ART shoes are wonderfully comfortable. And wear really well.

Check out the Rieker website (cannot do link sorry). Now you have to face some real granny shoes but they have a few ungranny styles and they wear really well and are comfy.

Also on the comfy stakes are Pikolinos. Ideal for Summer.

Choughed · 12/03/2016 13:52

Fly London - no size 3s.

I'm not a fan of brogues, and I'm too lazy for shoe lacesBlush

As a rule Hotter shoes are very ugly indeed. Sometimes they try to fool you by shooting from a nice angle, putting someone very pretty in the pircutre, or a lovely location and you find yourself seduced a little thinking they will be comfortable and well made and last ages. Sometimes you come to your senses and see them in the garden centre shoe shop ( clue) and realise they are as totally Fugly as was inevitable. Sometimes you order by post and
are horrified when they arrive. unless you are totally unconcerned by how you look do not buy Hotter. Camper are very comfortable and stylish.

Jbck · 12/03/2016 13:57

Ive had the DMs, fabby I'd go with them personally. Im fond of an ugly shoe but some of the previous ones are beyond fugly.

YouMakeMyDreams · 12/03/2016 14:08

Love the ART shoes. Was a bit Hmm when I first opened link but scrolling through the pictures they look lovely on.

weasle · 12/03/2016 14:21

I had a pair of Camper shoes and they weren't particularly comfortable, didn't last very long and were v expensive.
I've got several pairs of Hotter shoes (carefully chosen) and they are fabulous. V comfy and last ages. However I need a new pair and don't really like any of the current stock. I like heels but the current ones are all a bit ugly.

I also have some nice but comfy M and S shoes they do a 'comfort' range foot glove?? I'm sure they'd do a size 3 too

seb1 · 12/03/2016 14:22

How about these OP Patent DM

weasle · 12/03/2016 14:22

Oh and fly London boots look good but leaked and fell apart quickly x2. Comfy though.

seb1 · 12/03/2016 14:26

or these DM shoes

IHaveBrilloHair · 12/03/2016 14:34

Have you looked at Tuk?

GameOfGroans · 12/03/2016 14:45

How about something like these? They are slightly higher up your foot than pumps so you might not need a strap.

These shoes - granny-ish or acceptable?
ouryve · 12/03/2016 14:47

Why the hell would they not be "acceptable"?

Petal02 · 12/03/2016 15:00

If the brief is 'comfort' then I'd go for black Skechers. Skechers are unashamedly comfortable, they don't pretend to be high fashion, whereas the hotter shoes scream 'I'm trying to be fashionable but am failing dismally.'

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 12/03/2016 15:02

I'm also a fan of an ugly shoe (esp Campers) but I am not keen on Hotter, sorry.

Was going to suggest another Spanish shoe company, El Naturalista. I love some of their shoes but they are too narrow for me. A friend swears by them for comfort. Would either of these be smart enough?

OP - are you looking for work shoes? Just wondering if you are a nurse?

Drquin · 12/03/2016 15:12

If you're after comfortable shoes for walking / driving, I'd be tempted to go for trainers of some kind. Sketchers do a pull on variety.

They're not "smart" (well, not in an office-smart kind of way) and aren't trying to be, unlike some of the earlier suggestions. If you're worried about style, then it's kind of obvious you're wearing a comfy shoe for walking if you bought something like these, rather than trying to find "stylish walking shoe" Wink

Icapturethecastle · 12/03/2016 15:16

What about fit flop Mary Janes they come in a size 3 here I know someone who has them - they said they are really comfortable

Petal02 · 12/03/2016 15:23

I'm liking the fit flop Mary Janes.

polyhymnia · 12/03/2016 16:05

Joust another who loathes Hotter with a passion. They are truly ugly and worse when they try to be fashionable. The opposite of stylish. And the one time I bought a pair of their sandals in a moment of madness they cut my feet to purces too.
I also hate Clarks, though I do know they have many fans on here.
I have had a few FFs and found them very comfortable though the thick soles make many of them look 'remedial ' from the side on.
Also another who, as a grandmother, objects to the lazy use of 'granny' for shoes etc which are frumpy! There are stylish and unstylish grannies, as with any other group of women.

polyhymnia · 12/03/2016 16:06

Just, not joust!

polyhymnia · 12/03/2016 16:06

And pieces, not purces!

Oldraver · 12/03/2016 16:54

I had (well still have) some Clarks Funky Twirl that are similar style to them but just a little nicer. I cant wear totally flat pumps either

iamEarthymama · 12/03/2016 16:59

This is a great site for shoes that you can actually, you know, walk in!

I second El Naturalista and DMs for Mary Janes.

Also eBay is great and you may get a bargain as you are size 3.

Oldraver · 12/03/2016 17:00

I love these but I too am a fan of fugly quirky shoes

Donthate · 12/03/2016 17:06

Try next forever comfort sporty Mary janes
