Before I shell out my hard-earned wonga on that eye-lash growing stuff...

Does it work??

Recently my left bottom lashes are breaking or not growing properly or bloody something - I'm getting gaps - so y'know, emergency measures are called for.

Is Rivitalash the best? Any other recommendations? Or save my money and suck up the lack of eyelashes?

Coconut oil works on eyebrows so might do for lashes. Pixiwoo have been recommending Lilash recently

Aw square where do you buy it from? And sorry didn't realise it was the generic name

Report
SquareDolphin · 01/04/2016 19:33

missapples I get DH to buy it from countries with unregulated pharmacies on work trips...not UK, sorry. Indian pharmacies are always a winner (and you can buy online I'm sure but price will be slightly jacked up for postage), but there are other countries happy to supply, especially to foreigners ie outside local medical system.

Mines from Allergan and I use 0.03% but see lumigan comes in a 0.01% version too.

There was another useful thread quite recently about side effects which is definitely worth a read for anyone thinking about using this.

This is a link about side effects. You may be ok but personally I wouldn't risk it. Your eyes are so important!

I use the Mavala one. I stopped using it when I ran out and really noticed the difference. I dye my eyelashes and eyebrows and when I use this, I don't have to do it as often. I don't need to use mascara every day either. I don't think I shall ever be without it now. It is about £11 on Amazon.

I have been using the Mavala one as well for a few weeks now. It's not a quick fix but I think that my eyebrow gaps are filling in and my lashes are growing. The gaps in my lower lashes have filled in. I used Rapidlash and got subconjunctival haemorrhages in my eye so be careful.Never had them before and never since .

Sorry meant to say that it is not a quick fix.

The Latisse equivalent gave me ridiculous results I hadn't thought possible. Even put a curl in my permanently straight as an arrow previous lashes. Amazing stuff.

I get it from my eBay seller that I also get my retin a from. I trust her and my eyes haven't changed colour or anything scary.

Report
Jenda · 05/04/2016 01:05

Frowns, would you mind telling me who your eBay seller is? I've been looking for some retin a

Report
lcoc2015 · 05/04/2016 01:09

Latisse can make your eyes change colour so research thoroughly if its that one.

missapples · 05/04/2016 01:23

Grown could you pm me the sellers details? I need retin-An n more lumigan xx

Frowns, could you please pm me the Ebay seller of retin A and the lash stuff?

If/when you stop the lumigan, what happens your lashes? Sounds great, but tbh I think I would be terrified of side effects. And eye colour change?? Faints.

I do couple of months on, then couple months off.

This is because after 3 months or so of continuous use I noticed a reduction in fat under my eyes. I have no wrinkles or bags do this aged me a bit so I stopped until that settled BUT having looked at many before/after pics I believe this (rare) side effect can make an enormously positive difference to users with saggy bags under their eyes! As well as the lashes of course.

Realself.com is a good site to look at lots of real photos. You'll need to sign up to see all pics but it's free and will give you loads of info...good, bad and ugly.

My lashes stay silly-long for ages after I stop, so the sporadic treatment really works for me. BTW all fat replaced under my eyes within a month or so and it really is rare. No color change, but my eyes are brown anyway.

I'm starting back on a 2 month stint tomorrow night. Love it.

OK, fill yer boots OP. 483 reviews and bags of pics.

JohnCheese · 05/04/2016 19:20

Thanks for that. The results sound amazing.

I'll check in to realself but tbh, I'll probably use Rivitalash or one of them first. I've blue eyes, going brown would be, em, a bit noticeable!Grin

It's the best info resource for stuff like this, I think.

Not trying to tempt you, but my lashes were being commented on within about 10 days.
Definitely long and glossy. I seem to be at the extreme end of responsiveness though.

And yes, now you see the pics....ain't never going to happen with castor oil like that is it Wink

By the way, it works on sparse eyebrows too apparently. Good luck!

FrownsAndDimples · 05/04/2016 19:45

I do a similar thing to squaredolphin use for a few months then go into maintenance mode where I only apply twice a week.

Hah, castor oil was never gonna put a curl in my lashes.

Did you get any side effects frowns?

I sometimes have to trim mine with nail scissors Shock

Report
gingerboy1912 · 05/04/2016 19:53

Yes it worked for me took a few weeks to see the difference and had to do it everyday. Got fed up in the end as I kept forgetting to do it and it's expensive but yes it did work

No, none at all. But then I have brown eyes.

Goodness, you trim them! That's a result and a half.
