Mmmmm, chicken.... I want some honey mustard chicken NOW

Lalsy · 20/04/2016 19:43

Crisis chicken recipes added to crepey cookbook and new linkee available - PM me if you would like it. You just need to cut and paste the link into your browser.

Cremo · 20/04/2016 21:47

Mum still not great, but has been set up with a respirator ( that's her and dad both). Possible pleurisy.Sad She has however a slightly improved appetite and managed some M&S Blushroast chicken a few haricots and a small potato. Dad very stressed and struggling ( worried about mum) Mum weak and not able to be the Rock she usually for dad. I am in the spare room thinking of you MI , in solidarity.

CointreauVersial · 20/04/2016 21:55

Crem, at least you are there for them.

Lalsy - yes please for linky. Looking forward to trying lots of Stylish and Beautiful chicken recipes, and more....

motherinferior · 20/04/2016 21:55

God, now hopelessly confused about it all. Not sure if I've dashed down in unnecessary panic - except it is a good idea if someone competent is here and it's not going to be my dad.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/04/2016 22:23

You can keep busy cooking chicken for every meal! Thinking of you MI.

Lalsy · 20/04/2016 23:04

Crem, that is a lot to juggle. MI, it is very stressful not knowing what is around the corner but having to decide anyway....Thinking of you both.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/04/2016 23:18

Chicken, schmicken - I think we should head over to GGG for dinner.

I have had a shit day, although nowhere near as shit as Crem's or MI's, and have just had a huge row with DH about a trivial issue regarding online payment for DD1's school trip. Cat has shit on the bath mat, which I regard as being better than the bed (that's how low my standards have got). I have just had enough of it all - I have unreasonable deadlines at work.my boss (about to leave) being an arse from long distance, and other people trying to blame me for their cock ups.

I have also had so much wine that my mouth is numb. I feel that this doesn't bode well for tomorrow.

hattymattie · 21/04/2016 07:13

Morning ladies - Mrs S -sounds like a very stressful day, added to by night time shenigans by DD1 apparently.

Crem - my DM had pleurisy many years ago - it was awful.

MI - the stess of not knowing is sometimes worse.

Lalsy - yes please for PM for chicken.

bigTillyMint · 21/04/2016 08:11

MI, I think that's how it goes, up and down. Very difficult for all concerned.

Crem, sending strength - ministering unto the sick is not one of my strengths.

MrsS, hope today's a bit better.

Blackduck · 21/04/2016 08:14

Blimey Cremo - pleurisy! Thinking of both you and MI.

Lalsy can you send me linky again too please.....

I have been having lots of thoughts about my wasted life, and how I haven't done anything and am frustrated, this is not helped with Victoria popping her clogs at 62......

MrsS is there something intrinsically wrong with where you work? Their ability to promote complete a*holes to management positions can't just be accidental can it? (looks around, decides its probably how the world works....)

addle · 21/04/2016 08:15

No chicken recipes here but lots of sympathy, especially MI and Crem.

MI - I think you just have to do what seems right at the time - you can't know and as Hattie says that's sometimes worse

In S&B news, wearing me + em dress recommended by crepeys, or at least sale was recommended. Is v nice, as was the jumper I bought. Think they will be new useful shop - Lalsy have you looked there for tops?

herbaceous · 21/04/2016 08:23

Aggghhh. Went into adult ed job yesterday to put together my course file. Have to include no fewer than 17 forms and pointless bits of paper, tailored to the course. Which I had to invent, with no guidance from boss. Boss is temporary, and leaving in June. Doesn't give a toss. Two big bosses above him too scary. No idea how to tailor course file to course.

Still don't know whether I will be teaching one or three lessons next week. Have planned lessons down to the nth minute, then boss tells me I have to include dreary 30-minute induction. Plans ruined. Computers don't work, no-one knows where anything is, and about one in ten desks are occupied, as so many people have been let go.

Horrible.

Beginning to think I've made something of a balls up, career wise.

Have no money, so couldn't even console self in TK Maxx.

Here endeth self-indulgent rant.

motherinferior · 21/04/2016 08:47

Mum really not good today. Carers (who are v nice) distressed at how much she is deteriorating - last night's young woman was in tears afterwards because she'd missed a week. We got her into the sunny (if chilly) conservatory to sit for a bit but please make me go and live somewhere flat when I turn 60...

motherinferior · 21/04/2016 08:55

She is down to the bone. Didn't know she could get thinner. Is not taking anything in but I think the play of sun and shadow in a place of which she has v good memories is pleasant for her.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/04/2016 09:00

MI - Sad. Sending you strength and good vibes. And Wine and Flowers.

Rosebag · 21/04/2016 09:16

I'm so sorry MI. Refusal to eat is very telling but the sun in the conservatory is a lovely place to sit with her. Love and strength xxx

herbs Flowers don't throw the baby out with the bath water. You're good at this job. Just rejig the programme to nod to this induction thingy. Are there any other teachers there you can talk to, rather than disinterested bosses?

mrsS Flowers

Poor DS has gone off to his driving test very nervous and under confident. I don't have a very good feeling about this.... Hmm

wordassociationfootball · 21/04/2016 09:19

" ...the play of sun and shadow in a place of which she has v good memories is pleasant for her."

Sad but beautifully put MI.

Dreamqueen · 21/04/2016 09:22

Flowers and Brew MI

magimedi · 21/04/2016 09:24

Flowers MI.

hattymattie · 21/04/2016 09:40

MIFlowersthinking of you.

Lalsy - thanks for the link.

If only we could all be like the Queen - bloody amazing for her age. She obviously hasn't done too much sun bathing either.

motherinferior · 21/04/2016 10:01

Queen is product of sturdy stock which resisted fighting and poisons, compounded with world-class healthcare and v undemanding job, innit.

motherinferior · 21/04/2016 10:01

I was nervous for all five of my driving testsGrin

magimedi · 21/04/2016 10:16

First World Rant Alert.

Just had a call from DS to tell me that the weather forecast for them for the next 5/6 days is for very cold & snow down to village level.

FFS - It's Spring - I wanted to flit round alpine meadows like Julie Andrews Grin

Off to find hats, scarves, gloves & snow-berluddy-boots. Angry

motherinferior · 21/04/2016 10:32

Yes, but PFGD will look adorable in cuddly little onesies! With a furry-lined hood!
