Enjoy some fresh air, Auriga. And some space - for a little while at least.

My df was busy fighting the Japanese in the Burmese jungle for a short while before the real end game started. He did this in 3 different languages in the middle of the night and appeared to think dm was the enemy quite frequently.

addle · 21/03/2016 19:37

Rose Sad

MI - think Lalsy's suggestion excellent, with perhaps a tinge of Herbs'

Molly - yes of course! to NPG

G&Dolls was excellent, esp. Samantha Spiro as Miss Adelaide

where was lunch, Herbs?

Blackduck · 21/03/2016 19:50

Rose so very sorry :(

Auriga that sounds very tough.

Here mum had a bad night so they let her sleep in. Coughing/choking a lot too.

I am unaccountably shattered so in bed with iPad and intent on an early night.

CremOlafoam · 21/03/2016 23:17

Sleep well ye tired and harried Crepeys, especially you Auriga. If anybody deserves the sleep of all sleeps it is you, so hopefully someone else can get up if needs be for a change.
Night night.Thanks

Auriga · 22/03/2016 01:02

Thank you all, your support and good wishes are truly sustaining.

I'm in my own bed with DH snoring beside me and a Marie Curie nurse is with DM. Sisters helped me with her earlier & also shopped, cooked & made up beds, while DH chauffeured DD and went to support her at her concert (yes, another one - choir this time).

I decided this morning that we didn't need a canine welcome for the 5 (Five, V) different HCPs and the bed-assembly-team who came today, so sent DDog to sitter. Sitter fell asleep and forgot to bring her back, so she's on a sleepover Grin

Montserrat, how is it with your DDad? And BD, did your DM's day improve?

MI, how about OOO saying you're sorry you can only check your e-mails occasionally & rarely have time to answer them at the moment? Or is it the same e-mail younuse for work?

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2016 06:41

Auriga, very glad to hear your sis are now arrived and taking a turn. And that the nurse/HCP's have actually come/been able to do something.

CV, hope your boiler is sorted - brrrrr, cold shower? No thanks! And how is your DH? One of my friends had this and it went on for aaaaaages.

CremOlafoam · 22/03/2016 09:14

Am taking note of clixby Herbs. This is exactly how I need to be with some of our more entitled customers.Grin I just didn't know it had a name.

Off to Hand doctor today about my creaky paws. I'd cross my fingers if I could, but that's sort of the point.Grin

Auriga I hope both you and dm had a better night, esp now she has the new bed. Hoping for a better day for you.

Stropps, that's tragic about your ddad, but I had to smile because of the way you put it.Smile

Addle glad G&D was a jolly good show.

CV can I fill you a virtual hot water bottle? Dragon

motherinferior · 22/03/2016 09:16

Auriga, so pleased you had a better night. ThanksBrewWinefor today.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/03/2016 11:17

Clixby is excellent. Will store that up sleeve.

Hope today is better, Auriga, and that your sisters are helpful.

Rose - can adult children's names not go on the headstone in age order? Would that be agreeable to your DM?

Hideous news about Brussels. I lived there for nearly 5 years, and for part of that time commuted to Maalbeek. Was back there only a few weeks ago.

Got all clear at the hospital, but will have annual mammograms so that they can keep an eye on me. A great example of the NHS at its best, I think. Now have to go back to work. Ugh.

Collymollypuff · 22/03/2016 11:23

Hooray for the all-clear, MrsS. Hooray for the HCPs and sisters, and the bed, Auriga.

Lovely lovely day here. The sky is cloudless. And under it are horses.

magimedi · 22/03/2016 11:43

So pleased you have had a good sleep, Auriga.

Another hooray for all clear and for the NHS. Whne it works it's amazing.

Dreadful news from Brussels.

Lalsy · 22/03/2016 11:45

MrsS, excellent news.

Yes, just awful.

Blackduck · 22/03/2016 12:26

Good to hear MrsS

Brussels is awful...

Ds is cooking chocolate easter cakes, and I am out at a friend's tonight (he of the champagne in the fridge ;) )

counting down to the long weekend......

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2016 12:54

That's great, MrsS.

Just seen the Brussels news - awfulSad

Rosebag · 22/03/2016 14:42

MrsS so pleased about our news. Long may it continue. My DBro is the youngest...I am the eldest...go figure Confused Hmm

Auriga i am glad the family is rallying round and that you amy be able to snatch a few moments break. BD sorry DM is choking and coughing. It must be very distressing. Flowers

Cremo good luck at the Hand Docs...is it carpel tunnel or some type of arthritic ailment. How incapacitating Flowers

Disgusted and horrified by the Brussels attacks by these vile, vile terrorists. My DM's family are Belgians. Sad

Here, I am still full of cold and catarrh. Have been to Fortnums (again) to take BFF for her birthday treat which was lovely. I just wish I didn't have such a blocked up, cotton wool head. Didn't enjoy the tube journeys in the light of what's happened in Belgium. But we can't let them stop us, can we. Can't say I noticed the enhanced police presence they promised us, though...

Rosebag · 22/03/2016 14:43

your news, I meant, MrsS Freudian slip.....

MontserratCaballe · 22/03/2016 14:46

Hello everyone

Glad to hear your sisters have arrived, Auriga. How is your mother today? Please do try, as far as you can, to ensure that you get some rest and keep your strength up. Thinking of you Flowers

MrsS, glad to hear all is well and that you are now on an annual check up only.

I am afraid that there is no better news from me. I went to see my dad on Saturday and he was asleep. He then deteriorated on Sunday and started panting and struggling to breathe. The Dr was called, who said it was probably just the natural shutting down process and sedated him. He is calm and comfortable but has not eaten / drunk since Sunday and now is unable to wee, which suggests the end is close. My Dr friend said it could be up to a week, but 1-3 days more likely.

My mum was insistent that I should stay here for a long as possible, but I am off to Sussex tomorrow in any event as the longer he lasts, the sooner it will be IYSWIM. I am on child watch tonight as DH away, and tomorrow my lovely nanny is going to take over (as she works for me on Wednesdays anyway) so I will take the kids to school then get on the train. It is very strange being in limbo, just waiting. I have dozed, read, watched Netflix and done a bit of cooking. I am very tired but can't sleep for long, so dozing is good.

Thanks for all the support, positive thoughts, texts and kind words. You are all marvellous Flowers

MontserratCaballe · 22/03/2016 14:48

X posts, Rose. I am so sorry about the stone. You must feel very hurt. People can be so unkind Flowers

Rosebag · 22/03/2016 14:51

Support from me, and I know from all the Crepeys, Monty. This is so sad xxx

motherinferior · 22/03/2016 14:57

Monty, take care.

My mum has been to see the palliative care consultant today. I am hoping that this will make things like more support possible.

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2016 15:04

Oh MontySadFlowers

Blackduck · 22/03/2016 15:26

Monty so sorry - big {{ }}

It's the drawn out nature of it I find so very hard.

MI - hoping things work out.

Aside from the actual situation this has also made me feel I have wasted my opportunities and not fulfilled my potential. These are not thoughts I need at this time.

magimedi · 22/03/2016 16:15

Such an awful wait - take care Monty. Flowers

MI I hope the consultant has been able to do something for your mother.

Dreamqueen · 22/03/2016 16:39

Monty big hug for you.
MrsS great news & what a good service from NHS
Flowers for everyone coping with parents.

Went for a lovely Chinese lunch with my brother today, Quick trip to Lidl & going to catch up on The Night Manager now. All in all a perfect day here.

CremOlafoam · 22/03/2016 16:54

Och Monty, how sorry I am for your dreadful situation. You sound incredibly stoical and calm in the circumstances, and I very much admire you for that. Thanks

BD I understand the feeling of not having fulfilled one's potential. It seems to me however, that you are doing that even now, just being there for your DM and family. Plenty of time for the other things I know you mean. Sometimes you need a catalyst though , and your experiences these last few months may well be it. Thanks

Rose, get well soon.are you going to the flat at Easter? You need a little healing jaunt , no?

Mrs S. Thank God all ok. I have been thinking about you, not least because my Boob Squashing is tomorrow morning. Getting teeth.
The Hand Man reckons there is a lot going on and wouldn't operate until I have more tests. Definitely carpal tunnel , definitely Duputren's contracture, but also possible that there is some arthritis going on tooShock Now on list for Orthopod and Nerve Conduction tests at various hospitals. Sigh.my hands are very sore nearly all the time, but in order to get on with things I tend to ignore them and , well, get on with things. The tramadol for back , also probably masking a lot of the pain too.
I was very sick in the night with acidic tummy. dear knows where that came from. Shock

Beachy, how so your tum? All ok as well I hope.
