Under eye cream

I seem to have recently developed really awful dark circles under my eyes, possibly linked to illness. I look bad enough at the best of times, and now I look even worse! I'm very pale, and then I have these awful dark bruise-ish looking circles.

I use a Garnier roll-on thing, which has always been fine, but it's no longer cutting the mustard. Any recs, please? Ideally at the cheaper end of the scale, at least in the first instance.

go to your local Debenhams and look puzzled. then the assistants will come to you and try to get you to spend. but I just say that "I have very sensitive skin and prefer to try before I buy. I do have vouchers for the shop blah blah blah"

I go to Clinique regularly and do this and I come out with few samples.

You can't do much for dark circles except cover them up with makeup or ignore them. I mainly opt for ignore but like Benefit Erase Paste for when I go for the makeup option.

I think you need to go for the cream and the cover, but you have to remember to put the cream on at the start of your regime, and the cover on later, when the cream has had time to settle..

The nest low cost eye cream I have come across is Nivea Q10. It's usually about £10 but I often get it half price in Tesco. It just seems to do the job far better than more expensive creams I have tried.

I used YSL Touche Eclat for years as an under eye concealer, but became allergic to it. At first I thought it must have "gone off" somehow and bought a new one but this was having the same effect, red scaly skin under eyes, very attractive. Apparently it's quite common to suddenly become allergic to it, but it does work well. I now use Lancome Teinte Miracle which is brilliant.

This combo works well for me - until I can pluck up the courage for surgery!!!!

I have dark circles. And I dislike heavy makeup. Not easy to cover dark circle lightly and believe me, I have tried. Expensive and cheap. Can't say I've found any difference in any of them so I use the Boots Collection dupe for Touché Èclat (became allergic to it mintoil, horrible stuff), it's as good as any.
The longest wearing concealer I've tried is Estee L double wear. Texture of pva glue, and cement-like sticking power.

If you want to be drastic you could get light fillers but I've chickened out of that

Lavazzz - so glad I'm not the only one. I've never once paid for eye cream (sorry Clinique!).

Oh yes, I should have mentioned, I use Estee Lauder double wear. Love it!!!

Urgh to fillers etc - not at all my thing. I'll look at the Collection one, thanks, and the Benefit one. No point spending a fortune because half the time I don't even remember to wear the stuff anyway.

I'm v pale with purple smudges under my eyes. I use erase paste which is great but the best under eye concealer I've used is Laura Mercier high coverage concealer for under eye. It's fairly expensive but you only need the tiniest of amounts so it lasts for aaaaggggesss.

As an aside, I have often stopped at counters and tried stuff. At the more expensive ones, they always bang on about 'corrector' and then a concealer. I'm and have never bought a corrector. Enough of a fad with flipping concealer. But does anyone know is corrector necessary/better/worth it?

Benefit erase paste. Got me through the first 12months of a new born.

And actually the boiing benefit concealer is good. It's lighter but effective. Cheaper option again is no.17 phwoar concealer.

Can fillers actually help with black circles? I'm so cack handed with make-up I could be tempted I think - if it's effective?

I use the Bobbi brown under eye corrector serum and concealer, it is £££s but last ages and lots of shades for an exact match.
I use soap and glory under eye cream which has reflective particles too. Every little helps

I find the soap and glory eye cream surprisingly effective - could see a difference.

Used to use the 17 one, but am a bit older now and it's not blending v well.

And the S&G one was excellent, but I found the packaging v flimsy and it broke.

Clinique All about eyes concealer is the best I've tried, a little goes a long way so whilst it isn't cheap, a little goes a long way.

Ahhh. The S&G one I had was the Kick Ass concealer. I think it's a concealer that I want tbh.

For eye cream I really like the Vitamin E one from the Body Shop. For concealer I'm using the S&G concealer that is like a little 3in1 kit, I really like that too.

I like nars concealer

I ve tried the Laura mercier one everyone raves about and it flipping well sits like wax on my skin and feels horrible. I would not recommend it even though it s supposed to be great.

In terms of cream
My favourite is l occitaine one, can't remember the name of it, blue pot smells divine.

At the moment using avene and always have Nivea one handy for in between times
