Can I contribute En fleek and hodge from round our way... although my Norf London slang is out of date I realise as I no longer have to listen to my boys bickering over family supper every night. Ds2 doesn't waste his slang on us middle aged has beens.

Ds1's term finished today after two (2, II) exams which, rather scarily count towards his final degree. He says they went well. Phew. He's staying a few days before heading home middle of next week.

So looking forward to tomorrow my lovely Crepeys. Laters.

bigTillyMint · 11/03/2016 21:23

Oh BD, early night perhaps?

Blackduck · 11/03/2016 21:39

GGG are you joining the early crowd? So like to see you :)

Dad saw home and at same time assessment at hospital so fingers crossed...

herbaceous · 11/03/2016 22:00

O lovely crepeys I do wish I was joining you tomorrow. Plans with friend are irritatingly plastic - imagine herding cats. Still, hopefully I'll see some of you soon if my local fin/bingo night comes off!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/03/2016 22:19

We'll miss you darling - but I promise to have a drink for you.
Fin and bingo?? I was rather hoping for gin!

BD, I hope to come to Mrs S new found den of iniquity... but won't be much before 6ish. What time are you expecting to have to push of to look after your poor dad?

motherinferior · 11/03/2016 22:23

Prestige means naice. Quite approvingly though usually out of the speaker's financial league. Unlike en fleek (which for a long time I thought just referred to eyeliner).

Blackduck · 11/03/2016 22:30

GGG will hope to stay till 8.00 ish so should touch base...

Collymollypuff · 11/03/2016 23:06

Crem, dd is welcome to join the Addams Family in Wimbledon any time she likes...Wimbledon is prestige , she oughtta have a look at it. Wink

Yet more proof, if it were needed, of the genius of DS. Listening to classic fm at dinner time, yah, and a few bars into a piece he said 'mummy, this is Mozart, isn't it'. A quick Shazam, and yes indeed, it was.

Aw, Herbs, so sweet.

One of mine has just been described as "safe" and "so bomb".

BeachysFlipFlops · 12/03/2016 08:38

Ds's contribution is 'schlid', appaz short for 'shit lid', which in itself is slang for 'bad haircut' Grin limited use, I feel!

I'll be there early. Not sure how far the venues are apart, so I can judge what time you'll be leaving Venue A?

motherinferior · 12/03/2016 08:42

Oh Christ on a bike have just had to contact mum's GP for her. Hope it's not too alarming (symptom that does need tackling)...thank f*ck lovely cousin is there. A woman of great competence and occasional bossiness.

bigTillyMint · 12/03/2016 09:50

My lovely old colleague passed away last night. She was only 7 years older than meSad

Beachy, it's about 10 mins walk between the two I think.

MrsSchadenfreude · 12/03/2016 09:55

Your cousin sounds great, MI. Hoorah for cousins. My cousin's DD messaged me last night to tell me not to worry about my tits - she did part of her Master's on breast radiography (or something like that) and went into great scientific detail about it, but said that the main message was it wasn't something to worry about, but that they would keep an eye on me.

DD2 contributes "fire" and "lit" to words that you use if something is good. "On fleek" is usually something to do with make up or fashion. DD1 said she'd only heard it used for eyebrows.

I am having most of the office over for curry on Monday night, and have just popped a beef rendang in the slow cooker.

Laters, peeps. I hope to be able to join you at the bar at around 6.

CointreauVersial · 12/03/2016 10:21

So it's bar from 5.00-ish, or MT from......7.00? Is that right? Not sure when I'll rock up, but mine's a pina colada. Wink

motherinferior · 12/03/2016 10:29

BTM, that is so sad.

Have been wrestling with healthcare impasse. Dad as usual contributing fuck-all to the proceedings. Why can't HE ring 111?

CremoLafoam · 12/03/2016 10:40

Morning from Regent Strasse. I'm shopping and drinking caffeine. Last night was wonderfully filled with great stories of my brother mostly, and also the silly drinking we used to do in Clapham Common hostelries. So wonderful, I feel buoyed up. Wish dd had been there, but amazing her and the gf/bf are celebrating Holi somewhere today. ConfusedHmm aren't they a week early?

Molly see you in a few hours.Grin

motherinferior · 12/03/2016 11:07

Suspect I shall mostly be working today, with a break to go out for lunch with DD1 Grin.

herbaceous · 12/03/2016 11:11

Today I shall be mainly pottering, watching DS in his performance of Oliver, and going out boozing this evening.

I may also well be buying this lovely bicycle from my friend who is selling hers. I have a bike already, but it's more of a mountain/hybrid, and gives me neckache from the slightly lower riding position. This kind of thing might be just the ticket. And it is rather lovely!

Ooh the train now has WiFi! Have escaped from the drama at home and am looking forward to 24hrs respite.

Collymollypuff · 12/03/2016 11:31

Crem, we are cleaning in anticipation...the best way we know how, which is a little, er, vague on detail. Grin

Lovely sun here - if the house appals you, just look at the garden. Grin

bigTillyMint · 12/03/2016 11:35

Yes that's right CV.

Cremo, when and where were you drinking in CC hostelries? I lived there 87- 92!

I am meeting Stropps for a wander round the shops before drinks, once I have finished drilling DS on his French CA/taken him for a new passport photo/sorted out DD's mate who stayed over/picked DD up from work...
DH is at work this morning - so much for his "interim" promotionHmm

Stropperella · 12/03/2016 11:42

I was also in the vicinity of Clapham Common from 1988-90. You may have bought some booze from me. :-)

motherinferior · 12/03/2016 11:47

I was in Brixton and probably lurched through Clapham quite often.

Collymollypuff · 12/03/2016 11:49

Surely we need nostalgia MUs in Clapham Common then? Has been my stamping ground at intervals.
