Light citrusy perfume - any recommendations?

My favourite EDT has been discontinued at Yves Rocher - Citrus Flower. It was lovely, light and perfect to wear for work as not too strong.

So I need to find something else. Ideally grapefruit notes but nothing too strong - I didn't like the Jo Malone citrus ones. Any ideas? I can spend up to £50.

L'Occitane Verbena is lovely, like lemon sherbets

Fyaral · 05/04/2016 22:19

This is what I use. Citrus and sandelwood. Gorgeous and light as well as inexpensive. Lasts ages. From Lush so very ethical and all that.

Ooh I could have started this thread. My all time favourite smell is the grapefruit and pomelo max Benjamin candle- wish they had a perfume of that! I have one and have a good sniff every time I walk past it Confused

I have both the D&G light blue and Chanel chance eau so fraiche so must have similar likes. Neither are very citrusy in my opinion rather lovely and fresh.

Will look out for the "extraordinarily grapefruitty" perfume mentioned upthread by pp!

Roger et Gallet Eau de Jean-Marie Farina is lovely, very light and citrusy, and not too dear in M&S. I love it for summer. And Annick Goutal's Eau d'Hadrien. Both are quite cologney, not too sweet.

Miller Harris do some lovely citrus scents. There's a Tangerine one and a Lemony one I think.

I'm using Hermes le jardin de Monsieur Li at the moment, and it's lovely and summery (although it feels like midwinter here today!)

I tried the Escada Summer Turquoise today and it's fabulous. It's has a fresh grapefruit top note with a hint of strawberry, it's a perfect summer fragrance. I have spent all afternoon sniffing my wrist, it still smells good hours later. Definitely my next buy.

If you're on a hunt for citrus, try the Dior 'Escale' perfumes. Very light, beautiful and citrusy.

Have you tried on-line for your Yves Rocher scent? You might be able to buy up stock from various places.

Calyx brought back by Clinique, adore Light Blue and the most lemony is the original French Connection perfume, only sold in the shops not the ones in Boots. £25 for big bottle and is so fresh and summery.

Penhaligons Quercus or Roger & Gallet citrus

BubsAndMoo · 05/04/2016 23:58

Lush "Sun" perfume or Kiehls Orangeflower & Lychee are my go-tos :)

Scuttlebutter · 06/04/2016 01:20

O de Lancome is great, as is Cristalle by Chanel. Both are fragrances I've worn a lot in the summer months, as they are beautifully fresh.

L'Occitane do a gorgeous Verbena range and the The Vert & Bigerade is lovely too as a pp has mentioned. Most years they do a "twist" on the original as well the main fragrance - worth keeping an eye on their website.

And there's the wonderful oldie but goodie - Limes by Floris.

You might also like Blasted Bloom by Penhaligons - it's very fresh but quite aquatic.

My summer citrus scent is Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver. It's officially classed as a fragrance for men but I love it. It's light & citrussy and makes me feel groomed when I wear it.

I love Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea. Really love it. I don't like many scents - but this one is clean and sharp and light - smells sort of lime/bergamot sharp with a bit of jasminey freshness and sweetness underneath, if that makes sense.

sleeponeday · 06/04/2016 22:25

Agree that L'Occitane's Verbena is lovely, too. I like their shower gel in that - always makes me happy in the morning! The Gloomaway range from Origins is similar - think it's supposed to be grapefruit! But it just zings a little. No idea if they do a scent with it, but the shower/bath range is great.

Yseulte · 06/04/2016 22:27

O de Lancôme or Clarins Eau Dynamisante (the latter is lighter).

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 06/04/2016 22:31

my two faves have already been recommended...

O de lancome and ElizabethArden Green Tea

...i was sorely tempted by the O de Lancome in the duty free the other day and resisted...now I am really regretting it.

moreshitandnofuckingredemption · 06/04/2016 22:35

Dior "Escale a Portofino"

OverAndAbove · 06/04/2016 22:36

Space NK Laughter has this kind of scent; I love it

goingtotown · 06/04/2016 22:51

Clarins Eau Dynamisante, beautiful lemony fragrance.

flamingnoravera · 06/04/2016 23:16

Oldie but goodie, Eau de Rochas.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 06/04/2016 23:27

Chanel cristalle eau verte.

VenusRising · 06/04/2016 23:54

Claris eau de jardins, it's an amazing grapefruit and lemon scent, but also super for sunny days as it has no alcohol, and won't react to sunshine, so won't make your skin break out / discolour/ burn.

I love O de Lancome azure - I think as its rosy as well as citrusy - it has a nice balmy pink peppercorn smell.
MnS do a good dupe for DnG light blue called azure.

Chanel chance eau fraiche is amazing also.

Shopaholic84 · 07/04/2016 08:15

Do any of these perfumes actually have good staying power? Or are they all eau du toilettes?

I like citrusy smells too but staying power is my number one priority!

Petal02 · 07/04/2016 11:59

Sunshine by Paul Smith

And another vote for D&G's Light Blue.
