Addle, I do separate pages for each employment and for self - employment. I do it online. If you're not already signed up for that it's a bit late but you can get the extra pages from the HMRC website I think.

Lalsy · 26/01/2016 22:43

Addle, when you start filling it in it takes you through the different options AFAIR - employment, self employment, directorship, run away to the Caribbean etc etc - and then presents you with relevant sections. You can't see the all the pages still to come I don't think as they are triggered by what you answer - how are you doing that?

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 07:23

This is one of the few benefits of being a limited company - you HAVE to have an accountant so they do this for you. At huge expense.

addle · 27/01/2016 07:29

Thank you everyone. I am doing it online and I've so far started to fill in the self employed page. Auriga - maybe that's the answer and I just do the basics on the employed page? GGG - yes, I'll give in and try the advice line . Notice I last visited the HMRC pages exactly this time last year so leaving it late is not new.

Nice pair of Jones boots delivered yesterday but I seem to have ordered them uner the illusion I'm about 5'10" - they come way up over my knees. back they go.

Lalsy · 27/01/2016 08:00

Addle, before you started the self-employed pages, did it ask you basic questions like are you self-employed, employed etc? That's what triggers the sections it then shows you I think. I would come out of the self employed section and see if you have told it you are employed.

Blackduck · 27/01/2016 08:16

MI sending strength.

You are all right Crepeys, but it just the frustrating thing of not having screwed up the interview myself Grin

Here mum recognised birthday cards etc, but was very vague and rambling.

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 08:44

Off to Norwich. They are now fussing because she has a cold but I have a ticket and am at Liverpool st and said see you there. We need to get this done!

Escalatorphobic aunt says cannot come till at least mid Feb. And still wants seriously incapacitated uncle to come with her. THEY ARE ALL MAD.

herbaceous · 27/01/2016 09:34

Thinking of you, BD and MI, with your parental trials. DP is off today to see his mum, who has belatedly started to acknowledge the 'future'. A fun day out for all.

In a rare example of social care actually going beyond expectations, my mum and dad got an unexpected visit from social services yesterday to assess their needs. It was set up by the GP. They can arrange for someone to come in and 'help', though mum remains adamant they don't actually need help. Still, as I pointed out, it's good to be in the system.

They're getting a stairlift fitted today, and are being very proactive. I feel soothed.

My tutee has cancelled today, so I have the entire day at my disposal. It is to include coffee/cake/whatever with the lovely rosebag!

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 09:39

Hurrah for that! Have a lovely whatever.

bigTillyMint · 27/01/2016 11:49

How nice, Herbs!

With my DM, the local SS have a branch called "Pop-In's" and a lovely woman came to assess DM 9 months ago. She gave me lots of info and arranged for an assessment which resulted in them fitting a grab-rail by the front door and the key box/emergency pendant stuff. She also gave me lists of Care Agencies - as she has some savings, we have to pay for the emergency pendant and carers. And apparently she will only get a SW when she needs personal care. But the lovely woman will come back and reassess her if necessary.

Good Luck MI!

NUFC69 · 27/01/2016 11:52

Good luck, MI. I hope things go better than you are anticipating.

Herbs, I think that it's a result as far as DPs are concerned. Enjoy your day off.

It's chaotic here as they are coming to fit the new carpet in our bedroom. There is furniture inevery other bedroom and I have just been hoovering up all the black rubber bits which have dropped like confetti off the underlay - they are everywhere. DH has now departed to the Tip to get rid of all the rubbish, and then we have to wait for the carpet fitters - Sod's law says we will be their last call of the day.

Cremo · 27/01/2016 12:06

MI , hoping for a smooth trip and good advice for dmum from hospital. Thanks

BD, must be awful for you. I'm desperately sorry. Holding pawThanks

NU , I bet you are last, but crossing fingers that they'll get to you after lunch.x I hate turning the place upside down too.

Rose and Herbs happy cake devouringCakeCakeCake

Today, my list of jobs is endless: get prescription, go to vet, call with dmum, collect picture from framers, stock up on goat feed , hay , straw for neighbour etc . Nightmare. May reward self with a scone and coffee this afternoon.
Loathe this kind of "day off " Confused

Blackduck · 27/01/2016 13:06

I have taken a days leave and have spent 4 hours cleaning the bedrooms 3.5 in ds's...). I now have a pile of books I need to pursuade him to part with.

I also Kondo'd my knicker draw and feel better for it.... Little things.

bigTillyMint · 27/01/2016 13:31

BD, can you hide them somewhere and see if he notices? Works for me!

Cremo, definitely get a scone and coffee.

I am trying to get stuff sorted at work for my colleagues over the next 2 days.

NUFC69 · 27/01/2016 13:36

I should Kondo all my drawers, BD: I have a superficially tidy house as long as people don't open drawers, cupboards, etc. We are going to struggle to find space to take DS's family's belongings when they come next month. We have 4 bedrooms and DH has "stuff" in every wardrobe and cupboard - he has spread in the years since the DC left home.

The carpet fitters have arrived - yippee. This means that we should be able to sleep in our own bed tonight.

bigTillyMint · 27/01/2016 14:31

NU, I have Kondo'd my clothes drawers and it is all zen-like and lovelySmile

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 15:20

I don't want to Kondo!

GP nice and reassuring in a we will be here for you way, but what can you really say...I have at least made sure she has weekly GP appointments. She still hasn't decided firmly against other drug but everyone advises against...

Cremo · 27/01/2016 17:24

MI that's very tough. Do you know the reason why? Very very difficult decision for her. Glad GP on side.

My ruddy GP forgot one of my vital pills, so now have to wait til T minus 0 days to get it. ( I've the day we go!) So not organised.
Scoffed a scone in Costa. Oh yeh! Now making a cake Cakefor cat sitters. ( good friends)

Can I li down yet ?

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 17:25

Why she is considering or why advise against?

magimedi · 27/01/2016 17:47

Sending love to all of you with Ageing Parental Problems.

You will come out the other side - you really will.

Lalsy · 27/01/2016 17:47

Lie down Crem!

MI, I suppose at least she hasn't got conflicting or ambivalent professional opinions. I am glad the GP was supportive - it can make all the difference IME.

Cremo · 27/01/2016 18:03

Why she has decided against treatment. Forgive me if you already covered this.

bigTillyMint · 27/01/2016 18:04

Glad the GP was nice MI.

So we are staying in a gite for skiing at half-term and I have just remembered that you have to take your own "draps" It is aaaages since we stayed in a gite. Do I take a bottom sheet and a duvet cover for each bed (I don't think we have any top sheets! and a towel each? Oh and teatowel?

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 18:18

The only possible treatment, Cremo, is a drug which seems to be v much a 'let's try this' for ovarian cancer. It has some success rate but mainly in people who've taken a full course of the drug that she's currently on - which isn't working so she has to stop (among everything else it's damaging her kidneys) and then had a few months off all treatment. Consultant has never known it to work in her circs. And it also is horrible to take - sickness, mouth ulcers, burning on hands and feet...consultant and GP v anti but will back her if she does want to try it.

motherinferior · 27/01/2016 18:19

Mad auntie now proposing to come 'mid feb'. At the earliest...
