Opinions on these boots please - I think I love them

They are totally fine. Only thing that makes boots look like 'mum' boots is when someone wears them with jeans tucked in that are baggy and not good fitting skinny jeans. Looks awful.

I call them my 'fallen woman' boots

Well I tried them on and love them more - I have slim feet and slim legs at the bottom so often boots gape. These are perfect for me and smart enough for work on wet days. Dh will be wrapping them until Christmas though.

Sounds like a good purchase - I have skinny calves too and struggle to find boots that fit properly. I would start wearing the new boots though...

They are fine - unremarkable, useful, sensible, perfectly inoffensive boots. You like them - who gives a shit what anybody else thinks? They will never be serious 'fashion' but neither will they ever be a complete no-no. Unless you fancy yourself strutting down the streets of Milan during fashion week, they will probably prove to be very useful and multi-tasking.

I'll enjoy wearing my "unremarkable" boots then. [Wondering what remarkable boots look like] I just wanted high quality classic/timeless boots that aren't baggy round my ankles.

Unremarkable wasn't supposed to be an insult! Some people on here seem to think that everything has to be some sort of fashion statement and my point is that surely for day to day life something durable and comfortable is a good idea.

Unremarkable is what I generally look for in boots! Plain and goes with everything. My choice today was black ankle boots, not a buckle or anything interesting to be seen!
