Does anyone think that bigger earrings don't go with glasses?

I wear reading glasses and as i read a lot at work, i wear the a lot during the day. I've started to notice that if i have larger earrings on ( not just studs) my whole head looks too ' busy'.

Anyone else?

Yes, especially since I had my hair cut very short.

QueenLaBeefah · 05/12/2015 19:51

Completely agree. Just too much going on.

Quatrefoil · 05/12/2015 19:52

Yes, I have always worn glasses and always felt that dangly earrings just make for too much stuff around my face.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 05/12/2015 19:52

Ha Ha OP. I misread your thread title as "bigger earnings don't go with glasses" and came on here to say I wear glasses all the time and used to earn a shed load.... (not any more but that's nothing to do with the glasses).

To answer your actual ? I agree.

Greengardenpixie · 05/12/2015 20:04

Well i wear them although it took a lot of getting used too. I dont see my glasses anymore iykwim. I have always loved my earrings and will not stop wearing them.

Fuzzballs · 05/12/2015 20:08

I agree op

P1nkP0ppy · 05/12/2015 20:10

It depends on how big the earrings are IMO.
I have glasses and short hair but often wear smaller hoops or slim drop earrings.

GrinAndTonic · 05/12/2015 20:16

I think it depends on the frames too. Big black hipster style ones then yes. Small pale or rimless ones then possibly no.

Greengardenpixie · 05/12/2015 20:17

I frequently wear my earrings with my hair up and my glasses on like this:

www.google.co.uk/search?q=glasses+and+earrings&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjfo7jdxMXJAhXFXRQKHai9BeAQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=X4KanX6EKQ6TlM%3A

I think it looks ok.

BrendaandEddie · 05/12/2015 20:37

maybe it depends on what is going on with your hair?

hugoagogo · 05/12/2015 20:58

I agree with grin it totally depends on the glasses.

southeastastra · 05/12/2015 21:02

i also came on to say since i wear glasses my earnings have gone up Grin

BrendaandEddie · 05/12/2015 21:03

I'm going to take it one step further - I haven't got my ears pierced because I feel this way about all earrings with glasses. I had them pierced when I was about 12 and was so shocked by how it looked on me that I took them out and let them close over.

BestIsWest · 05/12/2015 21:18

Me! I never wear earrings with glasses for fear of Su Pollard. But I find earrings just plain weird anyway.

BrendaandEddie · 05/12/2015 21:58

Lol at su pollard

I think it's a bit like clashing prints. There are some people who can carry it off but I'm not one of them. I have a small face and wilful hair and it all just got too busy. Plus as I got older, it was like having two arrows pointing at my jowls.

I was a bit sad at the time cos earrings were my thing and I had some cracking ones but now I really like my specs so all is well.

sassytheFIRST · 06/12/2015 13:18

Can be a bit social worker for my taste.

ZaraW · 06/12/2015 14:12

I always wear studs when I wear my glasses. I have curly hair and I always tie my hair back as well. My glasses have heavy frames so the simpler the better works for me.

originalmavis · 06/12/2015 14:18

Unless you are Sophia Loren.

SealSong · 06/12/2015 14:26

'A bit social worker'? Confused What do you (wrongly) think social workers look like?

BrendaandEddie · 06/12/2015 14:26

Short hair. Eccentric knitwear. White stuff. Cornish pasty/ fly London shoes

OP posts:
SealSong · 06/12/2015 14:35

Well I suppose I did ask! Never seen a social worker in 'eccentric knitwear' though, and I am one. I'll have you know my knitwear is tres chic but I do wear Fly boots

BrendaandEddie · 06/12/2015 14:41

Stripey cardigans. Button necklaces. Coloured tights.

NotNowBono · 06/12/2015 14:47

Ha! My first thought was Su Pollard too. Or possibly Deirdre Barlow.
