Where do 40 something DHs buy their jeans?

Mine is currently wearing tatty 501s which he keeps buying even though he always moans about the quality.
Urgently needs a new pair but we don't have much time for trawling shops.
He wears a 36R and has large or should I say manly thighs.

All ideas welcome please!

DH is 44. He goes to John Lewis as he hates trawling endless shops and they do lots of different brands. He also goes to Gap and Uniqlo.

hiccupgirl · 13/12/2015 17:36

DH goes to Next or Gap but he is only a 30...sometimes 32 now.

AnyFucker · 13/12/2015 17:37

Next

My DP (pretty tall and slim) wears either Superdry or Scotch and Soda which we found in TXMaxx initially and now buy online in his size.

Bunbaker · 13/12/2015 17:47

OH (nearly 64) has very long legs and most places don't do long enough legs for him. I'm looking at you Levi.

I finally managed to find him some in Debenhams.

Judydreamsofhorses · 13/12/2015 17:55

Mine is so tall (6ft 5) he struggles everywhere and mostly gets Levis from America when he travels with work, however has had a couple of cheap pairs from H&M which have been okay but not lasted brilliantly. He's 40, btw.

Bunbaker · 13/12/2015 17:58

I don't understand why UK Levis only go up to a 33" inside leg. Loads of men are tall with long legs.

SorrelForbes · 13/12/2015 18:00

DH is a 34 with muscly thighs and likes the Next Loose fit style

WoodleyPixie · 13/12/2015 18:01

Boden as he like the thickness of the denim and the button fly. Another favourite is crew but they only have zip fly so he will take the Boden ones out of the drawer over the crew ones.

Madbengalmum · 13/12/2015 18:01

Ralph lauren, they do the longest lengths, ever and are nice looking jeans.
OH is very, very tall.

FrustratedFrugal · 13/12/2015 18:01

The Gap. He's 6' 5 and 40+.

WoodleyPixie · 13/12/2015 18:01

Oh and h thinks he's a 32 still but he's been a 34 for a while now. He fails to believe me though it's right there in the waistband.

Bunbaker · 13/12/2015 18:24

Our local Gap closed and I can't order online for OH. He has to try everything on as he isn't a standard size.

Pupsiecola · 13/12/2015 19:04

My DH is a weight trainer and finds it hard to buy for his big legs but relatively small waist. He finds Tommy Hilfiger ones fit the best.

DancingDuck · 13/12/2015 19:07

Ted Baker. Good cut, esp for men with long legs.

gingerdad · 13/12/2015 19:12

Debenhams or M&S for me. Similar size and rugby player thighs.

FireCrotch · 14/12/2015 01:10

Kirkland jeans at Costco. As a 501 fan dh was reluctant but they're so cheap (around £16-£20). An employee told me (on the QT like) that they're made by the same makers as Gaps.

MamaDuckling · 14/12/2015 01:14

H&M, DH is 6"1, 36/38 waist and v chunky thighs... As PP has said quality isn't brilliant but to be honest he seems to get through trousers very quickly, regardless of where they're purchased!

DickDewy · 14/12/2015 01:18

Mine gas jeans from Jack Wills (despite being about 25 years older than their average customer) and, for cheapies H&M have great slim fitting jeans. He's very slim and quite short (5'9) so has to wear slim or skinny jeans to avoid looking clownish.

Gap
I think our local Gap was the same as Bunbaker's, so we/he now go to an outlet shop a bit further away, which is a bit hit and miss.

autumnboys · 14/12/2015 06:28

He's just over 6ft and buys Gap or Boden. The first pair from Boden had to go back, but now he knows his size, it's relatively painless to order from them.

chanie44 · 14/12/2015 06:43

Mine hates shopping but likes rev brands in house of Fraser eg Hugo boss, Ted baker etc

SellFridges · 14/12/2015 06:55

Mine's mid-30s but wears Diesel. Most men I know do, with possibly some Levi's thrown in.

Bunbaker · 14/12/2015 07:02

Like me, OH couldn't care what brand of jeans he wears. He just wants jeans that fit. Levi UK only do jeans for short and average height men.
