Under eye cream

I seem to have recently developed really awful dark circles under my eyes, possibly linked to illness. I look bad enough at the best of times, and now I look even worse! I'm very pale, and then I have these awful dark bruise-ish looking circles.

I use a Garnier roll-on thing, which has always been fine, but it's no longer cutting the mustard. Any recs, please? Ideally at the cheaper end of the scale, at least in the first instance.

JuanPotato Afaik, there is a filler which does reduce the dark circles. It has a Tyndall effect I believe. I could be talking complete hooha, but that is what I've been told. Under eye is hard to fill because the muscle around your eye ages a like a string vest, so imagine putting jelly in a string vest - it can cause bulges. You need an expert hand. I would be tempted but I haven't. Don't think I will either.

I'm tempted to try the soap and glory one myself - it's on offer at Boots for 3 for 2. Can anyone recommend what else to buy to get 3 for 2 ATM? Maybe the Benefit Boing. Sorry if hijacking.
I'm another one who can't see how fillers would help this (although OP says not interested anyway).
Also, Erase Paste - I have found this really thick and claggy. I seem to remember Collection 2000 (now just called Collection I think) had some really good value things, definitely concealers for marks on the face, not sure about undereye - might be worth investigating because they are not expensive.

I have dark circles and eye bags. I had my make-up done in the hairdressers once and she put on concealer gradually with a brush. When I looked in the mirror I was amazed. I looked like a different person. I have never managed to achieve that effect myself.

Wolpertinger · 31/01/2016 12:09

With erase paste it is thick and claggy - you need the tiniest weeniest amount but it stays! However you may only need to buy one pot in your whole life and even if you use it every day you would still only get half way through, you use so little.

If you see a Benefit lady, don't let her sell you Puff Off at the same time though - complete waste of money Sad

What's the difference between Erase Paste and Boing?

I have the same problem OP. I have been using Fade Out eye defence cream (£8.99 from Boots) It has worked in that the circles are less dark so I am able to conceal them more easily.

Any chance you're low on iron? Iron tablets got rid of my bruised looking under eye area.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/01/2016 14:51

Burnished - have had probs with iron deficiency anaemia, but have been taking liquid iron for absolutely ages and the docs tell me that my iron levels are 'fine' now.

Thanks, Lion. Will have a look on the Boots site. Just tried to do a search for Boing on there and it told me I'd been blocked for malicious content!!!!

Watching to find out the difference between the two benefit products.

Howaboutthisone · 31/01/2016 16:32

Also wondering about benefit lemon aid?

SoleBizzz · 31/01/2016 16:34

Mesotherapy got rid of mine.

Ididnthearanything · 31/01/2016 16:55

I have lemonaid. It is good, does a v good job on upper lids, a bit yellow on my dark circles.

Fillers will help dark circles that are caused by thinning skin (aging) or fat loss (aging).

trappedinsuburbia · 31/01/2016 17:24

I have fillers under my eyes and they don't really make any noticeable difference to the colour, the only thing that does is getting 9 hrs sleep!
I was told beforehand though.

Thanks for the info Ididnthearanything.
