Help me pick an outfit for work Christmas do? Please!

I've been surfing pinterest, and found these 3 possible outfit ideas, but need help choosing (and buying).

It's a meal in a city centre Marriott, ending at 1am (so presumably some kind of dancing after food?), possibly followed by clubbing.

Will I look like a child playing dress up in the last outfit?

Thanks!

I like the last one you have linked too. But I think something with half or 3/4 sleeves might look good. Can't see first links but I think I know what they are.

I think I'd like sleeves. I'm generally ok with my arms until I see them afterwards in photos.

I'm worried that I'm going to end up looking frumpy because of the skirt length.

These are the tops I've found so far:

Any thoughts? I'm so rubbish when it comes to this kind of thing!

Might be an idea to look at the Jersey top thread. I guess you need something quite plain and black? What neckline do you prefer and would you like sleeves?

Id do a plain sleeveless black tank to butch it up a bit.

The Boohoo skirt arrived today, and fits perfectly!

Now I just have to find a top to wear with it. :)

Pretty sure skirt number two is the same one I've got , bad news but it's last years stock
I bought it in the sale for £20 - too lazy lying on the couch scoffing choc to go upstairs to compare but here's picture of the one I bought X

www.boohoo.com/skirts/boutique-marin-grid-tulle-full-midi-skirt/invt/dzz96810 if you haven't already ordered or the sequin ones don't work out, this tulle number looks nice from Boohoo too.

Love both skirts you've picked, might have to get one myself! Good luck with the rest of the outfit search.

Happy to have helped Smile. Fingers crossed!
Good idea to try both.

I've just seen that Boohoo have free returns, so I think I'll order the purple one too and hope it fits.

Pantsalive you are a wonderful person and deserving of a sainthood!

I'm going to put a snipe on it, but keep looking in case I get outbid.

For that much sequin, go for the darker purple.

It'll go with any black top.

Thank you for all the replies!

I went into H&M today and tried on every sequin skirt they have. I think it's safe to say I do not have the legs for one :(

I'm now considering either this one or this one in purple.

I'm just not certain that I'll fit into a 10. Also, DP says I'm not allowed to order one until I've chosen a top, or I won't find one and it'll just sit in the wardrobe. Sometimes I think he knows me too well...

I saw someone wearing it the other week and had to search it out, but they don't have it in my size!!

m.hm.com/gb/product/36499?article=36499-A&variant=005 this looks good if you decide to go down the sequin route. Actually h and m have loads of sequiny sparkly stuff at the moment.

I love the last one.
I'm too short to carry it off but if you are taller then you can totally rock that look!

I LOVE the last one. The first one will only look nice if you are really slim with longish legs otherwise could look frumpy rather than stylish. Number two is my second favourite.

First one if you have the legs...

I love the second and third pictures if you can find anything similar. I like tulle skirts( I couldn't pull one off) I think you just have to make sure you don't look too ballerina.
If you find a similar skirt to the second picture please post as would love something like that!!
