Are these shoes horrible? I can't tell anymore.

I need to wear some sort of shoes on my feet. My feet tend to get really cold so I need the shoes to be sock-wearable. High heels hurt. Will I look really stupid if I buy these? It's so so hard to find nice flats. Help!

Yuk. Sorry.

MrsBenWyatt · 05/04/2016 19:26

I love them. Every time I'm in Clarks I drool over them, but I have too many brogue-type shoes already Sad

navygravy · 05/04/2016 19:30

I like them and I'd wear them like Mabel. Or with Comme des Garcons type stuff. Assuming they have good instep support they look comfortable and pretty cool. Don't like the brogues with the little block heel, too fussy.

ImperialBlether · 05/04/2016 19:32

They really are ugly. How can you drool over old men's shoes like that, MrsBenWyatt?

iyamehooru · 05/04/2016 19:36

My first thought was they look masculine

Branleuse · 05/04/2016 19:36

they just look like really basic shoes, that nobody would even notice. Theyre neither nice, nor not nice

MrsBenWyatt · 05/04/2016 19:38

Imperial I love brogues and they are golden brogues Grin

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 05/04/2016 19:41

I think they are hideous, but if you like them go for it.

Nettletheelf · 05/04/2016 20:20

They are TERRIBLE. Sorry Mabel. Run, OP!

I dont like them but then I've never really taken to the brogue style shoe. I agree with the masculine comment.

museumum · 05/04/2016 20:35

I like them. But I like masculine shoes jackets and bags.
I don't think masculine is frumpy. Old lady shoes are frumpy - ones that are neither unashamedly masculine like these not properly feminine either.

Batladyandrose · 05/04/2016 21:30

Love fashion. Love shoes. Hate heels blogg (sorry if this has been posted already up thread) this might be worth a look op, lots of summer stuff on there atm but you might be able to get some inspiration!

PetrolBastard · 05/04/2016 21:32

Really like the ones TellEmSteveDave linked to.

MabelSideswipe · 05/04/2016 21:39

No need to apologise if you think they are hideous. I am long past giving a crap about anyone else's opinion!

Judydreamsofhorses · 05/04/2016 21:46

I like them. I'd wear them with rolled up skinny jeans, or opaque tights and shortish skirts. I love a masculine shoe and pretty much live in brogues or Chelsea boots.

notasgreenasiamcabbagelooking · 05/04/2016 22:04

I like them. I ordered them myself but sent them back as they arrived scratched and never got round to ordering them again. They're extremely comfy and as a previous poster said, they're light and not clumpy at all. And I can tell you that they sold out pretty quickly in the shop selling them in the Spanish city where I live, where the women are not known for being frumpy! With rolled up jeans they looked really nice. And those platform type heels seem to be pretty popular right now.

paulapantsdown · 05/04/2016 23:16

I love em - in fact I'm going to get them!

figureofspeech · 06/04/2016 04:06

How about ecco shoes? They look comfy and good for walking.

KoalaDownUnder · 06/04/2016 04:48

They're like the bastard love-child of a Doc Marten and a school shoe from 1984.

Verdict: kill with fire.

Marzipants · 06/04/2016 05:28

I like 'em. I'm just starting to get my head round the crepey sole thing that's everywhere at the moment, but I think they look really good.

Dreamqueen · 06/04/2016 07:34

My friend has them in black & they look lovely. She wears them with both dresses & trousers.

museumum · 06/04/2016 08:58

MN s&B really bamboozles me. On the same thread the OP shoes are proclaimed "frumpy" but then Ecco shoes are recommended!?!?!???

To me the OP shoes are clumpy and masculine but a bit cool and I like them.
Ecco shoes are almost all 100% comfort and 0% style.

Salene · 06/04/2016 09:02

There nice if your over 70 years old

If not they are hideous 🙈
