Are these shoes horrible? I can't tell anymore.

I need to wear some sort of shoes on my feet. My feet tend to get really cold so I need the shoes to be sock-wearable. High heels hurt. Will I look really stupid if I buy these? It's so so hard to find nice flats. Help!

Exactly what mumuseum said

I'm with you there, museumum.

The eccos linked to are even more hideous.

I guess I just don't like broguey lace-up things. They remind me of the clumpy shite we all wore in the 90's to look 'gothic' (although at least we kind of got away with it as were lithe 20-year-olds who could wear anything).

I would feel like a man in them now.

Horrid, clumpy looking and look like they woukd be kept for best by a saga holidays customer.

Voteforpedr0 · 06/04/2016 10:01

Get yourself a pair of supportive trainers, I find adidas good for that type of thing

Floggingmolly · 06/04/2016 10:08

I like them. Very few comfortable shoes look pretty...

SwedishEdith · 06/04/2016 10:13

Those who hate them, what would they suggest (other than trainers) for walking in comfort?

PinotEgregio · 06/04/2016 13:21

Oh wow! Sorry for disappearing, everyone. I tried two or three times to post the thread and it didn't seem to work so I thought "Ah sod it, if I don't love them I won't buy them."

Thing is, I wasn't even going for the frumpy/masculine/geeky whatever you want to call it look Sad My dream style icon (ahem Blush) is the character of Stella Gibson in The Fall - well, if she habitually slopped around the house in jeans and hoodies she would be - but she wears 4-inch stilettos that I could never never walk in. Aargh! Is there a bang-head-off-wall emoticon?

I think my ideal shoes would be a pair of very comfortable, very hard-wearing, completely flat ankle boots which are also feminine and sophisticated.

Also, just for the avoidance of any doubt, I don't mind people telling me shoes are hideous before I've bought them Smile

I tried them on today (in black) and they were great. My main critic (youngest daughter) liked them as well. I might get them!
