So what brand make up are teens using these days?

When I was 15 it was all about Avon, Boots No 7 and that was about it. It's my neices birthday soon and I'm guessing a Heather Shimmer lippie isn't quite going to cut the mustard so I'm looking for ideas. She's daft about make up.

Urban decay, Mac and benefit.

If you're used to Avon prepare for a shock 😁

westcountrywoman · 24/03/2016 22:43

My 15 year old cousin uses Benefit

agapanthii · 24/03/2016 22:48

Top shop own brand too

ouryve · 24/03/2016 22:50

I can't usually get past the MAC counter for teens.

maiscout · 24/03/2016 22:50

eatshitderek I think you're taking about the urban decay naked palette?

I agree, the naked palettes are popular with teens but pretty expensive.
MAC products seem to be universally liked by under 20s.
For cheaper products bourjois, rimmel, loreal, revlon

Racheyg · 24/03/2016 22:54

Smashbox.

WhatamessIgotinto · 24/03/2016 22:55

Shit, that's all really expensive stuff! I don't want to be the 'embarrassing auntie' though! Grin

That shade of orange and those eyebrows need heavy duty paint, "Whatamess" :o

RJnomore1 · 24/03/2016 23:02

Try NYX. Its much more reasonable, I think boots sell it now, and my 16yo likes it

Donge13 · 24/03/2016 23:04

Urban decay, Mac or benefit

hollinhurst84 · 24/03/2016 23:04

Makeup revolution is popular. The new palette fortune favours the brave is decent and the radiance palette
Sleek is a good one too
NYX for lip stuff

CentreYourCheese · 24/03/2016 23:06

Revolution at Superdrug. Have to crowbar my way through hoards of teens to get a look in!

23jumpstreet · 24/03/2016 23:14

Mac or benefit

AuntieStella · 24/03/2016 23:21

Younger teens: stuff from Claire's and Maybelline

m0therofdragons · 24/03/2016 23:24

Oh god I feel old - why would you want to put anything on your face with "decay" in the name? Confused

tabulahrasa · 24/03/2016 23:30

"Oh god I feel old - why would you want to put anything on your face with "decay" in the name?"

Um, I have a fair amount of urban decay make up...I'm old, well definitely not young, lol.

They do good colours and it goes on well and stays on.

Ludwsys · 24/03/2016 23:36

My 17 yo dad uses Mac

Ludwsys · 24/03/2016 23:36

DSD, my dad only wears make up at weekends! Lol

skippy67 · 24/03/2016 23:46

My 15yo loves kiko make up.

MadisonAvenue · 24/03/2016 23:47

If you're unsure maybe a gift card would be better? Large Boots stores sell Benefit and Smashbox and MAC cards are available from their site with free delivery.

Ferrerotoffeemint · 24/03/2016 23:48

Just ask her if there's anything she's got her eye on, no point spending ££ on items you don't even know she will like. What colours does she wear and what brands does she already use.

CakeThat · 25/03/2016 08:47

In some branches of Boots you can get 4 small pick and mix Benefit products in a free make up bag for £15. Would be a pretty cool teen present perhaps?

Larastheme · 25/03/2016 09:37

With my teen cousins its all about NYX and the balm, and the real technique brushes, I didn't know you need that much brushes to put makeup on! They use about four for foundation and sculpting alone! Shock I felt like a dinosaur listening to their explanation, and if you could get your hands on the kylie Jenner lip kit? Your niece will worship you forever,
