty about shoes, so would throw a few styles into Room 101.

Those massive platform stilettos that seem popular among the young ...they miss the whole point that heels are supposed to make you look more elegant.

'Mum' trainers - New Balance, Skechers, etc.

Those ankle boots with open toes. Pointless and way too Kardashian-esque.

Gosh it's a minefield isn't it.

Thank god for the tabard, heh, loved by all.

mumofthemonsters808 · 07/04/2016 14:54

The things I look awful in are: highlighter coloured clothes, anything tribal or Aztec print, maxi dresses, skater dresses, MC Hamer trousers, cut away, backless dresses. I've never tried shorts with tights, I think this only works if you are under 10. Im actually struggling to think what I do look good in.

LaConnerie · 07/04/2016 14:58

Absolutely Mme! I will see you in there with my bottle of Bombay Sapphire! Grin

hazeyjane · 07/04/2016 14:59

I'm guessing that is not an 'OH HAZEY, THAT CROC/RAINBOW SOCK COMBO IS STUNNING!' oh hazey.

Does it make it worse to know that I wore this in public?
