User thank you! Here it is. This is one of my dresses as well from Lindybop! Ignore the lack of shoes...

I think it is the accessories which make the difference between tacky fancy dress and really stylish.

Is that a dress or top and skirt?

OP posts:
TaliZorah · 30/12/2015 20:58

It's a dress with a cropped cardigan Smile

I think so too!

user7755 · 30/12/2015 21:00

It looks lovely, the pattern on the skirt is gorgeous, quite unusual.

Thank you! I hope someone else posts pics now, I feel alone on here!

Currently lusting after VoH skirts Grin

MidnightVelvetthe4th · 30/12/2015 21:01

I love those black shoes!

user7755 · 30/12/2015 21:10

I'm on ebay, having a nosey. Fancy something a bit 60's for work. Full on circle skirt not really the done thing but can get away with 60s as it's a bit more subtle.

I don't do pictures of me but will post other pics as I find them Grin

user I've been lucky I've always been able to get away with wearing my normal stuff. Might post some of my brooches in a bit

GarlicCake · 30/12/2015 21:21

Tragically, I am vintage and Tethers probably has my old clothes in her static-illuminated wardrobe.

GarlicCake · 30/12/2015 21:32

User7755, would something like this be any good? Both from Asos. They have a ton of 60s style stuff.

They don't seem to have much in my size

I love a bit of 50s styling and this year I made two circle skirts and bought a proper chiffon underskirt. It seems to suit me as I seem to get compliments when I wear them.

One if a black on white polka dot with a wide elastic waistband and I wear it with a striped top.

The other is a cherry print and has a regular zip and button waistband. I made a top from the same fabric but it's not completely right so I normally wear a v-neck plain top.

I feel very dressed when I wear them, but not overdone. I love them!

Yay I just bought the ophelia from Lindy bop inspired by the other thread! Everyone was hating on them but they are beautiful! It's in a lovely green colour and was 9.99! And free delivery... Here's hoping it fits!

TaliZorah · 31/12/2015 07:00

Does anyone know where I can get some good belts from to go with vintage dresses? You can see in the green dress pic the dress is hanging away from me, but I can't wear waist belts because my torso is so short it is wider than it...

I like thin coloured belts but can't find any!

Pipbin · 31/12/2015 08:25

eBay is your friend for belts.

I'm lucky that I have a wonderful vintage boutique in my town. She now has all my money.

Pipbin · 31/12/2015 08:26
