Help me pick an outfit for work Christmas do? Please!

I've been surfing pinterest, and found these 3 possible outfit ideas, but need help choosing (and buying).

It's a meal in a city centre Marriott, ending at 1am (so presumably some kind of dancing after food?), possibly followed by clubbing.

Will I look like a child playing dress up in the last outfit?

Thanks!

It depends very much on your style. I am 32 and I would say quite classic, so the tulle would not look natural on me. I would say go for the first one if you have good legs ;) I would think knee height is mote appropiate for a work do but since it is at night and there might be clubbing involved, a little spark and miniskirt is appropriate.

honeylou42 · 01/12/2015 06:56

I like the first one most Smile

Bunbaker · 01/12/2015 07:08

The first one. I am not feeling the love for the current craze in tulle skirts. I also think they would date very quickly whereas you would get more wear out of the first one.

Love the second one too, where is the skirt from?

MuttonCadet · 01/12/2015 07:22

I love the skirt on picture one, but would put it with a black top.

The other skirts wouldn't suit my shape, but could look lovely (I agree tulle will date quickly, but if it's just for this Christmas season you'll be fine, and right on trend).

Dowser · 01/12/2015 08:00

Tulle for me. Just not keen on the top.

carrie74 · 01/12/2015 11:17

I like the third one (but it suits my style better. And I just bought an identical skirt yesterday - H&M £30).

carrie74 · 01/12/2015 11:17

Sorry, I mean first one - the straight sequin skirt.

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 03/12/2015 13:47

first one is awesome

superbfairywren · 03/12/2015 14:48

I love the second and third pictures if you can find anything similar. I like tulle skirts( I couldn't pull one off) I think you just have to make sure you don't look too ballerina.
If you find a similar skirt to the second picture please post as would love something like that!!

HappyGirlNow · 03/12/2015 16:01

First one if you have the legs...

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 03/12/2015 16:06

I LOVE the last one. The first one will only look nice if you are really slim with longish legs otherwise could look frumpy rather than stylish. Number two is my second favourite.

hellsbellsmelons · 03/12/2015 16:07

I love the last one.
I'm too short to carry it off but if you are taller then you can totally rock that look!

hauntedhenry · 03/12/2015 16:08

Love the first one!

Greengardenpixie · 03/12/2015 16:44

Love the first one. I love that look. Classic and dateless.

superbfairywren · 03/12/2015 17:22

m.hm.com/gb/product/36499?article=36499-A&variant=005 this looks good if you decide to go down the sequin route. Actually h and m have loads of sequiny sparkly stuff at the moment.

I saw someone wearing it the other week and had to search it out, but they don't have it in my size!!

MrsFionaCharming · 03/12/2015 23:36

Thank you for all the replies!

I went into H&M today and tried on every sequin skirt they have. I think it's safe to say I do not have the legs for one :(

I'm now considering either this one or this one in purple.

I'm just not certain that I'll fit into a 10. Also, DP says I'm not allowed to order one until I've chosen a top, or I won't find one and it'll just sit in the wardrobe. Sometimes I think he knows me too well...

For that much sequin, go for the darker purple.

It'll go with any black top.

Pantsalive · 03/12/2015 23:58

There's a size 12 in the gold one available but you'd have to pay postage from Ireland:

Pantsalive you are a wonderful person and deserving of a sainthood!

I'm going to put a snipe on it, but keep looking in case I get outbid.

I've just seen that Boohoo have free returns, so I think I'll order the purple one too and hope it fits.

Happy to have helped Smile. Fingers crossed!
Good idea to try both.
