My experience is that white soled shoes get mucky looks really quickly Pass but thank you Smile

I wouldn't get Clarkes shoes, they fall apart in approx 6 months. Definitely not worth the money.

Byrdie · 12/03/2016 13:11

Passthewine - nice. I'd wear those.

G1raffe · 12/03/2016 13:11

My Clarks brogues have lasted years.

I'm following as I can't wear ballet flats) and they're not good for your feet) but any shoes which are good for feet/I can keep on tend to look grannyish.

I do love a shoe with a strap...

RoobyMyrtle · 12/03/2016 13:11

The first ones are grim imo, but I like the third. Have you tried Alegria shoes. They're really comfywww.cheerfulsoles.co.uk/alegria-paloma-shoe-black.html?gclid=CjwKEAiAmY-3BRDh7pjvg46p1iYSJADQ78gNxjoHQCuaHmVs5bieROVqlvccqLNirseqOSoUSd535xoC897w_wcB

I live very rurally so very limited access to shops. I've been to Clarks and the only ones they make in a 3 are the ones Pass linked to.

I have different sized feet so I need a strap sadly.

Ah, I see your point. I've never had a problem with Clarks.

How about something something like these? I especially like the snake skin ones

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/03/2016 13:13

All of them are hideous. Sorry but they are.

MrsPMT · 12/03/2016 13:14

What about these OP?

I have similar prob and can't wear pumps.

MrsPMT · 12/03/2016 13:16

Sorry didn't realise those already linked by pass, got distracted googling for shoes Blush

SwedishEdith · 12/03/2016 13:25

Art shoes? Incredibly comfortable.

AstrantiaMallow · 12/03/2016 13:26

I don't like the first pair you linked to and the others do look a bit a school girly.

But the 2nd pair you linked to, the Audrey from Hotter, seems OK to me. What are you planning to wear them with?

Choughed · 12/03/2016 13:28

I like those SwedishEdith... Pic for opinions.

Or I could get some DMs.

Yes to DMs.

Choughed · 12/03/2016 13:31

I want some smartish flat shoes for work. I tend to wear heels in the office and flats going to and from work (20 min walk) or for walking round campus (university campus, hilly, lots of steps). Also I wear flats for driving in when using the car for work.

Mrskeats · 12/03/2016 13:32

Horrible
Like the Clarks ones though
Sorry

Choughed · 12/03/2016 13:33

Doc Martens...

MrsPMT your link didn't work for me but I searched the site for size 3s and couldn't find any flat strapped ones.

I'm 42 btw.

OP posts:
LizzieMacQueen · 12/03/2016 13:38

Those Doc Martens one in your 13:28 post are the nicest. Do they come in a size 3?

Choughed · 12/03/2016 13:41

Yes, they're available in a 3 but they're £90 Shock

OP posts:
SwedishEdith · 12/03/2016 13:42

DM's always look OK but they take so long to break in it puts me off now.

LizzieMacQueen · 12/03/2016 13:45

Have you looked at Fly London shoes?

slebmum1 · 12/03/2016 13:45

Good grief they are horrendous. What about a brogue style - avoids the need for a strap?

Floisme · 12/03/2016 13:47

It would be really nice if mumsnetters could stop using 'granny' as a synonym for ugly or unstylish.

I don't particularly like them but being able to walk is important to me so if they were the only comfortable shoes I could find, I would wear them and just give extra thought to the rest of my outfit.

And as Lizzie says, they don't look that different to Fly who are not my cup of tea but who describe themselves as 'the brand of universal youth fashion culture.'

G1raffe · 12/03/2016 13:48

I'd feel a bit like a gran though in brogues with a dress or leggings. (bit large)
