Things I will never do again...

Paperblank · 09/11/2015 21:47

This is sort of inspired by the fact that I am shortly going on maternity leave and as a result of the "ashamed of my beauty product hoard" thread.

I've taken off my nail extensions today (properly!) I initially had them done a few years back for DSis's wedding, and then just kept going back. I can think of better things to spend money on now

I've also been working through my hoard of potions and lotions and I know that in some instances I've found my holy grail product but still I hunt the shelves of Boots/Space NK/John Lewis just in case something better, nicer has come along.

So the things I will never do again are:

  1. Have nail extensions. My own are not bad and with a bit of tlc will be just as good as false

  2. Buy yet another lipstick! I have 20+ lipsticks and have searched high and low for my MLBB shade. I've had it all along - Clinique Butter Shine in Pink-a-Boo.

I will never again get a pixie cut.

It made me look like my mum.

KateSpadeAddict · 09/11/2015 21:56

I will never get a fringe again. It makes my chin look bigger and I hate growing them out.

I will also never have nail extensions again. I used to get them all the time but haven’t now for about 4 years. I now have pretty great (if i do say so myself) strong natural nails after a lot of hard work and care Grin

Dowser · 09/11/2015 21:59

Short crop for me too...and dyed auburn!

I'm blonde I tell you!

There that feels better!

HarrietSchulenberg · 09/11/2015 22:14

I too will never have short hair again. I've just spent 9 months trying to grow the disaster back to at least bob length. Nearly there.

MaisieDotes · 09/11/2015 22:16

Well, I never say never but I've pretty much dumped fake tan in all its forms over the last year.

expatinscotland · 09/11/2015 22:17

Have short hair. It doesn't suit my huge features and costs too much to maintain.

cardoon · 09/11/2015 22:20

I will never, ever, use immac on my face again>>>>>ShockBlushAngry

Paperblank · 10/11/2015 07:46

Ah yes....fake tan. No matter which brand I try I turn a strange shade of orange/brown/khaki with a lingering scent of stale biscuits!

Have shorter than my shoulders length hair. The cut looks good but I hate the growing it out part, it looks naff! Long hair for life...

Nabootique · 10/11/2015 08:16

I will never again have my bikini line waxed. I didn't think I was a wuss with pain but I wouldn't even let her do the other side! She was in training, so I don't know if that was anything to do with it.

MNetter15 · 10/11/2015 11:10

Great idea for a thread!

Wear bootleg jeans
Cut my hair short... My face looks enormous Shock

Lots more to follow!

FartemisOwl · 10/11/2015 11:26

Immac my fanjo. Holy crap, the itching when it grows is enough to drive anyone demented Confused

Have short hair or dark red hair. Not flattering for me.

Try and have a fringe, however fashionable.

Try and stick a false nail on to avoid cutting the rest down because one broke. Accidentally gluing one to my cheek just before a ball wasn't my best moment..

Itsalldramarama · 10/11/2015 11:37

Oh yes !veet my eyebrows because I couldn't be bothered to pluck !! Red and scabby between the eyes is not a good look ;) try to epilate under my arms ! Brought tears to my eyes !
Never have short hair again .. Looked shocking !
Never dye my hair again ! 5 month into growing out my silvers !

slug · 10/11/2015 12:37

Have long hair.

I've gone between very long and very short my entire adult life. My hair is very thick, very straight, very heavy and refuses point blank to submit to styling products, bands or clips. 3 years ago I practically shaved the whole lot off and I'm never going back. It takes 2 minutes to dry, needs no styling and, because it's so short, I can dye it any colour I fancy without having to think about growing it out/dealing with roots. I just cut the dyed bit off and I'm back to a blank slate again.

WhataRacquet · 10/11/2015 12:49

Spend a fortune on IPL for facial hair. Doesn't work.

Greengagesandham · 10/11/2015 13:25

Dye my own hair
Immac my face
Pierce my nose (it doesn't suit me sadly)
Buy clothes that don't spark joy
Have a Brazilian wax
Grow my hair long
Cut my hair very short and bleach it
Go clubbing in long boots and a short dress
Wear tunics, leggings, Breton tops or any other items of clothing that I became sick to death of during pregnancy

Lottapianos · 10/11/2015 13:49

I will never wear heels again. I have embraced the world of flat shoes and its such a joy being able to actually use my feet for walking and standing and suchlike, without being in agony all day long!

I will never have a Hollywood wax again - I stopped because I thought the pain would end up doing me actual psychological harm

I will never fake tan again - I have embraced the pale

Colour my hair red
Wear bootcut jeans

MaisieDotes · 10/11/2015 13:57

Oh yes, greengages you've reminded me. I'm 28 weeks pregnant with my third baby and after this pregnancy and appropriate post-natal period I will Never. Wear. Fucking. Lycra. OR STRETCHY ANYTHING EVER *

*Except in the evenings when relaxing on sofa Blush

NettleFarseer · 10/11/2015 14:15

So many....
Never have a pixie cut (been growing out the bastard for 11 months)Angry
Never dye my hair red
Never shave off all my minge hair with a scuzzy bic razor...oh the itchingShock

MNetter15 · 10/11/2015 15:04

I'm back with more...

Wear leggings. After 3 pregnancies, Goodbye forever Grin
Go brunette. Blonde is my colour.
Not tint my eyebrows. I'm hooked now but I do wonder if I'll look back in a few years and cringe like I do now at the bootleg jeans.
Wear a fleece jacket with jeans. It's the definition of frumpy/mumsy IMO.
Dye my own hair.
Wear large hoop earrings Blush
Get mad, fierce layers at front of hair.
Wear maxi dresses. I'm too short and they make me look pregnant. Pencil skirts are extremely flattering though.

TeaAddict235 · 10/11/2015 15:54

wear black nail varnish:

black or dark skin + black nail varnish = wife of Frankenstein look, not nice

RickOShay · 10/11/2015 16:06

Show even a tiny hint of cleavage.

donajimena · 10/11/2015 16:10

Ill never have short hair again... Blush

Paperblank · 10/11/2015 17:57

Few more from me...

Having embraced the comfort that is big pants I will never again wear a thong (and any way my arse is far too big)

Aside from a quick tidy around the edges never again shall hot wax touch my bush:

  1. I'm 41. If I want to rock a fanjo-fro I will.
  2. It F*ING hurts!
  3. DH didn't notice for three days the last time I had it done.

I am never going blonde again. It makes me look older by a good 5 years.

Wear really high heels.
